a referral for an elderly male with
congestive heart failure. Discuss how the
determinants of health (biological, psychological,

sociocultural, behavioral, and health system) can influence the client’s

Trace the etymology of the ten words from their oldest roots( from whatever source) into modern English. Show how the word developed or migrated through languages to get to English and their present meaning. Date it’s first usage and provide examples in your discussion of how it comes to its modern meaning.

There are a number of sources you can use on-line, including the Oxford English Dictionary ( available through the madden library), worldwidewords.org Wikipedia, wonderopolis.org, and thoughtco.com among other. I recommend looking at least three references per word. Please cite where your information came from with each of your 10 entries and include a bibliography at the end of your paper.

In this unit, you will communicate a healthcare advocacy plan. You will contact either a local healthcare agency (i.e., County Health Department, etc.) or healthcare facility (i.e., clinic, hospital, or nursing home) to research two to three healthcare issues affecting the local community.

Explain the issues facing your community, possible methods to alleviate the concern, and how you would ethically advocate for the respective population. You are required to research the specific issues presented with credible sources (e.g., Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, National Institute of Health, Census Bureau, etc.). In a 3-page paper, present a healthcare advocacy plan that addresses your research findings. Provide a summary of your findings, including at least three (3) credible references to support your advocacy plan in APA format.

Supreme Court Opinion Analysis (1) – You will be randomly assigned to a classic Supreme Court case that we are discussing this semester (list posted on Blackboard). Your job will be to write a seven-to-eight-page analysis of that case. Papers that are shorter than seven full pages or longer than eight full pages (double-spaced, Times New Roman, twelve-point font, one-inch margins, one space after periods) will receive an automatic length penalty of five points (in addition to any subjective deductions based on quality of work). A strong analysis will demonstrate that you have read all of the opinions, digested their arguments, and produced your own analysis of the opinions. What was the logic of the arguments? Were the arguments strong? Would you have come to similar conclusions, or would you have been on the opposite side of the question? You will not be required to cite any material beyond the opinions themselves. However, I strongly encourage you to consider other Supreme Court cases that may be helpful to your analysis, along with other sources that help you understand the facts and context of the case. Papers will be due April 5 and presentation dates will be randomly assigned.

For your journal entry this week, consider how you can overcome challenges in selecting and implementing the appropriate interventions. I am doing my Internship at UF SHANDS HOSPITAL IN gainesville florida, i will attach previous papers for this current internship. i work with 18 and older adults.

About This Activity
For this twist on a Reader Response, you will write a letter about your preliminary interpretation and review of the memoir MEAN by Myriam Gurba based on the reading you completed by the suggested DUE date. I am looking for: 1) specific textual evidence from the book that shows me you are reading the material about which you are writing, 2) evidence that you are thinking about the book (analysis), its connection to our course, and its impact on you as a reader (self-reflection), and 3) adherence to MLA conventions.
Note: Your letter must be 2 word-processed pages long (double-spaced) before you share it on the discussion board i.e., “send” your letter to your peer.
This is a 3-part assignment.
INSTRUCTIONS FOR PART I: WRITE YOUR LETTER (SUGGESTED DUE DATE 4/10)
1. Include the date of your letter and a salutation e.g., “Dear _____,” and so on.
2. Your letter should include (questions are simply examples of what you might consider answering):
reactions to the narrator, characters, and events
Which character(s) do you like or dislike? Why?
What is your favorite part of the book? Why? Be sure to explain the event carefully.
Explain how or why a minor character is important to the story.
Are the characters believable? Is the dialogue realistic? Is the action realistic? Are you able to form vivid mental pictures from the author’s descriptions and choice of words?

Does the author use any flashback, foreshadowing, or other techniques to give you important details in the story? How does this affect the story?
Did you notice anything about the language of the story that you particularly liked or disliked, found distracting or intriguing? What was it? Be specific.

Has anything ever happened to you, or to someone you know, that an incident in the book reminds you of? Be specific.
What issues in this memoir are similar to real-life issues that you’ve thought about, been exposed to, or had some kind of experience with?
How has the story clarified or confused or changed your views on any of the issues raised in the book?
3. Add a closing. All letters end with a closing. Usually there would be some sort of concluding sentence at the end of the letter, then skip two lines and write a closing word like “Sincerely” or “Yours” followed by a comma, and then below that, your signature. Because your letters are to peers, you may choose to write something less formal.
PART II: RESPOND TO EACH LETTER FROM YOUR PEERS (SUGGESTED DUE DATE 4/15)
Again, use the format of a letter and open with a salutation. Thank your peer for their letter, then begin your response: What do you think about what your peer shared in their letter? What points strike you as interesting or needing clarification? Are there assertions you agree or disagree with and why? What connections or additional insights might you offer? Etc.
PART III: RESPOND TO THE RESPONSE (SUGGESTED DUE DATE 4/17)
After you’ve finished the book, refer back to your initial letter. Share with your peers how your thinking has evolved since you first wrote/responded.
Keep the correspondence going as you see fit!

About this Project
In this author study, you will develop an argument about the writer’s work.
You’re not aiming for a biography of the writer or a summary of the work you’ve read.
Rather, you want to say something important about how the writer uses a particular theme, idea, or event. You want something substantial. A thesis statement could look something like this: In the memoir, The Children of the Land, Marcel Hernandez Castillo challenges preconceptions of DREAMers to varying degrees of success.
This author study (2 – 3 pages) should make a strong argument and use textual evidence. Careful attention to the material and a strong thesis are essential, but you should also plan to attend to writing conventions that assist your argument, such as topic sentences, transitions, and mechanics of presentation.
I encourage you to consider your pre-readings about masculinity and trauma as well as any of the author’s poetry (he is primarily a poet and a lot of his work can be found online).
Please include a Works Cited page.
