In 1,750-2,000 words take a position and argue for your position. It may be helpful to pick a particular religion and discuss how women of that tradition reconstruct and counter violence. Alternatively, it may also be helpful to focus on a particular problem like FGM, sex trafficking, female infanticide, or the exclusion of women from positions of power. Essays must be typed, in New Times Roman 11 or 12-point font, with 1-inch margins all the way around, and page numbers. Word counts for the essays refer to the body of the text, i.e. they exclude your headings, titles, bibliographies, and any notes. Failure to submit an essay within the assigned word count will lower the grade one letter grade. So, for a 1,750-2,000 word paper, a paper of 1,749 words cannot receive better than a B grade. The same goes for a paper of 2,001 words.
