Describe the nature of their symptoms. What symptoms are they showing in the video that makes your group think this person is experiencing a traumatic response? The DSM can be helpful in checking off these symptoms.
I have seen quite a bit of shows and movies depicting some form of Posttraumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) in the characters. Just to rattle off a few, Avengers: Endgame (2019), Joker (2019), Criminal Minds, Dexter, The Pacific (2010), I am Legend (2007) the list seriously continues. I know this is a short list, but it is honestly portrayed in a lot of ways. Your group, for this assignment, will take a character you believe may be experience a trauma-related response and answer the following questions. It can be any character from any television series or movie your group agrees on.
Part 1 (2 Points):
Identify the character and the film or television series. If it is just one episode, make sure to mention the season and episode you are referring to.
Part 2 (4 Points):
Describe the nature of their symptoms. What symptoms are they showing in the video that makes your group think this person is experiencing a traumatic response? The DSM can be helpful in checking off these symptoms. Give a short description of these. You do not have to be overly specific on the symptoms.
Part 3 (4 Points):
What was the nature of the trauma? What experiences did they have? Was it a singular event or multiple events? Again, you do not have to go to in-depth on this explanation, but enough to recognize the significance of the trauma.
