Candidates will be required to author a comprehensive term paper that demonstrates competency of the course material using a contemporary professional issue of importance. Some examples include, but are not limited to: (e.g., scope of practice, third party and Medicaid reimbursement; misrepresentation of professional abilities; professional licensure, among other possible topics). Utilizing course readings, current scholarly literature, as well as other media sources of relevance, candidates are responsible for exploring the identified issue vis a vis established professional and ethical standards. Implications for both practitioners as well as clients are to be explicated, and future directions discussed. Additional assignment information, including an assignment rubric, will be provided during the semester.
