Objective: You will present the interpretation of imagery within a poem.

Presenting Imagery Imagery is the use of vivid and descriptive language that is meant to evoke any of the five senses in the mind of the reader. This sensation can be created through sensory language, simile and metaphor, or even sound devices such as alliteration.

Begin this assignment by reading the poems “Summer Night” by Alfred, Lord Tennyson and “Meeting at Night,” by Robert Browning, paying close attention to the use of imagery. You may have to read the poems a few times to fully catch and comprehend the literary devices used.

After reading the poems, you will create a slide show presentation to analyze the imagery used in each poem. You will need to analyze the imagery in each poem separately on slides, and then compare and contrast the similarities and differences between the imagery in the poems on a final slide.

Your presentation should include the following:

The topic for this researched paper will focus on the subject of “The American Dream.” Covid 19 has really altered many versions of the American Dream. We are going to focus on the version of American Dream Jim Cullen in Ch. 6 titles “The Dream of Good Life (III) The Coast.” This Dream has been significantly altered by Covid 19 because many career fields associated with this dream have been considered nonessential and therefore have been limited or completely shut down at times over the past year. Fields associated with this dream are the professional sports industry, music industry, movie industry, television industry, the vacation industry, etc. In your paper, you will define this dream using the structure and criteria below and end the essay by explaining whether or not this nonessential classification will permanently alter those pursuing this dream in these fields in the future or will these fields bounce back. You will use research to support your argument and will only focus on one industry in this dream. If you are using the professional sports industry, you may focus on one particular sport in your paper.
The length of this paper will be 4-7 (no more than 8 pages) double spaced 12 point font of actual text, not including the “Works Cited” page.
The paper will have a clear focus.
The paper will likely have two, three, or more major supporting points per paragraph.

Remember, this is a persuasive definition paper. Therefore, it must focus on persuading the audience of the definition of the American Dream in this instance and must not focus on an expository encyclopedia article about a historical event. In the world of media and acting there is a problem of accessing public records. Sometimes these companies, non-profits, and acting agencies will hide the records, pile them up, and eventually use it against you if a problem goes left.
Therefore, the following law will be introduced in the U.S. Senate:
It is largely illegal for media, acting agencies, and non-profits to use public information for raw unhidden reasons. I am proposing a law that the use of public records can’t be used for targeting their employees, when there wasn’t anything written in their contract/and or handbook.

Adam is a 17 year old single male who was born in Los Angeles, California, where he still lives with his mother and his brother. His dad is a sales rep and is on the road during the week.

I started drinking and smoking when I was 13, in the eighth grade. It was a total drag,

out were I was gonna get money for my next pack of cigarettes. Now I smoke about a
pack a day, plus a couple of joints too. I have a cup of coffee in the morning before
school and that’s it. At night I’ll drink 3 or 4 beers plus a few shots of vodka. On the
weekends is when I really get down to partying.
I’ve played around with lots of stuff. You know, trying to see what’s out there. I’ve
tried pot, coke, mescaline, XTC, mushrooms. I’ve even shot up a few times. It’s no big
deal. When I’m partying, I like to mix things up a bit. Maybe do some tequila and
mushrooms, depends on what’s going on and who’s around. If I drink too much I black
out. I’ve even OD’d a few times. But, hey, it wasn’t any big deal or nothing. I do like
speed though. If any drug is my favorite, aside from cigarettes and coffee, it’d be
‘speed.’
I saw a doctor when I was eight. My folks took me. They said I was out of control.
The doctor said I had attention deficit disorder and gave me Ritalin? . It helped a little,
I guess. I don’t know much about it. Right now, except for partying, I don’t take any
medication.
Then there’s my brother, a complete math ‘geek’. Always gotten good grades, never
been in trouble; responsible, dependable, healthy and clean. He’s a parent’s dream
and I’m his evil twin brother.”
