Each student will have the opportunity to choose a topic or subject that will be of interest. However, the topic must be confined to US history from approxiamtely 1945 until 1999. It is in your best interest to come up with a topic within the next two weeks, and you must receive the professor’s approval. The topics can range from anything dealing with social, economic, cultural, political and military events in recent US history. The essay should be from five to seven pages in length (double-spaced) with a works-cited page and proper footenotes or parethetical citations within the body of the essay. You may obtain your internet information from .gov’s, .edu’s and .org’s. The textbook is not an acceptable resource.
