What kind of truth does each work try to achieve?
Aaron Douglas’s style “is the result of a deep-rooted belief that in trying to imitate the actual world, art-as-likeness was really falsifying the way we see that world.” Although all art is a form of imitation—whether of the actual or the imaginary world—Douglas’s belief highlights the way artists have used conflicting methods of getting to the “truth” of the world. Choose one image from early “realistic” methods of artistic representation and one image from later “art of alteration” and analyze the following: What kind of truth does each work try to achieve? What methods is each artist using to create this kind of truth? How do these methods differ from each other?

What gains did they make? Why? In other words, what factors help explain these gains? What were the limits to their gains?
Does the tactic align to the objective and the priority audience segment(s)?
It’s time to check up on your progress with the strategic communication plan. The Long Lake Community Center board wants you to present your goals to improve the Job Placement Services Center. Review Topic 6 to ensure your objectives, strategies, and tactics follow the guidelines. Remember, the material you prepare this week will support your final strategic communication plan due in Week 5. You will have an opportunity to make adjustments based upon feedback from your instructor each week.
Create a 6- to 10-slide Microsoft PowerPoint presentation that includes the following:
2 global objectives for your plan. Include:
The criteria you plan to use to evaluate the success of the objectives.
Summary of your plan to operationalize your objectives, which may include:
Units of measurements (i.e., number of people, scores on a rubric, average test scores, a change in the result of a survey question)
Tools you will use to gather information (i.e., surveys, tests, interviews)
How will you get baseline measurements?
How will you assess progress of the objectives after the plan is implemented?
At least 1 intermediate objective for each global objective. Include:
The criteria you plan to use to evaluate the success of the objectives
Ensure your objectives align to your theory from Week 2
Summary of your plan to operationalize your objectives (see points above)
At least 1 strategy for each intermediate objective. To help draft these, consider:
How can you translate the measurements into ways of reaching the priority audience segment(s)?
Will these strategies support how you achieve the objective?
At least 1 tactic for each strategy. To draft these, include:
Associated tasks, people, channels, and timelines
Does the tactic align to the objective and the priority audience segment(s)?
Will the tactics support what you need to do to achieve the strategy?
Explain how the objectives, strategies, and tactics relate to your vision statement and communication theory.
Include an introduction and conclusion for your presentation, along with any visuals and charts. You may use the Objectives, Strategies, and Tactics Template to draft these or another resource of your choice.
Present your information by recording audio for each slide or include speaker notes.
Explain what you think are the strongest parts of their analysis or argument, and explain why you think so.
Explain what you think are the strongest parts of their analysis or argument, and explain why you think so.
In the second review statement, please describe:
what you think are the weakest parts of their analysis or argument, and explain how you think they could be strengthened.
Here’s a writing template you can use.
Strengths. These are the parts of your analysis that I consider the strongest, and why I think so: ….
Weaknesses. Let me also mention the parts that I consider the weakest, and explain how I think they could be strengthened: ….
Please focus on the actual content of their thread: their question, answer, and supporting reasons with evidence. Please do not give feedback on mere spelling and grammar.
You can and should be rigorous and critical in the academic sense. Also be sure to be respectful, complying with the Behavior Policies and Online Etiquette in the Syllabus here.
Feedback Tips: If, on the one hand, it’s hard for you to give feedback, you can just start by saying it makes you uncomfortable. But then don’t shy away from it or be passive-aggressive about it. Use my writing templates and be direct. By qualifying your review statements with “I think,” you can plainly say you think someone’s analysis has a weakness, and you won’t be hurting their feelings; after all, you could be wrong.
If, on the other hand, it’s hard for you to receive feedback, do your best to separate your sense of self and self-worth from your work. Your ideas and writing are not you. Your value as a person remains unchanged if you misread a text or make a weak point about it. Everyone does that at some time or another. Also know that peer review is not a one-way street. You don’t have to take your reviewer’s advice automatically. When they catch a problem in your writing that you had missed, sincerely thank them. When you have good reason for disagreeing with their feedback, learn to trust your instincts and respond with gracious confidence.

Which substance use disorder treatment is most effective?
This section should I have included the research question, along with a brief explanation of why the research is needed. Provide an answer as to how this will add to the current literature? In other words, how will it address a gap in the literature?
Question: Which substance use disorder treatment is most effective?
There are various distinctive methods used by medical professionals to treat substance use disorders such as: psychosocial interventions, group therapy, medication assisted treatment (MAT), inpatient and outpatient rehabilitation, and medical detoxification. Using comparative research, I will attempt to identify which treatment modality has the greatest efficacy for individuals suffering from substance use disorders
2.Compare and analyze the literature in the articles collected.
3.Compare the limitations in each of the studies you have collected.
4.A conclusion that includes how your research will add to the current field of research.
Empirical Articles
Medical Detox/ Medical Assisted Withdrawal
Das, K., Jat, M. I., Qureshi, S., Arain, T., & Haider, A. (2021). Frequency of drug detoxification treatment completers and non-completers. Professional Medical Journal, 28(4), 533–538.
A cross-sectional study was conducted to determine the frequency of drug detoxification treatment completion. Substance abusers receiving care at the Karachi Hospital were compared in groups, completers versus non-completers. Additionally, each group was broken down by age groups, employment status, and type and frequency of substance being abused. Utilizing this research, I can compare the efficacy of this type of program to the other substance use disorder treatments.
Outpatient Rehabilitation
de Moura, A. P., e Sousa, H. F. P., Dinis, M. A. P., Ferros, L. L., Jongenelen, I., & Negreiros, J. (2021). Outpatient Drug and Alcohol Treatment Programs: Predictors of Treatment Effectiveness. International Journal of Mental Health and Addiction, 19(5), 1452.
Using cross-sectional regional design, participants were recruited from an outpatient treatment center to identify the effectiveness of the treatment they received. This study aimed to distinguish the predictors of treatment effectiveness, and abstinence from drugs and alcohol, using a biopsychosocial approach. The data, collected from these questionnaires, were administered at the outpatient facility, and will be compared to other types of substance use disorder treatments.
Medication assisted treatment (MAT)
Ma, J., Bao, YP., Wang, RJ., Su, MF. (2019). Effects of medication-assisted treatment on mortality among opioids users: a systematic review and meta-analysis. Molecular Psychiatry, 24(12), 1868–1883. https://doi.org/10.1038/s41380-018-0094-5
Statistical methods of meta-analysis, using systematic review of thirty cohort studies with over 370,000 participants, were pooled in this study to assess the effects of various medication-assisted treatments (MATs). By utilizing this study for further research, the overall cause and overdose crude mortality rates (CMRs) and relative risks (RRs) by treatment status can be compared to participants not receiving MAT and/or the various other methods of treatments for substance use disorder.
Group therapy
Mokhtari MR, Alavi M, Pahlavanzadeh S, Weimand BM, Visentin D, Cleary M. (2020). Comparison of the effectiveness of a 12-step substance use recovery program on quality of life. Nursing & Health Sciences, 22(2):390-397. https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/31828941/
A study aimed at identifying the impact of the 12-step substance use recovery program, and its efficacy for substance use disorder. The research method used was a quasi-experimental, two group, three stage, pre-and post-test design, which collected data at baseline, one- and three-months post intervention. This research will provide the data used to compare other data from other substance use disorder programs to ascertain which program has the best results.
Psychosocial interventions
Peter E. Nathan, & Jack M. Gorman. (2015). A Guide to Treatments That Work: Vol. Fourth edition, pp. 731-762. Oxford University Press.
Using meta-analysis, and randomized control trials, this study looked to prove that cognitive-behavioral interventions are the is most effective psychosocial modality in treating substance use disorders. In addition, researchers looked to best implement these interventions in order to produce the best outcomes in patients, can be easily adopted and integrated by clinicians. To best assist in my research question, I will analyze the data, provided by the 2,340 patients receiving psychosocial intervention, and compare it to the other substance abuse treatments provided.
Inpatient rehabilitation
Wakeman, S.E., Metlay, J.P., Chang, Y., Grace, E., Herman, B.A., Rigotti, N. (2017). Inpatient Addiction Consultation for Hospitalized Patients Increases Post-Discharge Abstinence and Reduces Addiction Severity. J GEN INTERN MED 32, 909–916. https://link.springer.com/article/10.1007/s11606-017-4077-z
This study design utilized was a quasi-experimental evaluation of patients that received treatment at an academic medical center. The objective was to determine if inpatient addiction services that were provided to 390 high risk participants ultimately improved substance use outcomes. Using Addiction Severity Index (ASI), taken by participants 30 days after being discharged, a score was recorded. These scores, and the results from data collected in other similar research in substance use disorder treatment will be compared to see which is most effective.

Describe the new employment opportunities in areas like factories, offices, and in department stores that opened up to women, as well as professions like teaching, nursing, and social work, to name a few.
Essays should be about five pages in length, double-spaced with one-inch margins, and be typed in a normal size font. In each essay, you should introduce your topic and establish a thesis—an argument, in your opening paragraph, and throughout the body of the text, provide detailed data to defend your thesis. Lastly, in your concluding paragraph, summarize your main points.
The new industrial/urban order of the late nineteenth and early twentyish centuries ushered in many changes to the lives of American women, with many of them gender bending or even breaking developments. Describe the new employment opportunities in areas like factories, offices, and in department stores that opened up to women, as well as professions like teaching, nursing, and social work, to name a few. Furthermore, discuss the various progressive reforms that women became involved in—for example in settlement houses, the National Consumers League, the Women’s Trade Union League, and the two largest female causes, temperance and suffrage through organizations like the Women’s Christian Temperance Union and the National American Women’s Suffrage Association, which eventually led to the ratification of the eighteenth and nineteenth amendments.
Does the United States Need a Dedicated Cyber Service?
Requesting an introduction for a thesis. The research question is below:
The emerging state of strategic thinking about cyber conflict today shares many similarities with the early days of the nuclear age when concepts of nuclear deterrence and warfighting were just forming. Establishing a new Cyber Force would speed up that process and promote new thinking on cyber warfare, cyber deterrence, and cyber defense. With most competitor nations developing their own Cyber Forces and enhancing their capabilities, does the U.S. need a separate U.S. Cyber Force that would be prepared to effectively contest those nations and meet the challenges of future warfare?
