Students are required to write one research paper on a topic related to course. All topics must be submitted for approval of the instructor. The topic needs to fulfil the following criteria:
1. Relevance to US politics/public policy
2. Be the product of independent research covering primary and/or secondary sources
3. Contain appropriate referencing- please refer to issue position paper guide
4. 5-10 pages of text in length, excluding the Works Cited page
