DP#1: When you imagine a warehouse worker, what do you see? Straight-legged jeans, a neatly tucked-in buttoned work shirt, and large, sturdy boots? A decade ago, you wouldn’t be too far off.
Today’s warehouse environments are far too demanding for such restrictive clothing. Prior to the pandemic, productivity requirements for warehouse workers had already increased, during and following the pandemic those demands went into hyperdrive. The image of middle-aged warehouse workers was replaced by a younger, fitter generation of employees. Amazon’s much criticized ‘industrial athlete’ branding reinforces the idea that work is no longer work, but competition.
To stay competitive (and retain a highly nomadic workforce), warehouses have relaxed their dress codes. Today, safety toe athletic shoes have largely replaced boots. Jeans have given way to joggers. T-shirts are now the standard.
Overall, it creates a much more comfortable workday, but does it harm ones professional aspirations? What are your thoughts?

DP#2: Good evening,
This week is about professional attire and related behaviors, since I know I share a related profession with some others in this class I want to do a more specific part of our uniform. I am in the army and I am in the unique position of being a pregnant service member. My uniform is only given out to soldiers when they become pregnant. The maternity work uniform is worn on duty when prescribed by the commander. (AR. 670-1 CH. 5, 2016) The military has three separate uniforms that are modified or change by their commander under certain circumstances, army physical fitness uniform (APFU), army combat uniform (ACU) , and the army service uniform (ASU). As far as attire in these uniforms while pregnant, the pregnant soldier is authorized to wear civilian attire when they can no longer fit in their APFUs and for the ACUs and ASU’s the soldier is given two sets of maternity ACUs (ACU-M) and one set of maternity ASUs (ASU-M). The soldier is still required to follow all other military regulations regarding for hair, tattoo and makeup/jewerly. The ACU-M are different from the normal ACUs because you receive a maternity top and trousers that are not treated with permethrin, the soldier is also authorized to purchase and wear a maternity/breastfeeding undershirt if they choose. In the ACU-Ms the soldier does not have to wear a belt, and with a profile from their primary caregiver can wear their civilian tennis shoes rather then the boots. A big the for the army and appearance is the height and weight standards set in place to provide a healthy and professional look in uniform, when a soldier is confirmed pregnant she is no longer required to meet the military weight standards for the duration of her pregnancy and 365 days afterwards. The army has made many accommodations for pregnant soldiers over the past couple years and are currently in the making of a new maternity APFU uniform that will be issued to the pregnant soldiers, the army is all about uniform and being able to have set rules and standards. There army many different standard even based off jobs not just religious or health reasons, all these different regulations nd uniforms are cover in the Army regulation 670-1, found in Army publishing doctrine.
The army has many distinguishing characteristics about it that separates it from civilian jobs but at the end of the day the rules help to keep soldiers safe and help keep a uniformed environment to help in the time of movement. One thing the army does that separates itself is the ranking system. The army requires every soldier to wear their rank loud and proud, front and center on the chest and patrol cap. This would be the same as working in an office and the CEO wearing CEO in the middle of his Test so everyone knows. This helps to keep good order and decipline at all times in uniform. As soldiers are required to wear a cover or patrol cap when outside and are required to salute any senior ranking officer within 6 feet of them. One more key factor that is different in the army than other professions in when you are in the room and someone of superior ranking walks in, it’s announce, to give and example when a group of soldiers are hanging out in the room talking and a commander walks in the first person who sees him/her shouts “ room attention” and everyone stops what they are doing, gets quiet and stands up to the position of attention until released by that commander to “relax or carry on.” These are common courtesy the army has set forward to help keep a ranking system that is followed when sent to war, practice makes perfect. These key behaviors are instilled into a soldier because it can mean the difference between life and death. When you are a soldier you also have regulations for off duty uniforms, we are soldier 24/7 and 365 days year even on leave/vacation. One behavior that I see is really pushed by the army is respect, to subordinates, peers, and superiors. These are only a couple professional behaviors and attire but with the military you can really go on all day.

A business plan assists organizations in focusing on the specific steps necessary to make business ideas succeed and help build a plan to achieve short-term and long-term goals. A great business plan attracts investors, makes a practical approach to development, and determines future financial needs.
A lean strategy is also known as a cooperate strategy. A Lean strategy improves revenue by decreasing prices or becoming the uppermost quality or most receptive supplier in its market. According to Healthcare Disruptive, when using the Lean strategy, marketing is usually towards large providers, governments, distributors, and PMBs (Elton, O’Riordan, A. 2016).
A direct sales business model is when sales of products/services bring revenue through a network of salespeople who sell directly to customers. This would be a great way to reach the older generation and people who experience healthcare barriers such as cost, transportation, etc.
These two business models are different regarding who the company directly connects with. The lean strategy business model is marketed toward other entities, but the direct sales model connects directly to the people. I think the direct sales model will be more effective and assist people in the underserved community with a way to get what they need conveniently.

DP#4: Hello everyone! The two types of business plans I chose were start-up business plan and internal business plan. The start-up business plan is exactly what it says. It is the start up plan for a new business. An internal business plan targets a specific audience for a specific type of device or plan. Both of these business plans would be an excellent plan for when someone is starting up a business. In order to start up a business you will first have to decide what you are going to sell and to what type of audience you will be selling it to.
