The focus lies on the following aspects: • What are the biggest threats and weaknesses to your case company from a network-effect, 4th Industrial Revolution (e.g. Digital Twin) or 2nd Machine Age (e.g. Recommender System)? You can include insights from your group work. • Which company do you suggest as an acquisition target / merger candidate? Here you can show that you understand your case company and its competitive environment. • How would the acquisition/merger strengthen the strategic positioning (vis-a-vis competitors/customers / strategic sweet spot) and the business model (value creation, capture, delivery) of your case company? • Which specific technologies and/or business model patterns would the acquisition/merger improve? Why? • Which resources, processes or structures of your acquisition/merger target are superior to your case company? Why? This is quite a challenging question, you don’t necessarily need to address it in the memo!
