The information must come from credible sources that you will find online. Peer-reviewed articles are preferred. For this assignment, you will be expected to pick high-quality, credible sources and use your critical thinking skills in order to not only summarize, but also to apply the information in these sources to real-life contexts. As part of your literature review you will need to critique and analyze the sources you use and then finalize by condensing the information contained in them.

Within the introduction, you will need to define extrinsic and intrinsic motivation and how they relate to real-life examples. That is, what are the effects of extrinsic and intrinsic motivation on the pursuit of goals, for example?

The body of your essay must focus on a critical review and summary of each of your sources. Here you will need to provide specific details related to how the study was conducted, such as the research methodology, the setting of the study, and who participated. Then, provide a longer summary of the results and main outcomes of each study.

While details about each study should be included, in the last section of your literature review essay you also will need to condense the existing knowledge from your sources in order to provide a general view of the information you have obtained from those sources. Based on the information on your sources and course material, write about the relation between both intrinsic and extrinsic motivations and life goals, in general. That is, what is the effect of being guided by intrinsic motivations in relation toward life goals? What is the effect of being guided by extrinsic motivations in relation toward life goals?

Provide a synthesis of the subject area that these studies are covering, as well as synthesize the implications from those findings and any further questions.

You must include a Works Cited section in APA style, as well as in-text citation throughout your literature review essay. This reference section does not count toward the 750-1000 word requirement.

As part of your research, you may refer to the course material for supporting evidence, but you must also use at least three credible, outside sources and cite them using APA format as well. CASE
A 26-year-old African American male Army Reservist was deployed to Afghanistan in June, 2010, for 6 months. He was medically evacuated from the war theater after an improvised explosive device blew up under the vehicle in which he was riding. The force of the blast propelled him upward, causing him to strike his head on the top of the vehicle. At the time he was first seen by the clinical behavioral health component of the Traumatic Brain Injury clinic, but because he developed symptoms of PTSD and was so anxious, they recommended he get help. He was restricting his activities because of his fears for his safety and was using alcohol to cope with his feelings. He was having nightmares almost nightly that caused him to wake with a pounding heart and profuse sweating. He would not go out in public without a concealed firearm and even had an incident when he became hyper-aroused and shot the weapon into the air. His parents were also concerned for his safety and they took the weapon and locked it up. His wife was very alarmed because of his nightmares and feared for her life. Because his wife insisted and his parents was worried, he decided to come to your clinic for help.
You work in an outpatient clinic that offers a wide range of treatment modalities. These include individual, family, and group therapy.

Within juvenile justice, the prosecutors have broad discretionary powers pertaining to which cases are brought before a court for formal adjudication. This prosecutorial discretion has been the source of much debate. Some scholars and media personnel maintain that prosecutors weigh far too many external variables extraneous to the specifics of a case in the decision of whether to bring a case before a court. Others assert that the discretionary powers of a prosecutor are intended to allow an attorney to weigh as many factors as are relevant as they make decisions regarding to the disposition of cases.

Using the Peak (2016) text, examine the debate surrounding discretionary decision making. State your view on whether prosecutorial discretionary decision making should perhaps be limited. Additionally, state whether you believe it serves the purpose of justice for a prosecutor to consider facts external to the specifics of a case in their decision to prosecute an offender.

During Winter Break, Alexa, Briana, and Lesley went to a small Mexican town near the Gulf of Mexico. On Friday night, the girls went to a restaurant. Alexa and Briana shared a pizza with ground beef, refried beans, cheese, and some vegetable toppings. Lesley ate a large portion of chicken fajitas. After dinner, Lesley brought her leftover chicken fajitas back to the hotel and stored them in the room’s refrigerator. Saturday morning, the girls ate bagels and fresh fruit. For lunch, the girls stopped at a deli. Alexa had a spinach salad with fresh strawberries, blueberries, and poppy seed dressing. Briana had a shrimp salad sandwich on a toasted multigrain roll. Lesley had a bowl of seafood gumbo soup. The young women were having so much fun that evening, they didn’t have time for a sit-down dinner, so they each ate a hot dog from a street vendor. When they returned to the hotel later that evening, they were a little bit hungry, so they shared Lesley’s chicken fajita leftovers after reheating them in a microwave. Between 3:00 and 5:00 a.m. on Sunday morning, Alexa and Briana each woke up feeling nauseous and bloated. They spent most of Sunday sick with vomiting and diarrhea. Alexa also had a very bad headache and chills. Lesley felt fine, but she was stuck in the hotel room taking care of her sick friends all day.
