Write a summary paper on Mexican Politics & Culture.

Topic: Your choice. Must be related to your field of study or a field of study you would
like to pursue. If you would like to explore a field of study different from the one you are
currently pursuing, that would also be acceptable.
Purpose: Your purpose with this paper is to select a researchable yet appropriately
complex topic, develop the topic using the RQA research assignment, use the drafting
process to write your way deeper into the topic/ exploring ideas and posing questions,
seeking answers (writing to discover/ speculate/ find out), and then use the revision
process to step back, define what specifically you are saying in the paper, and rewrite and
edit the paper to fit that purpose. Finally, you will use the editing process to make certain
you have not plagiarized, to cite sources, and to check issues of GUM.
Voice: For this paper, we will be trying on the voice of the “expert.” Through research,
you will make yourself an expert on this subject, and then you will enter the discussion
on the topic using the language and authority of the expert. For this paper, strive to
convey objectivity as you convey information.
Audience: Assume your audience is a neutral, uninformed group. It is your job as the
expert to explain the subject, define specific terms and ideas the general population

I have been focusing on the issue of the Supreme court and its supposed responsibility to remain neutral on all issues brought before it. The argument of those who feel there are true divisions noticeable between liberal/conservative views on their opinions, and the charade of “advise and consent” of whoever holds the majority in the Senate. I like to make the point that the court is truly taking on a more political role and hiding behind their assistance of remaining neutral and I’d like to provide a final paper that examines both sides of the argument. Write a paper discussing Mexican Politics & Culture.For this assignment you will be analyzing and critiquing a Mexican dramatic film or TV series. While some small amount of plot summary will inevitably occur, and you are expected to evaluate the film/series as part of your analysis, the primary focus of the analysis must be on constructing an argument on how it accurately (or inaccurately) captures elements of Mexican politics and society. In other words, you should not simply summarize what happens and say whether or not you liked it. Instead, you must relate aspects of the film/series to the reality of Mexican politics and society by citing specific examples in readings assigned for class.
