Let’s think about and discuss this from a career search or career advancement point of view.
First of all, tell me who are the stakeholders in your job search or career advancement plan. In other words, who are the people who can impact or will be impacted by your plan? Also, think about those who have an interest in your success as a job seeker or career advancer.
You don’t need to list them by name but rather by their relationship to you. For example, internal stakeholders might be family and friends and external stakeholders could be neighborhoods, peers, schools, professors, funding sources, and managers.
Once you have told us your stakeholders, rank each in terms of power and interest. A stakeholder with high power is one who could make a big impact on your job search or one who will be greatly impacted. A stakeholder with high interest is one who really wants to see you succeed.
You can see an example of how this works in terms of career advancement here- https://www.stakeholdermap.com/stakeholder-analysis/stakeholder-analysis-for-career.html
Based on thinking about and rating your stakeholders, what type of plan can you develop to address stakeholder concerns from each perspective? Can you find a pathway in the stakeholder analysis to build support for your key job search or career advancement goals? What would it take to implement your ideas/plans to move forward with goals?
