Report: Firm and Industry Analysis

Designing viable strategies for a firm requires a
thorough understanding of the firm’s industry, its competition, and the social,
economic, and political environments in which the firm operates. Additionally, the executives of the firm need
always to address four questions: (1) What are the boundaries of the industry?
(2) What is the structure of the industry? (3) What firms are competitors? (4)
What are the major determinants of competition?

Format of the Industry Analysis
The paper is a report on 1 company (taken from the
Excel database available on Blackboard in the course shell) and should be
presented under the following form:
·
Introduction
·
Recent History
·
Strategic Management Model
·
Contending Forces and/or Contestable Markets
·
References

The
paper is to be developed in a modified APA format, referred as the
International APA format. It should be about 10 pages max (inclusive of tables
and references), preferably Times New Roman font, size 12, double spaced.

You can find below some help with respect to the
writing of the different sections.

Components of the Strategic Management Model
You should describe:
·
the company mission and the scope of its operations.
·
the specific model used to obtain short-, medium-, and long-term
objectives.
·
the company’s management model.
·
the company’s hierarchical structure.
·
the grand strategy, annual objectives, functional strategies, and
indicators for control and evaluation.

Hint: you can find a lot of information from the
company’s website or the database Mergent Online at M – Databases A-Z (Electronic Resources) – LibGuides
at Governors State University (govst.edu).

Contending Forces and Contestable Markets
Contending forces consist of:
(1) threat of entry, economies of scale, product
differentiation, capital requirements, cost advantages and disadvantages,
access to distribution channels, and government policies;
(2) vertical and horizontal linkages of suppliers,
(3) understanding consumers and buyers along with
substitute and complement products.

You can also relate this section to Poreter’s five
forces’ model. You can also refer to the following criteria: market share,
breadth of product line, effectiveness of sales distribution, proprietary
technologies and patent rights, price competitiveness, advertising and
promotion effectiveness, location and age of facility, capacity
potential/limitations and productivity, and the quality of the workforce.

The analysis should also include Concentration Ratio
(CR) and Herfindahl-Hirschman Indices (HHIs).

TESLA: Working Capital Management

THE COMPANY I CHOSEN IS TESLA
Overview
Organizations must manage their working capital management to meet their short-term obligations.
It’s important to consider working capital problems such as excess credit or a low cash balance. This
is especially important when you propose new projects or investments. A business can get a
competitive advantage in the marketplace if they manage these issues early.
Directions
Look at the business TELSA you selected for Project Two and the financial statements for the most recent fiscal quarter. Complete the calculations for determining working capital. Then tell how the
financial statements help determine financial health.
Specifically, you must address the following rubric criteria:
Financial Statements: Explain the various financial statements needed to calculate a business’s working capital. Also explain how to use each financial statement for the calculation. Give Examples to support your claims.
Working Capital’s Role: Discuss how businesses that manage their working capital well stay healthy.
Working Capital Interpretation: Use the correct formula to calculate working capital. Then discuss the business’s current financial liquidity position.
For example, does the business have enough working capital ready to address bills to suppliers? Will there be potential cash inflow at the end of the year?
Working Capital Management Trend: Discuss the business’s trend in how they manage their working capital.
Remember that financial statements reflect a specific period of time and the value of the business’s working capital during that period. Use Mergent Online to find financial statements for earlier periods. This will give you a better sense of the business’s trend.
What to Submit
Your submission should be a 2- to 3-page Word document with 12-point Times New Roman font,
double spacing, and one-inch margins. Any sources should be cited according to APA style.

Which of the instructional methods are you most confident with implementing? Explain. What instructional method are you reluctant to incorporate that could increase the meaningfulness of your lessons for students? What can you do to become more confident with that instructional method?

General Education Goals

According to Blevins-Knabe (2019), general education goals need to be broad since they must work across disciplines. For example, “Communication” is a general education learning goal here at University of Phoenix. One way to learn about the general education goals of other colleges is to Google “general education goals” and select a college from the list.

Write a 250- to 300-word response to the following:
How could “Communication” (or another goal) be evaluated across disciplines?
How could “Communication” (or another goal) be assessed directly and indirectly?
Identify general educational learning goals at your own or another organization. What goal stand out for you? Why?
What new understanding do you have about general education goals for educational organizations?
Include your own experience as well as 2 citations that align with or contradict your comments as sourced from peer-reviewed academic journals, industry publications, books, and/or other sources.
Cite your sources according to APA guidelines. If you found information that contradicts your experience, explain why you agree or disagree with the information.

Explain the impact of technology on the criminal justice system

Part 1: Case Study Matrix

CJ216-1: Explain the impact of information technology on the criminal justice system.

Locate a case in the news that involved law enforcement using technology to solve the crime. Then download and complete the Case Study Matrix.

Download and complete the Module 1 Part 1: Case Study Matrix.

Use appropriate grammar and spelling when completing the worksheet.

*Note* The case study matrix was completed and assignment submitted. It requires editing/rewrite. Copied below is notes from the professor indicating what the assignment needs to be considered completed. The case study in its current form has been uploaded. Please research and add the additional requested information indicated from the professor and utilize 2 additional sources in doing so.
A blank Matrix has also been uploaded should you decide to utilize it.

Additional Information Required By Professor:
Feedback on your case study is that it is missing a lot of information. In your resubmission you will want to add more to the summary of the case. How did they focus in on Joseph Holt 30 years later? Was he a suspect previously? When was the case solved? You mention that he died in 2014, but how did they have his DNA? Most law enforcement agencies do not have the ability to use genealogical databases for DNA testing of suspects. There can be a search warrant issued, but they would have to get a judge to recognize there is a significant danger to release “health information”. Usually our DNA profiles come from the DNA stored once someone is convicted of a crime and in a few states those who are arrested for specific violent crimes. In your case study for next term, you will want to add to and explain how this case was solved with a deceased suspect 30+ years later.

You can contrast Dr. Merriman, Dr. Capici, or either professor and my take on World War I. I also have other resources for you. The main point is to contrast two professors in [two ways] and use two [2] quotes from each source for a total of four [4] quotes to prove your thesis.
