Write up the “case study” which is the story of your character.

“The Cultural Other”
In this paper you will create a character and a sort of case study. This is not a research paper about a culture nor is it a story about an actual person. You are creating a character who will allow you to apply the concepts we have studied in this course. You want to create a realistic character, not a cartoonish version of a fictional person.
Research the history and traditions of a culture that is of special interest to you. You should research the arts, musical traditions, literature, significant historical events, and religions of your chosen culture. Recognize that this does not make you an expert in the culture and that you are essentially visiting this culture.

Armed with this background, create a portfolio of an fictional person from that culture. The result will be a sort of case study of this created person. Decide on the age, gender, socioeconomic class, family situation, and community role of the individual, as well as a personal crisis the individual has involving culture. It is not to just be a crisis. It must involve some cultural component.

Write up the “case study” which is the story of your character. Include a key historical event that has some influence on the character’s life. This means some event in history (e.g. the American Revolution) that either directly affected your character or affected their family and their personal history in some way.
Analyze how this historical event affected the character’s psychological development. Remember that you are focusing on the character’s development, not the historical event. Remember that this is a psychology course and so the focus should be on those concepts and aspects of the character’s life. Be sure to use specific concepts from the course readings and apply them to your character. You are analyzing (the why) and applying concepts. You are not just writing a story. The psychological analysis and application is the most important component.
The paper should be at least 5-7 pages, double-spaced, (1250-1500 words, not including the title page and reference page. That means the paper will be 6-8 pages total). You must use APA 7th edition, student format for the title page, in-text citations and for the reference page. You must use at least 4 peer-reviewed journal articles. Those should be integrated into the text, not just appear in the reference page. Standard English is expected. Review rubric before submitting.

Write a paper on the effect of Abortion

Write a paper on the effect of AbortionThe essay should be at least 7-10 pages in its main text,
“exclusive” of:

(1) the “improved and refined” version of Abstract (w/ title)
at the beginning, and

(2) the Bibliography at the end.

——————————————————————-
on the font:

You should use the standard: double-spaced with font of 12
points in normal letter size.

——————————————————————-
on Abstract:

As far as the Abstract at the beginning is concerned, it should
contain the following 3 statements:

1. nature of issue or question you’re addressing
2. your “conclusion” as an answer to the issue
3. your reasons, that is, “premises” for your conclusion

You are “strongly recommended” (not required) to add to this
beginning page for the Abstract what has been referred to as
“R & E” throughout the course:

Given that the above conclusion and the premises should
constitute a full-blown “argument,” you may certainly try to
lay it out in a linear or hierarchical “Reconstruction” (and
even “Evaluation”), as was studied in Part 4. Ethical
Reasoning & Argumentation. This enriched additional feature
of Abstract will earn you higher points than otherwise.

1)Abstract:

Abortion is an ethical dilemma that is truly complicated when it comes to justifying the act as a whole. It’s one of those topics in which both sides of ethical standards (Kantian and Utilitarian) have strong perspectives as to why the topic is a dilemma in the first place. When the word comes to mind, many more questions follow with the discussion in what may seem to be a never-ending paradox. But in order to come up with one in the first place, we must understand both sides of the controversy and what makes it so hard to conclude. While one can argue it’s an act nobody would ever want to have to commit, many find trouble answering.

What you find to be Keller’s three most persuasive arguments in relation to this topic of the relationship between faith and science.

This essay will explore Timothy Keller’s book, The Reason for God.
The idea of this essay is that you both (1) show that you understand Keller’s strongest arguments on a particular topic and (2) have an opportunity to share your perspective, which may or may not be in accordance with Keller’s. You must draw on at least two chapters of Keller, and preferably more. Obviously, in a short paper, you’ll have to be very selective and concise in what you choose from Keller and in your assessment of his arguments.
Choose one of the following options for this paper.
Option 1
A common argument against the Christian faith is that, on the one hand, it makes exclusive truth claims that are overly restrictive (addressed in chapter 3), and on the other hand, its followers are hypocrites who fail to live up to the moral standards set by those claims (e.g., loving one another, pursuing justice, etc.) (addressed in Chapter 4). Both of these are, in their own way, arguments against the boundaries which are established by the Christian faith.
Write an essay that includes:
Part I: Using direct evidence from The Reason for God, present Keller’s strongest arguments in favor of the boundaries which Christianity establishes for faith and action ( drawing from at least 2 chapters in Keller).
Part II: Provide your own brief assessment of whether you find Keller’s arguments persuasive. When providing your own perspective, give clear reasons why you find Keller’s arguments persuasive, only partially persuasive, or not very persuasive.

Option 2

A common objection to Christianity in modern western culture is that science has negated any need to explain the universe with “God,” and that God’s existence can’t be “proven” anyway. Keller discusses this issue in various ways in several chapters (addressed in chapters 6, Intermission, 8, and 9).
Write an essay that includes:
Part I: What you find to be Keller’s three most persuasive arguments in relation to this topic of the relationship between faith and science;
Part II: Provide your own brief assessment of whether you find Keller’s arguments persuasive. When providing your own perspective, give clear reasons why you find Keller’s arguments persuasive, only partially persuasive, or not very persuasive.
