Write a paper on Murphy Mason from In the Dark Character description/ analysis

Often, characters face psychiatric issues that prevent them from fully understanding the world as understood by the other characters in the story. Other times, a character’s thinking is clouded by an addiction, an obsession, or an overwhelming lust for love, power, or revenge. When this happens, it becomes clear that there is a disconnect between this character’s perception of reality and the way reality is understood by others.
For this essay, you will choose one fictional character that fits this description. However, avoid plot summary at all costs, and pay attention to the audience profile below.
Audience profile
Assume that your audience consists of people who have the following traits:
They have already read the novel or seen the movie (or whatever else you’ve chosen) and would be bored by a plot summary. They already know the story. No “background” is needed at all.
They are already interested in the character you’ve chosen and are seeking to learn more—otherwise, why would they be reading your essay?
However, they are not necessarily experts regarding this character and have not thought about him or her as much as you have (or in the same way you have).
Write an essay in which you analyze this character. Without resorting to plot summary, identify the specific issues that this character is having, and describe specific moments that illustrate these disconnects between perception and reality—in other words, show us the evidence. Then, show us the implications: how does the character deal with these tricks of the mind? What is their significance? How do they affect the character—and everybody around them?
