Annotated Bibliography and Reflection

Annotated Bibliography and Reflection
During the last seven weeks of class, you have been asked to read several journal articles. You have been asked to reflect on your cultural identity as you consider the many levels that constitute your identity. You also considered attribution, dialectics, and how all of this is applied to intercultural communication.
For our final assignment, you will choose four articles from the articles you have been asked to read in class and/or from the article list provided for the Week 6 assignment to create an Annotated Bibliography. You will complete three items for each of your four sources:

1. Reference: Complete an APA reference for each article

2. Annotation: Complete an annotation for each article.
The annotation is not a summary or paraphrase. In this paragraph, you will interpret and evaluate the contents of the article itself. It is a narrative paragraph of about 100 words providing information and assessment about the article.
3. Reflection: Write a reflection for each article. The reflection should connect your intercultural communication experience(s) with information from the article as it applies to you personally (This section only can be written in first person).
In this paragraph of about 100 words, relate the information that you have evaluated in the article to your own cultural identity and intercultural communication. This is a reflective piece where you are able to connect the information in theory to an understanding of your own identity.

Team development program

Your “presentation” might include video clips, group exercises, simulations/role-plays, games, etc. The Library can be an excellent resource for you in doing your research for this presentation. You should strive to make your presentation time as informative and entertaining as possible for your colleagues. You will be graded both on the quality of the content delivered and on the quality of the delivery (for example, speaking quality, quality of overheads, creative learning techniques used, etc.) This assignment will allow you to demonstrate mastery of course material through formal presentation and through responses to questions.

The presentation-assignment is described in more detail below.

As leaders, develop a comprehensive training & development program that you would implement in the workplace, or elsewhere (a sports team? … a church-based team? … a social-action team? … a musical or dramatic “team”? … etc.). Your presentation should focus on your specific team, but it should also serve as a guide to your classmates as they form and/or develop similar teams. In your presentation you should include a formal training & development plan, exercises, and facilitation notes for the leader.

You should begin your presentation by describing in detail the purpose of the team you will be focusing on, its current “condition,” and what you hope to accomplish with it. Components of your training might include, but are not limited to, the following:

a. What are your recommendations for the direction the team should take?
b. How can/should a leader assist in the success of a team?
c. What resources will team members receive?
d. What is the estimated time frame for the teams to form, learn, and achieve cohesion after recommended actions?
e. How active will the leader be in the process of the team’s stages?
f. Describe how both positive and negative actions and relationships might best be approached.

Use this template as the first step in your research process. State your ideas as completely as possible but remember that your preliminary ideas are subject to change! Deliver a minimum of five sentences per entry but keep in mind the more detailed this proposal is the better will be your final project. Also, thesis statement, research questions, title and MLA sources need only be as long as necessary and are not mandated to be five sentences.….

Management Liability scenario

Week 5 Assignment – Management Liability Scenario
Overview
In this assignment you apply contract and product liability law to a business scenario.
Scenario
Mowers, Inc., a fictional company, has a flourishing lawncare business. The business has two full-time employees who have been with the company for five years. All employees are trained on using the lawn equipment and, upon being hired, signed a waiver-of-liability contract limiting liability for the company. The owner, Brian, tells his employees “Not to worry—the company will protect you!”
One employee, Lori, was on the job cutting a lawn. Lori was riding a mower, a Ferrari 2000, which was three years old and in good working condition. The step-up on the mower had writing on it with a warning sticker to replace the sandpaper liner for traction every three years due to normal wear and tear. It was replaced every three years as required.
Lori stepped down off the rider, slipped because of moisture from the grass, and severed her pinky toe on the mower blade. When she fell to the ground, the mower continued through the grass and proceeded by itself to cut and mulch a neighbor’s prize roses. Peta, the neighbor, was preparing for a rose competition with a potential grand prize of $10,000.
Consider the above scenario and write 3–4 pages in which you make the following determinations. Make sure to cite and explain the law for each determination.
Pursuant to contract law requirements, determine the legality of the waiver and whether verbal assurances become part of the written contract. Support your response.
Determine whether the plaintiff has a product liability case against the manufacturer for each of the following defects. Support your response.
Design.
Manufacturing.
Failure-to-warn.
Determine whether the employee has a claim for injuries and whether the employee can recover pain and suffering damages per tort or worker’s compensation law. Support your response.
Note:
Remember, you are demonstrating your understanding of the law, so explain the law first and then make your determination. Be informative and show what you know! References should be from credible and reputable legal sources.
