These are designed to get you guys thinking and may or may not even have a correct answer. Be thorough in your answers and explain your thought process. You will be graded on the quality of your comment based on the rubric that is posted in the Modules Tab under Course Rubrics. You may also comment on other people’s answers to start/continue a discussion as your participation as long as your comments meet the requirements in the rubric and contain original thought.

Consider the following hypothetical scenarios.
An individual does not have any release factors. How do you think the process of translation might be affected?
An individual has a condition that prevents them from fully digesting dietary proteins and therefore is always lacking several amino acids. Based on what you have learned in Ex Phys and in these early lectures of Ex Biochem, how do you think this might affect protein synthesis? How do you think the body would respond?
Be specific as to which stages of the process you think might be affected and why/how. You should only mention one aspect in your comment, you do not need to explain each part of the process that would be affected since this is an open question to the entire class.
What might be a condition/scenario that could cause a mutation in either the DNA replication, transcription, or translation processes that was not mentioned in the lectures? and how?
Be specific, do not just say “metabolic factors” or “environmental factors”
