Sections

Title Page
Title Page must be in APA format.

Part 1- Your Field
Introduce your field. You should assume that your instructor knows nothing about your program, your chosen field, etc. Educate us on what your chosen career is! Ex. If you’re in Cosmetology, explain what that is, what a cosmetologist does, the requirements to become a cosmetologist, etc. At the end of this section, explain what your future plans are with this career field.
Requirements: Minimum 1 Reference to an accurate description of your career field; this may be your program’s page on the Lanier Tech website.

Part 2- Psychological Concepts
This presentation will require you to discuss concepts from three chapters of your choice from the following selection:

Learning
Memory
Human Development
Thinking, Language, & Intelligence
Emotion & Motivation
Personality
Social Psychology

You are to then research the psychological concepts found within your 3 chosen chapters and describe some of them in your presentation (minimum 1 concept per chapter). What do these concepts discuss? Who were the important figures related to these concepts? What are the important experiments related to these concepts? Be sure to be specific in your presentation. Ex. If discussing the Learning chapter, I might select Observational Learning as a topic; I would make sure to discuss what modeling is and Albert Bandura’s Bobo Doll Clown Study.
Requirements: Minimum 2 Academic sources; one may be your book, one must be a peer-reviewed journal article from Galileo

Part 3- Thinking Critically
Provide a critical analysis of these concepts and how they relate to your field. Cite specific activities that you might do on the job, aspects of your career, and specific pathways you will take in your career. Then discuss how the concepts discussed in part 2 relate to the aforementioned subjects. For every psychological concept discussed in part 2, there should be at least one slide discussing how it relates to your field. Your final slides should discuss what you have learned about the field of psychology as a whole and how you will use that knowledge to enhance your performance in the workplace.

Reference Page
Parenthetical citations (author, date) must be used to cite sources internally. Sources are listed alphabetically by last name of the first author with second line of each citation indented. You may use a bibliography tool such as https://www.citefast.com/?s=APA to help you (select “APA format”).

What is the effect for accuracy of the model?

Follow the steps given in Machine Learning With R, Chapter 5, section “Example – Identifying Risky Bank Loans Using C5.0 Decision Trees.”
****
UCI Machine Learning Data Repository (http://archive.ics.uci.edu/ml) by Hans Hofmann of the University of Hamburg. The dataset contains information on loans obtained from a credit agency in Germany.****
Prepare a brief that reports the execution steps and outcomes of the C5.0 lab. In addition, the following questions will be addressed in the brief:
Change the percentages of training and testing data to 60% and 40%, respectively. What is the effect for accuracy of the model? Can you explain the outcome?
Use the caret package to automatically tune the trials parameter. Were you able to identify a trials parameter that increased the accuracy from previous attempts? Show your work and the final result.

Specifically, the following critical elements must be addressed:
Description of dataset in use
Description of purpose of R commands used
Demonstration of R command execution.

Guidelines for Submission: Each report submission should be one to two pages in length. The report should briefly describe the dataset in use and the purpose
of the R commands used. The report should also include screenshots demonstrating successful completion of R command steps listed for each lab assignment.
Reports should follow these formatting guidelines: double-spacing, 12-point Times New Roman font, one-inch margins, and citations, if any, in APA format when

Did you notice anything else, such as the person’s posture or voice, or mannerisms?

Data Workshop: Everyday Class Consciousness pg. 186
In this Data Workshop participant observation research to understand more about how we size up other people in terms of their socioeconomic status. Return to the section in chapter 2 for a refresher on ethnography/participant observation research methods. First choose a location to be the field site for your study; it should be a busy public place with a variety of passerby. You will want to be both a participant and an observer in the setting. So, for example, you could pretend to be waiting for someone at the airport, sitting at the mall, or standing in line at the post office. Next you’ll want to make some discreet but in depth observations about a small number of people in the setting. One way to take a simple sample of this population is to select every seventh or tenth person that walks by you. Spend several moments looking closely at him or her. Ask yourself quickly: what class status do you think this person holds? Don’t think too long at this point, just register your guess. Continue this process as you observe another three or four people. Now it is time to write some ethnographic field notes, preferably while you are in the field or as soon as possible afterward. Make sure to be as detailed as possible.
Consider the following questions as you analyze your data. What kinds of things did you observe about others that helped inform your evaluation of their class status- height, weight, race, age, gender, hairstyle, tattoos, piercings, watches, jewelry, or makeup? Perhaps their style of dress, the colors, fabrics, or logos on a t-shirt, hat. purse, sunglasses, or shoes caught your attention. Did you notice anything else, such as the person’s posture or voice, or mannerisms? If you observed someone on the street, did you see the car they were driving? What was its make, year, and condition? Did you notice any other status clues in any accessories the person had- a laptop or smartphone, a baby stroller or shopping bags? How did the setting itself influence your assumptions about their social class standing?
Your Assignment:
Conduct your participant observation research according to the instructions. Prepare some ethnographic field notes and upload them under this assignment post. In your response, be sure to note similarities and differences in the criteria set used by each group to determine the social class of the people they observed.

Art-based centers are inviting, self-contained spaces where children engage in creative activities, and are appropriate for every child. Each requires a clear purpose, a range of materials and activities, and a means of assessment or evaluation. While centers must take into account individual needs, interests, and levels of learning, there are unique considerations for children at different ages. As an early childhood teacher, put on your centers-based thinking cap to complete the follow parts of this assignment. You will want to refer back to Lesson 7 for support and guidance.
Part 1: Summarize how arts-based centers nurture children’s creative expression.
Part 2: Discuss how teachers must adapt arts-based centers for different age levels from toddlers to fourth graders.
Part 3: Discuss techniques teachers can use to manage a center-based environment in the creative classroom.
