What is a healthcare “provider”? What roles do providers play in the management of a for-profit or nonprofit healthcare organization? What tensions exist between providers and administrators that are special challenges for healthcare facility managers?

She wants to read that HealthCare providers such as doctors are not really that replaceable. As managers, how do you keep providers motivated and invested in their job? I.E. Dinners, Golfing, activities. Roles providers play: Providers play a huge role in bringing in revenue (How much to work, what to prescribe, whether are you doing a good job, etc) and governing (decision making).
