Theological Theme

You should focus on two areas: development and significance. Development refers to how the author develops the idea. Does he mention it early in the book and again later? Discuss what he is doing and the context. Finally, conclude the paper by explaining the significance of his theme. What is he trying to say? Why is he bringing it up? Why does it matter?

Select:
The Tyndale Commentary includes a section in the Introduction that lists the major theological themes. You will select one of these themes to write your Theological Theme paper on. Choose from the following theological themes:
The Character of the Son
The Superiority of the Son over Others
The Son as High Priest
The Son’s Work as High Priest
The Son’s Inauguration of the New Covenant

Write:
Write a 6-page theological theme paper that shows the development of your selected theme throughout this biblical book. Your focus should be limited to THIS BOOK only. Yes, you may use supporting cross-references, but your focus is how is your theme is developed in THIS book. In most cases, you will want to show how your theme is developed throughout the entire book, not just limited to a particular section.
Your paper should include the following 2 major sections (as subheads):
Development: Discuss the author’s approach to introducing, developing, and arguing his theme. What is the context of the various sections where he brings it up?
Significance: Explain why this theme is significant in the book AND why it is significant for us as believers today.

Your paper should include an introduction, body (development and significance), and conclusion.
