After Bretton Woods

Read Chapter 5 “After Bretton Woods” in Globalizing Capital. Then write a brief summary of this period in history (a paragraph or two only). The bulk of your writing should be a reflection of the reading as it relates to the Shapiro textbook “Foundations of Multinational Financial Management”. In other words, what does the post Bretton Woods world look like and how does it help us understand what’s happening in our world today? Close the paper with an opinion on how this time in history will continue to affect our immediate future, if at all. Support your work with at least one additional source. I am not too strict on what is considered a source as long as you avoid wikipedia, investopedia, blogs, etc. They are useful tools in their own right, but not appropriate for an academic assignment. Appropriate sources would include peer reviewed research, white papers, or even a rigorous WSJ or Bloomberg article.
Don’t simply summarize the sources. Build an argument to support the purpose, noted above: what can history teach us about today and our immediate future.

Length: 2 to 3 pages (not including reference page)

Your paper should demonstrate thoughtful consideration of the ideas and concepts that are presented in the course and provide new thoughts and insights relating directly to this topic. Your response should reflect scholarly writing (double-spacing, complete sentences, etc.) and current APA standards for citing and referencing. Be sure to adhere to the University’s Academic Integrity Policy. Anything that looks like plagiarism, accidental or otherwise, will receive a zero.
