Assessment 1: Annotated Compendium
Word/time limit: 1600 words (+/- 10%)
For this task, you will create a short annotated compendium in which you will analyse and critique three innovative technologies or pedagogies using academic literature and existing examples of practice.

Select three technological or pedagogical innovations from your learning in the unit. For each innovation you will :
engage with academic literature
Provide examples of the technology /pedagogy in practice
Add your own critical perspective to provide a balanced evaluation of the potential benefit of the innovation to the vocational sector
The goal is to engage in a range of innovative learning and teaching practices, explore new ways of thinking about what it means to be a teacher and learner, with and through technologies. This assessment is meant to extend your experiences with innovative practices and to engage you in a productive critique of the learning opportunities that technologies may offer.
The structure
Your compendium should be written but also include images and other resources such as links (i.e. examples of education designs, video resources). It should be divided into three sections, one for each of your chosen innovative pedagogies or technologies.

Adaptive Learning in artificial intelligence – Examples of technology Cload Assess and Talent LMS can be used to adapt learning to the students particular level of understanding (zone of proximal development) and type of learner. (multiple intelligence theory) (pegagogy link to Gardner, Vygotsky)
Virtual Simulation/Reality – VS Technologigies have successfully been used for medical students and could be applied to vocational education as the assessments are predominately skills based. (pedagogy link Dewey)

Introduction (100 words) – Write a brief introduction to your compendium introducing your chosen innovative pedagogies or technologies.
For each of your three chosen technologies you should include:
Description: approximately 100 words
Provide a description of the innovative pedagogy or technology.
You should aim to be accurate and concise when approaching describing your innovative pedagogy or technology.
Examples: approximately 100 words
Provide examples of how the pedagogy or technology could be used in vocational education
Carefully identify and select relevant examples of how the pedagogy or technology could be used in an educational context and communicate these clearly.
Evaluation: approximately 250 words
Critically evaluate the pedagogy or technology. You should discuss the ideas, theory, uses, principles, benefits, opportunities or other aspects of the chosen pedagogies/technologies relevant to its use in education design.
You are expected to demonstrate a critical perspective with well-reasoned evaluation and justified arguments.
Finally, you should include:
Conclusion: approximately 100 words
Summarise your critique of the three innovations.
