Benchmark Assessment (3 Day Unit Plan)

Using the attached document please complete the 3-day unit plan which is also attached.

Design the 3-day unit plan to include:

Meaningful and measurable learning objectives for each lesson based on the identified concept and aligned to national/state learning standards. Include one learning objective addressing a cross-curricular concept for each day.
Within the lesson’s Multiple Means of Representation, select instructional strategies and activities that enhance effective instruction and are based on student data.
Within the lesson’s Multiple Means of Engagement, select activities that are diverse and differentiated to address all students’ needs.
Within the lesson’s Multiple Means of Expression, use technically sound formative and summative assessments that minimize sources of bias to support, verify, and document learning. Include a formative assessment for each day, one summative assessment, and one authentic assessment with an aligned rubric.
Additionally, in 250-500 words, provide a rationale at the bottom of your unit plan. Discuss how you used your mentor’s feedback to modify your lesson, incorporate cross-curricular concepts, and make additional instructional decisions for the unit. Reflecting on the authentic assessment given to your field experience classroom during Topic 4 and the data collected, what specific considerations would you make for the group if you were to implement this unit and authentic assessment?

Support your findings with a minimum of three scholarly resources.

International Labor Standards

Globalization has created many challenges for labor relations as well as many opportunities. Based on the ILO publication (below), consider the following questions:

–What are some of the labor issues that globalization has brought to the forefront?

–What are some opportunities for social justice that globalization has provided?

This week’s task:

Please choose one of the topics covered by ILO (on p. 32) and compare the standard to the policy in the U.S. (For example, one of the standards is about maternity protection. How does it compare to the United States Labor Law on maternity leave?)

You do not have to reach a definitive conclusion as to the truth of the claim made, but address the question of the extent to which evidence supports or possibly contradicts it.
Use the primary PECO question you identified in your PECO assignment of this research project to frame the truth claim considered in this essay. Cite references from scholarly literature to support your argument. You may use the references submitted in the reference list in your PECO assignment, but you may search for and use additional references as well. You are not limited to 20 references, and you need not cite all 20 of those submitted in your preliminary reference list if you have since discovered better evidence.
Your essay should be 5-6 pages long (standard North American letter page size (21.6 x 28 cm = 8.5 x 11 in), 2.5 cm margins, double-spaced, 11 point font) excluding any title page, figures, side-bars or reference lists.
References should be cited in the body of the essay and listed at the end using APA 7th edition format.
Before the due date, each student will submit their essay electronically via the dropbox available in this Assignment. You will automatically lose one final mark for each calendar day (or part thereof) of lateness in submission.
Normally, this electronic submission will cause your essay to be submitted to the university’s plagiarism detection tool for a review of textual similarity and detection of possible plagiarism. In doing so, students allow their essays to be included as source documents in the tool’s reference database, where they will be used solely for the purpose of detecting plagiarism. Further details and options for other methods of plagiarism detection are described in the Syllabus.Write a brief essay reflecting on whether the primary truth claim made in the popular medium publication assigned to your group is supported by evidence. Electoral college campaign plan -2024

Fast forward to the year 2024. Pretend you are a campaign advisor to either the Republican candidate (it might be Trump but we don’t know for sure) or the Democratic candidate (it might be Biden but we don’t know for sure). You will be designing a campaign plan for your candidate to win the Electoral College vote and thus the presidency. It does not matter which candidate/political party you pick to advise, just choose one or the other.

There are three main elements to your plan.

Take a look at the state by state results for the 2020 election. I want you to look at the results of all 50 states and choose which states you are going to try to win and tally up the electoral votes from each of those states. For example, Washington is considered a safe Democratic state. So if you are designing a plan for the Democrat, you should plan to win in Washington state and its 12 electoral votes. If you are an advisor for the Republican, you should probably ignore Washington and compete in states where you have a better chance like Alabama. (If you are a Democratic advisor, you should probably ignore Alabama).
As you make a list of all the states where you hope to compete and win, including all of the “safe states” where you are very confident that you’ll win, make sure that they add up to at least 270 electoral votes. If you are doing this correctly, you will probably be trying to win around 315-350 electoral votes so that you have some margin of error. Remember most states are “winner take all” for their electoral votes. For the purpose of this assignment, you can treat Nebraska and Maine as winner take all states, too. This means if you are trying to win Nebraska, assume you’ll get all 5 electoral votes from that state.
The final part of your plan is to figure out how you will spend $500 million in campaign funds. States with more electoral votes should get more campaign money than states with fewer electoral votes. So, it would be reasonable for a state with 4 electoral votes to get $4 million and a state with 7 electoral votes to get $7 million. States that are considered “swing states” should get even more money because there is more at stake there. Each state must receive at least $1 million in campaign funding, even if you do not plan on trying to win that state. So again, Republicans will need to spend $1 million in Washington state, even if you are not planning on competing here. This money will help other Republicans who are running for other offices and maybe narrow the likely margin of victory for the Democrat. Note: As you saw in the video about the Electoral College, occasionally there are landslide elections where candidates win nearly every state. But the last time a Republican won in Washington for president was 1984.
Important point: If you are not devoting a lot of money in states like Arizona and Pennsylvania, you are doing something wrong. Those are both considered “swing states” which means they are fairly evenly divided between Democrats and Republicans. And Pennsylvania should get more money than Arizona because it has more electoral votes. (Pennsylvania has 19, Arizona has 11). California is not a swing state because Biden won there by 29% points in 2020 so there is not a need to spend a ton of money there.
After you have made notes for your plan by doing the steps listed above, answer the following questions. (This is what you will turn in as your assignment).

Step 1: Write the following at the beginning of your assignment: I am putting together a plan for the Democrats or I am putting together a plan for the Republicans. Make a list of all the states — including the “safe states” where you expect to compete in the 2024 election (abbreviations are fine. Example: I am putting a campaign plan together for the Republicans. I will compete in Alaska, Alabama, Arkansas, etc). This list should include both safe states that you expect to win and swing states where you hope to win, so I’m guessing your list is going to include 25-35 states or so. Next, assume you win every single one of those states in your list. Tally up the electoral votes from those states and provide that number in this part of the assignment.

Step 2: Provide a list of the top 5 states for your campaign spending. Tell me how much you are spending in each state. Example: 1) Pennsylvania, spending $30 million.

3. Briefly describe your overall campaign strategy in 4-6 sentences. (As a Republican, I wanted to focus on trying to win back Wisconsin and Michigan so I put a lot of money into those two states in addition to the other swing states).

Most of the work for this assignment is in looking at the states and figuring out which ones to compete in and which ones to leave behind. As a general hint, if the results from 2020 show that a particular state was within 5-6 percentage points, I would probably consider those swing states. Or look at the chart from 270 to win (link below) which indicates swing states (toss up states) in light brown shading. That should helpful to you in creating this plan.

Here are two great links where you can just hover of the states to see the results in 2020. https://www.nytimes.com/interactive/2020/11/03/us/elections/results-president.html

https://www.usatoday.com/elections/results/2020-11-03/presidential/?itm_source=oembed&itm_medium=news&itm_campaign=electionresults-home&itm_content=presidential

This is a little hard to believe, but some political junkies are already creating electoral college maps for 2024. This link from 270towin.com is helpful because it contains the updated electoral votes for each state following the 2020 census. For example, a lot of people moved to Florida in the past 10 years so they went from having 29 electoral votes in 2020 to having 30 electoral votes for 2024. So, I strongly encourage you to use this site so that you have accurate numbers of electoral votes for each state. Here is the link: https://www.270towin.com/

your ability to synthesize and present your understanding of a specific genre/movement of Rock Music

You must select and focus on a genre that we have studied OR is related to what we have covered (i.e. Hip Hop, Ska, K-Pop, Speed Metal, Glitter Rock, R&B, etc. are all acceptable genres).
1. Explain the background and context of the style. Which style(s) came immediately before this genre? Where did it come from geographically?

2. What influences led to the development of this genre? Usually, new genres develop in reaction to previous styles, such as punk rock developing as a scaled down-response to glam

3. Describe the style in musical terms. What does it sound like? Discuss the key distinguishing musical elements of the genre (i.e. talk about the melodies, harmonies, rhythm, form, instrumentation, etc.). Describe what makes this genre sound different than others.

4. Choose one or two notable, representative artists or groups of the genre. Discuss these artists/groups. You can give an overview of important artists but stay away from the “laundry list” of all artists in this genre.

5. Focus on a few notable albums and songs. If you were giving someone who didn’t know this music a playlist, what would you put on it to help them “get” the music? This does not need to be an exhaustive list, but more of a “best of” type of list.

6. What is particularly compelling to you about this music? Why is this style or performer important to you?

Overview
You are excited to see the possibilities after finishing the Business Model Canvas Template. The next step is the development of the BMC slide deck for review by the experienced former project manager mentioned in the Module Four assignment.

Scenario
In the BMC slide deck, you will make educated assumptions (based on research in Marketline, Yahoo Finance, or the company’s website) about your selected company’s resources, partnerships, cost structures (what needs to be paid for), how the product or service will be marketed, value delivery (product sold online, in-store, or both), and the unique value proposition for a specific targeted market segment.

All 9 segments of your redeveloped BMC must encompass elements to achieve new product/service feasibility.

Beyond profitability, other key elements that the experienced project manager stressed were diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI), as well as corporate social responsibility (CSR). In the marketplace, companies that have diverse project teams get varied perspectives that help the overall project. Just as important, companies that “give back” to the communities they serve do better and are supported by millennial buyers—a big target segment for many companies.

Financials, DEI, and CSR must be addressed in the funding pitch, which you will complete as your course project, due in Module Seven.

Prompt
You will create a slide deck that will help you expand on your BMC chart in detail as you refine how your selected company will create value for itself while delivering a new product or service for customers. Complete the Milestone Two Template linked in the Guidelines for Submission section for this assignment.

Specifically, you must address the following rubric criteria:

Deliver a unique value proposition.
Leveraging the blue ocean strategy, what makes the product or service unique?
How does it provide a strategic advantage in the marketplace?
Answer key business model questions about the customer.
Customer acquisitions
Revenue models
Price points for the product/service
Key activities for the value proposition (product or service)
Answer key business model questions about assets, partners, and cost.
Assets available
Key partners
Cost structures
Import your existing business model canvas chart from Module Four.
Clarify your business model assumptions.
Check your assumptions
Complete the assumptions chart
Prepare to meet customers.
Highlight the materials needed
Update your documentation.
Targeted segment
Type of value delivered
How the product is unique
Update your business model.
Complete any updates to the BMC chartOverview

Evolution of federal legislation that has led to the creation of the sex offender registration and notification (SORN) policies in the United States

Write an essay (double spaced, 12 point font, one inch margins) addressing the following questions. This assignment will be worth 100 points. It is due by midnight Sunday night April 23. This is a formal writing assignment, so you must edit your work for spelling and grammatical mistakes. All sources must be cited within your text with the APA citation style and all sources listed at the end of your essay in a formal reference list also in APA citation style.

Discuss the evolution of federal legislation that has led to the creation of the sex offender registration and notification (SORN) policies in the United States. How have these laws impacted sex offenders once they have been released from prison? What is the general consensus of research on the effectiveness of SORN policies in the United States?
