Discussion 2: The Argument of Hebrews.
The Discussion you choose must have a minimum of twelve (12) complete sentences and two (2) internal academic citations and a Bibliography. The internal academic citations and the Bibliography must be in the Turabian model.
An internal academic citation is a short quotation from a study note from the HCSB or from the Wallace lectures or from the Johnson Writings. Limit your direct quotations to about five words; summarize the rest. Cite. A general rule for this course is to cite everything that is not common knowledge or your own thought.
Recopy each question in the prompt individually in BFT (Bold Face Type). Then answer that question. Then retype the next question in the prompt in BFT and answer it.
See the earlier examples in Modules 1 and 2 and 3. Please follow them.
The topic for this Discussion is below.
The Argument of Hebrews
Questions:
How does the author of Hebrews establish a similarity between Jesus Christ and the priest Melchizedek?
Why, according to the author, is Jesus Christ’s priesthood and the covenant He offers superior to the Levite priesthood and covenant of Moses? (Note: The Levites were the tribe from which Jewish priests at the Jerusalem Temple came, though typically they were, more specifically, from the line of Aaron.)
What other examples in the stories and texts we have covered this semester show Jesus Christ as a priest?
Describe the writing style of the author of Hebrews. Compare and contrast it in three areas to another New Testament book of your choice.
