Write a 3- page essay (not including title and reference page) on a current, federal, state, or city government policy issue. You will choose an issue, present an argument as to why it’s important, and present a recommended course of action to solve the issue. This will be done in the style of a letter to an elected government official, your state representative or senator or local legislator. A minimum of five (5) outside sources are required with proper APA citations. Remember, all written assignments must adhere to APA style guidelines. Also, remember a proper letter heading.
Your assignment/ letter should focus on an issue that addresses a current problem at the national, state or local level. Finding a problem in today’s political environment will not be difficult. Just spend a few days attending to the national, state or local news on television, the radio, and in print. It will be important to decide on the scope of the issue.
