Quantitative Analysis Research Assignment
Find a recent public opinion poll and (1)
summarize the poll result in “confidence interval” language. In other
words, describe the findings by including information on the percentage
or mean estimation as well as the sampling margin of error. If a poll
report did not specify the confidence level, assume that it was 95%. (2) Make sure that you provide the information
on the variable (or survey question) in the poll and the sample (such
as sample size and other sample characteristics) in your summary. (3)
Lastly, provide the link to the poll.
A Refresher on A/B Testin
In the attached article, A Refresher on A/B Testing, by Amy Gallo, the writer interviews author and college professor Kaiser Fung on the pros and cons of A|B testing and how marketers should use this technique in the age of digital platforms.
After reading the article, please respond to the questions at the end of the article in a carefully crafted essay not to exceed three (3) pages. Your answers must be as detailed as possible with references from the actual case and/or outside research.
Requirements and Format
Length: not to exceed three (3) pages double-spaced, typed, 12 pt. font, 1” margins.
Complete and upload your work in Microsoft Word format, not PDF and submit no later than 11:59 pm ET Saturday!
Submission must follow APA format
Submission must be original content written in your own words, i.e., from your thoughts, insights, reflections, ideas, and analysis, but supported with e-text materials and/or outside sources to substantiate, validate your thoughts.
All phrases and para-phrases must use in-text citations (APA style) and with full references on the reference page.
Research materials should be high-quality sources such as those available through the library’s online databases.
Supplementary materials (such as tables, figures, screenshots), can be present in appendices that are not included in the page limit, but their contribution to the report should be integrated within the main text.
An electronic copy of the case analysis must be submitted via Turnitin. Any similarities found in Turnitin above 25% will subject the analysis to be returned for no credit and may be subject to further discipline under the plagiarism policy of the College.
Are Some Children More Sensitive to the Quality of Their Environment than Others?
The concept of goodness of fit is discussed in your textbook regarding a child’s temperament and
parenting and other environmental factors surrounding the developing child. (This concept will
also be covered in class.) Keep that discussion in mind and read the article by Lionetti et al.
(2019) that was published in Developmental Psychology. (The pdf of this article is attached)
Write a 2-page, double-spaced paper, providing…
(1) the major finding(s) of this study (Look at the Abstract and the Discussion section of the
article) (0.5pts)
(2) factors that contribute to individual differences in environmental sensitivity according to this
article (Look at the Introduction (p.2389-2391) and the Discussion (p.2396-2400) sections of the
article; *please note that parenting is not an answer I am looking for—If you thought parenting is
one of the factors, you did not understand the main idea of this article) (1pt)
(3) your thoughts about environmental sensitivity and children’s development (1pt)
(4) your thoughts about the method of the study—participants, procedure, and measures
(Evaluate two of the three areas) (1pt)
(5) your thoughts about future studies that would help shed more light on this phenomenon (at
least 3-4 sentences to a paragraph) (1pt)
(6) Writing clarity/grammar (0.5pts)
Writing Assignments should be 2-2.5 pages (at least 2 full pages excluding name or course
information lines), double-spaced, with 12-point font, maximum 1” margins, and no quotations
(only your own words) and in an MS Word document format.
Grading: Your submissions will be graded based on the quality (thoughtfulness) of your
responses to the 5 questions listed above. Your submission will also be evaluated for writing
clarity. Do not use quotations. Do not copy/paste or plagiarize the article. Write the entire
paper in your own words. You must edit your paper before submitting it, checking for clarity (it
helps to read the paper outloud to yourself), as well as checking grammar, spelling, etc. Do not
write like you talk or text. Use appropriate, professional, written prose. Papers that do not meet
this standard will not be accepted.
*Points will be deducted if the paper is shorter than 2 full pages (-0.5 to -2 points)

Adverse Event or Near Miss Analysis
Administration of the wrong insulin and dose on a hyperglycemic patient would be the Near-miss event.
For this assessment, you will prepare a comprehensive analysis on an adverse event or near miss that you or a peer experienced during your professional nursing career. You will integrate research and data on the event and use this information as the basis for a quality improvement (QI) initiative proposal in your current organization.
The following points correspond to the grading criteria in the scoring guide. The subbullets under each grading criterion further delineate tasks to fulfill the assessment requirements. Be sure that your adverse event or near-miss analysis addresses all of the content below. You may also want to read the scoring guide to better understand the performance levels relating to each grading criterion.
Analyze the missed steps or protocol deviations related to an adverse event or near miss.
Describe how the event resulted from a patient’s medical management rather than from the underlying condition.
Identify and evaluate the missed steps or protocol deviations leading to the event.
Explain the extent to which the incident was preventable.
Research the impact of the same type of adverse event or near miss in other facilities.
Analyze the implications of the adverse event or near miss for all stakeholders.
Evaluate the short- and long-term effects on the stakeholders (patient, family, interprofessional team, facility, community). Analyze each stakeholder’s contribution to the event.
Analyze the interprofessional team’s responsibilities and actions. Explain what measures each interprofessional team member should have taken to create a culture of safety.
Describe any change to process or protocol implemented after the incident.
Evaluate quality improvement technologies related to the event that are required to reduce risk and increase patient safety.
Analyze the quality improvement technologies put in place to increase patient safety and prevent recurrence of the near miss or adverse event.
Determine the appropriateness of the technology application for a specific patient or situation.
Research scholarly, evidence-based literature to learn how institutions can integrate solutions to prevent similar events.
Incorporate relevant metrics of the adverse event or near-miss incident to support need for improvement.
Identify the salient data associated with the adverse event or near miss that is generated from the facility’s dashboard.
Note: Dashboard means data generated from the information technology platform that provides integrated operational, financial, clinical, and patient safety data for health care management.
Analyze what the relevant metrics show.
Explain research or data related to the adverse event or near miss that is available outside of your institution. Compare internal data to external data. Use resources such as the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ), Institute for Healthcare Improvement (IHI), and the World Health Organization (WHO).
Outline a quality improvement initiative to prevent the recurrence of an adverse event or near miss.
Explain, from an evidence-based viewpoint, how your facility now manages or should manage the process or protocol.
Evaluate how other institutions addressed similar incidents or events.
Analyze QI initiatives developed to prevent similar incidents. Explain why they are successful. Provide evidence of their success.
Propose solutions for your selected institution that can be implemented to prevent similar future adverse events or near-miss incidents.
Communicate analysis and proposed initiative in a professional, effective manner, writing content clearly and logically, with correct use of grammar, punctuation, and spelling.
Integrate relevant sources to support arguments, correctly formatting citations and references using APA style.
