Discuss the impact, on your thinking, reasoning and judgement, of the organisational context that you work in.

Using a particular example from your professional experience, undertake a critical exploration of professional practice knowledge.

Critically examine the central elements of your practice ‘epistemology’.
Drawing on the theory underpinning practice epistemology, examine how your personal practice experience, empirical knowledge and life experience have influenced you in relation to this practice example.

Explain why the measure we chose to focus on is feasible and worthy of replication, and what disadvantages or drawbacks it has. Finally, conclude whether we should go ahead and promote it, and summarize the reasons why.
3. There is an example of an AP in there that you can draw on for the structure of its body section.
5. After the revision, the paper should have 2000 words.
6. The AP Rough Draft is the one that you should revise.

What could the private security personnel have done to prevent/mitigate the attack?

Module 7 Assignments

3. Review terrorist podcast
4. There is only one task: submit your work to the Turn-it-in dropbox by 11:59 pm on 3/17/2022.
Examining role of private security in protecting assets from terrorist attacks
There are five phases for any terrorist attack, specifically target selection, operational planning and preparation, plan implementation, escape and evasion, and media exploitation. One school of thought is to study terrorism and learn how terrorists think as a means of detecting, deterring, and mitigating terrorist attacks.
Paragraph 1: Consider a recent (2019-2022) physical attack by a domestic terrorist. In 2-3 sentences, describe the attack and the results (e.g., # deaths and injured; physical assets lost). Then answer both questions: 1) Why was this target selected? 2) What could the private security personnel have done to prevent/mitigate the attack? [Must cite Bjelopera, 2017 to support your ideas]
Paragraph 2: Consider a recent (2019-2022) cyberattack by a terrorist. 1) Why was this target selected? 2) What could the cybersecurity personnel have done to prevent/mitigate the attack? [Must cite Wilson, 2005 to support your ideas]
*Must use both articles (Bjelopera, 2017; Wilson, 2005) at least once to support Task 1 answers. You may also use one of the terrorist podcasts as an extra source.
Instructions for task: 1) answers for EACH paragraph must be at least 300 words; 2) must include both sources as indicated at least once using APA style citations; 3) must not quote from the readings, but instead you must use your own words (paraphrase); 4) cut-n-paste the instructions before each answer; 5.) must include an APA style reference list of the sources you cited in the text for both paragraphs; and 6) must post by the due date (3/17/2022 by 11:59 pm).
*My expectations include that you will provide answers consistent with the readings (see Announcement providing information on how to use and cite information). Do not provide snippets from the readings; instead, think about the answers and seek “support” from the readings. Support merely means that you found ideas in the readings that support your own–with no obligation that the readings state information precisely with what you believe. Indirect use of material means you are building on concepts, using concepts related to the readings, and/or blending concepts across readings.

Need help with APA style citations and reference list for this week?
In-text citations of the readings when starting a sentence would be:
Bjelopera (2017) blah blah blah.
Wilson (2005) blah blah blah.
In text citations of the readings when citing at the end of the sentence would be:
blah blah blah (Bjelopera, 2017).
blah blah blah (Wilson, 2005).
The proper way to cite the readings in a reference list is:

Write about why access to (or lack of access to) housing is related to racism.

Write about why access to (or lack of access to) housing is related to racism. As discussed, “Homeownership has proved to be both the doorway and gatekeeper to success and well-being in America. It is at the core of today’s racial wealth gap.” Discuss the significance of this quote by expanding on the explanation you gave in discussion 3 and write about how segregationist housing practices led to the racial wealth gap we see today. Pull evidence from Rothstein and at least one more of the following sources (citing a minimum of two sources from below) and discuss how Black Americans in particular have been affected. You may also compare this to examples of displacement or lack of access to fair housing or racial segregation experienced by other communities of color
Optional: You can connect these examples to gentrification in the Bay Area and housing displacement.

Write an essay on whether you believe one or more of Lakoff’s arguments are sound, strong, or reliable.

You will write an essay on whether you believe one or more of Lakoff’s arguments are sound, strong, or reliable. It is up to you to identify the argument. As a starting point for this essay, think of answering the below questions with Yes / No and then Why?

Do you believe an argument Lakoff makes in Moral Politics is effective?
Do Lakoff’s premises seem acceptable (truthful, reflecting reality)?
Do Lakoff’s conclusions seem valid? Do they grow logically from the premises?
Do you agree with Lakoff’s argument you’ve identified? Why or why not?
Are his conclusions his premises acceptable to you? Why?
Do you see any logical fallacies in his argument?
You will have to consider such things as premises and conclusions, deductive arguments, validity, soundness, inductive arguments, reliability, and perhaps even logical fallacies, all things we learn in Writing Logically, Thinking Critically, as they apply to Moral Politics.

You will need to find at least three (3) pieces of textual evidence that Lakoff uses as premises or conclusions in his argument. You will then argue if you think his argument is valid. Again, essentially, you are arguing if Lakoff’s arguments are effective.

Important: You are not being asked to analyze Lakoff’s content, but the effectiveness of his arguments. Essentially, you are arguing whether Lakoff’s argument is effective or not, (pick one) with textual evidence that proves why.

Explain how damage from the Hypothetical Threat could impact the Dependencies/Interdependencies between critical infrastructure sectors Existing Resiliency related to Continuity of Operations Consider how to Minimize Disruption that improves First Responder Safety.

I‌‍‍‍‌‍‍‌‌‌‍‌‍‍‍‍‌‍‌‌nstructions You must use the template I provided for this assignment since it will make it a lot easier for you. Failure to do so will result in a return of your paper for you to redo, a reduction in points, or both. I strongly recommend that you simply download it and then upload it under a different name, such as your last name, course number, and assignment number. Scenario: River is enjoying working in the section and asked you to provide some more information on the critical infrastructures you two have been talking about. You already had a good discussion on three more of the critical infrastructures. Now discuss the energy sector, information technology sector, and Emergency services sector. Determine which one of them you will use to discuss a physical attack, which one for a cyber event, and the remaining one for a natural disaster. River asked you to keep the format the same as last time since it worked really well in explaining various aspects of the critical infrastructures. You determined to use the following outline for each of the three sections (plus the overarching requirements): Description of a Hypothetical Threat (physical, cyber, or natural disas‌‍‍‍‌‍‍‌‌‌‍‌‍‍‍‍‌‍‌‌ter) Brief background on the Critical Infrastructure as it relates to National Security Elaborate on the known Risks/Threats/Hazards/Vulnerabilities from the Hypothetical Threat Explain how damage from the Hypothetical Threat could impact the Dependencies/Interdependencies between critical infrastructure sectors Existing Resiliency related to Continuity of Operations Consider how to Minimize Disruption that improves First Responder Safety. Technical Requirements Your paper must be at least 6 pages – 2 pages per critical infrastructure discussed (the Title, Abstract, and Reference pages do not count towards the minimum limit). Scholarly and/or credible references should be used. A good rule of thumb is at least two sources per page of content. Type in Times New Roman, 12 point and double-spaced. Students will follow the current APA Style as the sole citation and reference style used in written work submitted as part of coursework. Points will be deducted for the use of Wikipedia or encyclopedic type sources. It is highly advised to utilize books, peer-reviewed journals, articles, archived documents, etc. All submissions will be graded using the assignment rubric‌‍‍‍‌‍‍‌‌‌‍‌‍‍‍‍‌‍‌‌.
