PROJECT FOR Statistics

PROJECT FOR Statistics
(Project counts for 65 points)
Project Due Dates
1. Determination of type of data to be collected, and a statement as to what the mean
value or proportion is expected to be. This mean value or proportion will be
considered to be a true population mean value, μ, or proportion, P, and it will be
your null hypothesis. Complete project with data analysis.
2 Determine the sample size required for a given margin of error. Even though the
sample size for this project will be at least 30 data points (for mean values),
calculate the required sample size. Calculate the sample size for a 90% and a
95% confidence interval. To do this, E and σ will have to be estimated. Think
about the maximum error of estimate (E) that is desired and the amount of
variability you expect to see in the data. For proportional data, only E has to
be estimated. Three percent is a typical value for E.
Elements of the Project
1. Collect the desired data (at least 30 samples). Describe when, where, and how the data
was obtained. Proportional data typically has a couple hundred values.
2. For mean values, calculate the mean, median, and mode for the sample set. Also
determine the variance and standard deviation for the sample set. For
proportional data, state the proportion and sample standard deviation.
3. For mean values, plot a frequency distribution histogram for the data. This will
require choosing the number of classes desired and determining the class width.
Show where the mean, median, and mode occur in the diagram. State whether the
distribution is approximately normal or if it appears negatively or positively
skewed. For proportional data, present a pie chart.
4. Using the sample standard deviation, use the formula for Confidence Limits and
calculate a 90% and 95% confidence interval of the mean.
5. Using the z or t test, make a decision to reject or not reject the null hypothesis.
Do this for both a 90% and a 95% level of significance. This could be a one tail
or a two tailed test.
6. Write a report corresponding to the above numbers. Present the report in a folder,
and be prepared to discuss in class. Was the null hypothesis accepted or rejected?

Volunteer Training

Create a volunteer training experience with a written and oral presentation along with a 1- to 2-page reflection in which you:

Present three ethical concepts in a written form by defining each and explaining the importance. Refer to the Learning Resources and at least two resources from your own research.
Use an effective written form that is easy to read and has an appropriate professional tone.
Choose a written form of communication for the training, such as: brochure, infographic, flyer, blog, newsletter, or other appropriate form.
Support and reiterate the written training in an oral form. Refer to the Learning Resources and at least two resources from your own research. You may use the same resources as in the written form.
Use an effective oral form that is easy to understand and has an appropriate professional tone.
Choose an oral form of communication for the training, such as narrated PowerPoint slides, recorded video presentation, recorded question and answer session, or other appropriate form.

Module 1: Introduction to Ethical Principles

Question:

2a. What are the main ethical issues for tele-mental health?
2b. Which parts of the American Psychological Association’s Code of Ethics best apply to psychologists doing tele-mental health?

Case study Ward. Polite

Include the name of the case and a brief description of the details surrounding the case.
Identify and discuss the moral/ethical principles involved in the case, explaining any ethical conflicts.
Discuss the potential consequences of all available options.
Evaluate the course of action taken by the court. Provide a well-reasoned response indicating agreement or disagreement with the court’s decision and why.
A separate paper will be submitted for each court case on the dates indicated in the tentative course schedule. Papers should be 3-4 pages in length, double-spaced, and written in APA format.

Financial Projections

Assignment: 3rd Step to the Final Project
This is step 3 of completing your Business Plan. It needs to be completed Week 4 and Week 5. Remember 2-3 paragraphs each section.
Financial Plan
A. Financial Projections
How will you fund the business?
What are your desired debt and equity position?
Who will provide capital debt funds?
What role will leasing play in your financial strategy?
Will you use outside investors for equity capital?
How will you manage the financial risks your business faces?
What operating procedures, such as developing cash flow budgets or spending limits, will you have to ensure adequate money for debt repayment?
What are the important assumptions that underlie your projections? These assumptions may be associated with both external or internal factors.
What financial aspects of your business (equity, asset growth, ROA, ROE, etc.) will you monitor?
What procedures will be used for monitoring overall business performance?
What level of performance will your business shoot for? These should be targets for next year and in five years. They should be financial performance standards used to monitor the overall business.
What yield and output levels could you attain? What efficiency levels will you reach?
B. Contingency Plan
What will you do if you can’t follow through with your primary plan?
How are you preparing for an emergency in your business?
How will the business function if something happens to one of the key members of the management team?
These sections will be added to the final business plan at the end of the course. Each section of the Business Plan needs to be 2-3 paragraphs some maybe more.

Physiological differences

Physiological Differences
After completing the assigned reading, it should be clear that there are significant physiological differences between men and women. Due to these differences, when drugs and/or alcohol are introduced to the body, the impact can also be very different amongst men and women. Many argue that the basis of drug and alcohol treatment is founded on research on men (without considering that the experience of women may be different). Describe at least two key considerations that should be implemented in treatment for women and explain why.

Addiction in women is discussed in this article from Harvard Health Publications (2010): http://www.health.harvard.edu/newsletter_article/addiction-in-women

Gender may affect susceptibility, recovery, and risk of relapse.
Until the early 1990s, most research on substance abuse and dependence focused on men. That changed once U.S. agencies began requiring federally funded studies to enroll more women. Since then, investigators have learned that important gender differences exist in some types of addiction.

Children are tech addicts – and schools are the pushers by Elaine Glaser

Maintain an objective, scholarly tone throughout the summary.
RESPONSE: Write an argumentative essay in response to Glaser’s argument (agree, disagree, or qualify). Use evidence from your own experiences, observations, and/or learning to inform/support your argument. As with any formal argument, your essay should include a clear introduction, body, and conclusion. Make sure to consider counterclaims, cite paragraph numbers following MLA conventions as needed, and maintain a scholarly tone.

Introduction to the plan, including geographic boundaries
Major coverage inclusions and exclusions (Medical, Dental, Vision etc.)
Costs to consumer for insurance under the plan (include premiums, deductibles, copays, prescription costs)
Health insurance plan ratings if available. If no ratings are found for this plan, include a possible explanation for this situation.
Evaluation of the health insurance plan-include your evaluation of this plan from two standpoints:
