Budget Proposal Strategy

Step 1: Review Summative Assessment Instructions Carefully

Throughout this course, you will work on a budget proposal for a criminal justice agency of your choice. You are to select a criminal justice agency that is not your current place of employment. Most budgets have areas that are susceptible to challenge. Your task is to strategize a budget that addresses one such challenging area. This week, you research budget proposals to locate an example of a budget issue and then create a strategy to address that issue in the budget. In Week 4, you will incorporate feedback on your strategy as you create a final budget proposal. In Week 5, you will write a reflection on the budget proposal process.

Step 2: Research

As you develop a budget strategy and prepare to create a budget proposal next week, perform an internet search for templates and examples of the following:

Budget strategy
Budget proposal
Cost worksheet

Research budget proposals from various criminal justice agencies. These are typically available publicly on the organization’s website or may be provided on request. In your research, look for trends in budget issues. Be sure to look at public sector funding and local and federal policies that impact budget planning.

Step 3: Selection of Budget Issue from a Specific Agency

Based on the budget issue trends you’ve found, select one budget issue that you’ll address in your own budget proposal for a criminal justice agency of your choosing.

Step 4: Create a 1,050- to 1,400-word budget strategy for a criminal justice agency of your choice. This strategy will inform the budget proposal you create in your Wk 4 assignment. Address the following in your strategy:

Provide an overview of the budget issue you chose and why you consider this an important issue for your selected criminal justice agency to overcome in the budget.

Explain how the budget issue might be different at a different level (i.e., state or local). Would it be applicable?

Explain your approach to the budget issue. Address the following:

Identify 2–3 suggestions on how to improve the budget issue.
Explain how governing policies may affect your approach to the budget issue.
Explain how public sector funding may affect your approach to the budget issue.

Detail your strategy for compiling your budget proposal and how it will address the budget issue.

Draft the cost worksheet that will be included in your budget.

Note: You may wish to organize this assignment in an outline format with tables to make it easier for you to transition information into your Wk 4 – Budget Proposal assignment.

Step 5: Cite a minimum of 2 peer-reviewed sources.

Step 6: Format your paper consistent with APA guidelines to include, at a minimum, the APA cover page, Introduction, level headers/titles for each required assignment discussion point, Conclusion, and Reference page.

Step 7: Run the paper through Safe Assign and ensure that Similarity Index is under 22%; double-check that all grammar and spelling are correct.

Step 8: Submit your assignment

Why are sampling distributions important to the study of inferential statistics? In your answer, demonstrate your understanding by providing an example of a sampling distribution from an area such as business, sports, medicine, social science, or another area with which you are familiar. Remember to cite your resources and use your own words in your explanation.

discussion about patient diabetes with hypertension

L.N. is a 49-year-old white woman with a history of type 2 diabetes, obesity, hypertension, and migraine headaches. The patient was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes 9 years ago when she presented with mild polyuria and polydipsia. L.N. is 5′4″ and has always been on the large side, with her weight fluctuating between 165 and 185 lb.
Initial treatment for her diabetes consisted of an oral sulfonylurea with the rapid addition of metformin. Her diabetes has been under fair control with a most recent hemoglobin A1c of 7.4%.
Hypertension was diagnosed 5 years ago when blood pressure (BP) measured in the office was noted to be consistently elevated in the range of 160/90 mmHg on three occasions. L.N. was initially treated with lisinopril, starting at 10 mg daily and increasing to 20 mg daily, yet her BP control has fluctuated.
One year ago, microalbuminuria was detected on an annual urine screen, with 1,943 mg/dl of microalbumin identified on a spot urine sample. L.N. comes into the office today for her usual follow-up visit for diabetes. Physical examination reveals an obese woman with a BP of 154/86 mmHg and a pulse of 78 bpm.
Questions
What are the effects of controlling BP in people with diabetes?
What is the target BP for patients with diabetes and hypertension?
Which antihypertensive agents are recommended for patients with diabetes?

What do you think/predict about how Zika will spread across the United States? Why?

Example of a well-written discussion post.

1. General thoughts. I really liked this paper because it
opened my eyes to an aspect of biology that I had never known before. Blah,
blah, blah.

2. Comments from the related literature. Jones et al. (2020)
reported similar results and extended those from the assigned paper.
Specifically, they showed blah, blah, blah. In Figure 3, the RNA-Seq analysis
showed that genes A, B, and C were upregulated under the conditions encountered
by the bacteria in the bloodstream.

3. Literature cited. (Primary) Jones, A.B., Smith, E.F., and
Harvey, R.A. 2020. RNA-Seq analysis of E. coli in the bloodstream. Infect.
Immun. 21:306-320.

• If you complete part 1, you get 8 points.

• If you complete part 2 citing and discussing a primary
research paper (not review) along with an appropriately constructed literature
cited, you get 9 points. If you cite a review article, you get 8.5 points.

• If you cite the data from a table or figure of a primary
research paper (not a review), you get 10 points.

• If you fail to follow the instructions for posting a
discussion, you lose 1 point for every noncompliance.

• If you submit your discussion one week late, you get half
credit. After that, you get no credit. Late homeworks are not penalized.

• If you plagiarize, you will get 0 points and you will be
