Immigration and Citizenship Presentation

Assignment 3: Immigration and Citizenship: Presentation
Presentation – Due by 11:59pm ET on Sunday of Week 7
This week, we focus on the controversial topic of immigration and citizenship. As you learned there have been several distinct waves of immigration in U.S. history, beginning with the conquest of Native Americans by Europeans. From 1840 to 1860, 4 million immigrants entered the United States mainly from northwestern Europe, followed by another 25 million from 1880 to 1920. The “newest” immigrants are those arriving in the United States after 1960, some 24 million mainly from Latin America and Asia. For this assignment, students will demonstrate and expand their knowledge and understanding on immigration and citizenship.
Within the presentation, students will answer the following questions:
What are immigration and citizenship?
List four reasons why people immigrate/migrate to the United States.
Identify and discuss three United States immigration laws.
Explain how immigration has at least 3 positive impacts on the United States.
Explain how immigration has at least 3 negative impacts on the United States.
Discuss sociological views on illegal immigration. Apply three social concepts and one social theory. Sociological theories include functionalism, conflict theory, feminist theory, symbolic interactionism, and others as mentioned in our readings and materials.
Discuss three ways to improve legal immigration.
Do not use unverifiable, secondary sites such as Wikipedia, about.com, ask.com, and similar. Use our course materials, peer-reviewed journal articles from the library, and other scholarly sources that are no more than five years old.
Include at least 3 peer-reviewed journal articles no more than five years old. Also, include and apply what you learned from the textbooks and assigned readings.
The presentation should utilize sound critical thought and it should include appropriate APA in-text citations and full APA references at the end. To avoid academic dishonesty, as with all assignments and posts, most of the information presented should be in the students’ own words/voice.
The structure of the presentation must include the following:
— TITLE SLIDE (1 slide)
— BODY OF PRESENTATION WITH SUBHEADINGS TO IDENTIFY EACH SECTION 12 slides minimum; 16 slides maximum)
— REFERENCE SLIDE (1 slide minimum)
You may use a presentation program of your choice such as any of these which offer free use: Prezi, Powtoon, Adobe Spark, Google Slides, Canva, Visme, LibreOffice, SlideDog, HaikuDeck, or Powerpoint. Please attach, embed, or provide a link to your presentation to submit it for grading.

Theoretical or Conceptual Framework Week Six

Assignment Content – The Effects of Covid 19 Pandemic on Healthcare Leadership
The framework you included in your Chapter 1, either a Theoretical or Conceptual Framework, should have introduced readers to the relevant theories. In the Concept Review (Chapter 2), this section must be greatly expanded and should include subsections for each of the relevant theories or concepts, as well as discuss supporting germinal and current literature on those theories.

For this assignment, create a reference list of at least five sources that you will use to expand your Chapter 1 framework for your Concept Review (Chapter 2).

Proposal Topic Sheet – Improving the living conditions of captive animals in SeaWorld

Included in the links will be the Essay Outline that is to be followed, As well as the Annotated Bibliography with the list of citations that are also to be used. The Proposal Sheet topic description is also provided. The thesis that must be used is “CEO Mark Swanson can better serve the whales SeaWorld is providing shelter to by building bigger water habitats for the large animals living in captivity in SeaWorld.”

Why do lower class neighborhoods have a higher crime rate?

Final Paper: The paper should be typed, double-spaced, standard text and margins. Please place
the word count on the title page of your paper.
Your final grade will be reflective of the quality of the library research and the analysis of the literature in the paper. The object of this course for students to write an intelligent analysis, on a topic of their choosing, which integrates scholarly sources, synthesis of scholarly sources (literature review), and analysis of the literature (topic analysis assignment). Previous assignments are intended to be revised and used in the final paper. Please make ample use of your previous work—this will help you create a stellar final paper.
Requirements:
– 20-25 pages (double spaced, 12 point font)
– 25 citations, 15 scholarly and 10 of your choice (only 15 scholarly required for internship
students) (Annotations do not need to be included in final paper bibliography).
– APA or Chicago style in-text citations and reference page
Please also note that the previous assignments are used to help you start and develop your final project in a timely manner. These assignments can be used in an edited form in the final paper— for instance, the literature review, if written sufficiently the first time, could be a section in the paper. Likewise, the topic statement due at the beginning of the semester would be a good opportunity to develop the introduction to the paper.
Topic Statement: Students must submit a 2-4 page essay that identifies the topic of their project and the primary aims of this. In creating your topic statement, consider the following:
15 scholarly (or what is also called “peer-reviewed) sources (15 for internship students)
15 annotations (summaries described above) for each scholarly source
For students not completing an internship, list of 10 additional sources that will be used in the
paper (internship students will use their experience in place of these sources but are welcome to
include additional sources at their discretion).
All sources formatted in either Chicago or APA style.
A literature review is an essay—in this case, 10-12 pages—that organizes and synthesizes the sources found in assignment #2 (and your internship experience, if applicable) into a coherent and comprehensive exploration of what scholars have said about the topic, and the multiple ways scholars have approached the issue or attempted to solve the problem.
The purpose of a literature review is to:
– describe what is already known about your research topic
– organize sources to reveal common patterns, differences between scholarly “camps”, and
similarities amongst literature
– present history of issue/topic/problem identified in assignment #1
– state what we don’t know about your research topic (in other words, a “gap in the
literature”) Requirements:
– 10-12 pages in length (double spaced, 12 point font)
– APA or Chicago style in-text citations and reference page
– Answer the following:
o What is already known about your research topic(s)/issue(s)?
o What are the common approaches to your topic?
o What have scholars found about your topic?
o Where are the points of disagreement or divergence amongst scholars? o What is not known about your research topic(s)/issues(s)?
o Why is it important to study this/these topic(s)/issue(s)? In other words, what could be gained, in terms of solutions if we study this issue?
Once you’ve uncovered what scholars and others have said about your topic, the next step is to analyze your topic and provide your original insights into the topic/problem. For this assignment, students will complete a 5-7 page essay that states a position relative to the topic/problem identified and discusses the objections, assumptions, and implications of this position. Students also examine whether the proposed solution is feasible, and under what circumstances their proposed approach would work. This assignment allows students to bring in their own experience (and internship experience), alongside the scholarly sources, to better understand and articulate how we, as a society, might respond to the topic or problem identified at the outset of the course.
Requirements:
– 5-7 pages in length (double spaced, 12 point font)
– APA or Chicago style in-text citations and reference page

Project Part One Artifacts and Theme Selection

HUM 200 Project Part One Artifacts and Theme Selection Guidelines and Rubric

Overview: Your first step in developing Project Part One for the course is to identify the two artifacts you want to compare and the theme that is common to both artifacts. While you will analyze and compare these artifacts in

Theme: Examining the Humanities, you want to make some initial observations. In this step, explain how you see the theme expressed in both of your artifacts. Then, reflect on how the theme itself is connected or relevant to you personally. For example, is this a theme you find particularly inspiring? Has this theme been particularly relevant to a past experience?

Prompt: Choose two cultural artifacts to analyze. (The 2 artifacts are “I have a dream speech” by MLK Jr and Aaron Douglas “Let My People Go” the painting ). These artifacts may take the form of any artistic medium, such as literature, poetry, music, film, dance, painting, and sculpture, and so on. However, it is important to choose two artifacts that have been created by different artists and were created during different time periods (ex. separated by at least 50 years). Then, identify an initial theme (or themes) that is common to both of your chosen artifacts. You will analyze these artifacts and their expression of the identified theme in Theme: Examining the Humanities and Theme: Impact of the Humanities.
Specifically, the following critical elements must be addressed:
I. Describe the cultural artifacts that you have chosen. Consider questions such as these in your response: What is the name or title of the artifact? Who is the author or artist? What is the date or time period when the artifact was created? What is the cultural location or physical setting of the artifact? In addition, you could consider including a photograph or image of each cultural artifact, if they are visual artifacts.
II. Identify at least one common theme that will serve as the framework of your exploration document. How is the theme expressed in your artifacts?
III. Reflect on how the theme you identified is related to your personal experience. For instance, you could discuss how the expression of the theme in your cultural artifacts is connected to you personally.

Rubric
Guidelines for Submission: Your artifacts and theme selection should adhere to the following formatting requirements: 1 to 2 pages in length, double-spaced, using 12-point Times New Roman font and one-inch margins. You should use current APA style guidelines (or another format approved by your instructor) fo

the situation? Why or why not?

evaluation with GROW model

Scenario
The organization that you are a director of leadership and learning for has been conducting engagement surveys among its employees every two years to gain a deeper understanding of employees’ views on areas such as customer service, the organization’s overall strategy, job satisfaction, rewards and recognition, and training and development. The most recent survey was conducted this year, and the organization wants to carry out another survey in two years.
Prompt
Your task is to evaluate the employee survey results using a GROW Model Template and identify several survey questions that will target leadership skill and behavior improvement for the next two years. You will also represent the trends you’ve identified with bar or line graphs. For this assignment, you will complete the first five sections of the GROW model template:
Identified Trends
Employee Survey Results Data
Focus Areas
Reality—Current State
Desired Future State—Where Would You Like to Be?
Specifically, you must address the following rubric criteria:
In the Identified Trends section, identify any noticeable trends in the Employee Satisfaction Survey Results data and address the following in your response.
Are there certain focus areas that have seen significant changes compared to others?
How might one focus area impact another?
In the Employee Survey Results Data section, create bar or line graphs from the employee survey results data that best represent the trends you’ve identified above.
In the Focus Areas section, identify three focus areas to improve the organization based on your evaluation, and provide rationale.
In the Reality—Current State section, explain the current state for each focus area you’ve identified above according to the employee survey results. Consider the following in your response:
The potential impact on survey results over time, the “why.”
In the Desired Future State—Where Would You Like to Be? section, create a goal to address each focus area you’ve identified within the next two years, and describe the impact to the entire organization. Consider the following in your response:
The desired result should be 10% improvement for the next survey.
Guidelines for Submission
Submit the GROW Model Template as a Word document. Insert your bar or line graphs in the appropriate section. Please note that you should fill in all but the last two sections of the template for this assignment. You will complete the last two sections in Module Five.
