Browse the artist’s or architect’s work and choose one work of art or architecture that you want to analyze and write about. Take your time closely observing the art or architecture. Make notes about the art/architecture itself, the application of the style, the relevant historical or contemporary concepts applied in the art/architecture, and your response to the art/architecture.
Research the artist/architect, the work of art/architecture, and the style or art movement with which the artist/ architect is associated. For this assignment, your research must include at least two academic, peer-reviewed articles, videos or books in your Works Cited. You may find a research source like this from a gallery or museum website, a published art magazine or journal, an academic art website like smarthistory.org (Links to an external site.), an article or film in the SC Library collection, or a published book.
Research materials including online articles, examples of the artist’s work, and videos are available online via the Shasta College Library. Searching the Films on Demand or Kanopy catogories of Streaming Video Collections for your artist is also a great way to research your artist.
