Discussion 2: The Argument of Hebrews.

An internal academic citation is a short quotation from a study note from the HCSB or from the Wallace lectures or from the Johnson Writings. How does the author of Hebrews establish a similarity between Jesus Christ and the priest Melchizedek?
Why, according to the author, is Jesus Christ’s priesthood and the covenant He offers superior to the Levite priesthood and covenant of Moses? (Note: The Levites were the tribe from which Jewish priests at the Jerusalem Temple came, though typically they were, more specifically, from the line of Aaron.)
