Introduction to American Politics

Answer the questions below. You must answer both questions. Your paper must be
a minimum of 2000 words. With a proper citation (MLA, APA, Chicago Style),
Double-spaced and font 12.
Answer the questions in the successive order.
1- Why the Federalists argued for a republican form of state rather than “pure
democracy”? Considering the new modes of communications available today, is direct
democracy a possibility?
2-What is Howard Zinn’s critique of the framers of the constitution with regard to race,
gender, and class?
In order to answer these questions, you must refer to The Federalist Papers, No. 9
(pp. 66-71), No.10 (pp. 71-79), No.39, (pp.236-243), and A People’s History of the
United States (Ch.5, 6, 7).

The TigerStorage Optical Media Company has developed a new storage device for computers and must now decide what to do with the idea. The expected life of the product is eight years. One possibility is to immediately license the product rights to another company that will market and sell the product. The best estimate for this alternative is a payoff of $5.5 million in licensing fees. Two other possibilities are to build a large manufacturing plant now to produce the product or build a small plant now to produce the product with the option of expanding the plant in three years. The expected payoff from producing the product depends on the market acceptance of the product during the first three years and during the last five years. If the market acceptance in the first three years is low, TigerStorage will stop production and cut its losses at that point. Analysts at TigerStorage have estimated a 70 percent probability of high market acceptance in the first three years.
If the market acceptance is high in the first three years, they believe the probability of a high market acceptance in the next five years to be 60 percent. The following tables give the net payoff estimates (in $ millions) for producing the product:
Market Acceptance

Note: ( ) means a negative payoff.
Using these estimates, analyze which decision TigerStorage should make:
1. Perform a complete decision tree analysis.
2. Recommend a strategy to TigerStorage (which alternative would be most attractive?)
3. Determine what payoffs will result from your recommendation.

marketing discussion

Large public companies issue what’s called an “Annual Report” each year. This provides the investor with a lot of information about the company, including their financial information. This section of the report is called a “10K” and is filed with the SEC.
Identify and research a large service business in your pathway. It must be a large, US, publicly traded company on the Fortune 500 list. Don’t use a company that someone has already used. Access their most recent (less than 12 months) Annual Report/10K at the EDGAR filings at SEC Edgar search tool or Yahoo or Google finance. Please put the name of the company, in the subject line of your post. Include the URL of the report in your initial post.
Requirements:

Initial post:
Write a 3 paragraph discussion post with the following information:
Why are you interested in this company? What is your pathway?
What number are they in the Fortune 500 list?
What industry are they in?
What do they do specifically?
What is the date of the most recent income statement presented, what was the net income/net earnings on that statement for both the current year and the previous year? What was the percentage increase or decrease from the previous year to the current year?
What was something that you noticed or found interesting about your company that you didn’t know before?
If the statement is in millions, state it that way. This will be stated at the top of the financial statements.

Proper spelling, punctuation, capitalization, grammar, etc. are required.
Do not copy and paste any information. Your posts should be in your own words.

Marketing is my major.

American Statistical Association Resources
The American Statistical Association (ASA) offers many resources
for teaching statistics concepts in Grades K-12.
Visit the ASA site and review one resource listed. Select a

original response to the following questions:
·
Which resource did you
select to review? Why?
·
What state or local
mathematics standards are addressed by this resource? Explain the
connection(s).
·
On a scale of 1-10,
how would you rank the usefulness of this resource for middle school teachers
and students? Justify your response.
This discussion is aimed to promote the review of multiple
resources and professional discourse about the resources, so the only APA
citation required in the original response is that for the ASA site.

The general social survey

The General Social Survey

In this project, you will need to access the questionnaire from the General Social Survey, available at http://gss.norc.org/Get-Documentation/questionnaires (Links to an external site.).

Make sure to note the Sample and Ballot form of the questionnaire.
Browse through the questionnaire.
Based on your browse, suggest a research hypothesis. Identify at least two questions from the GSS questionnaire that measure the dependent variable in your hypothesis and each one of your independent variables.
Find at least three academic research articles that pertain to your hypothesis (try very hard to find other articles that have used the same variables, and with luck, the same questions from the GSS). Make note of different variables used in these studies.
Return to the GSS questionnaire, and locate questions that pertain to additional variables identified through the literature review.
Construct a series of testable hypothesis using questions in the GSS questionnaire.
Test the hypothesis using GSS data. If you have already had statistics, you may do this on your own. The GSS website also allows you to run some simple statistics. Otherwise, you may ask your instructor for help.
Write a brief report in which you analyze the literature, and present your findings from the GSS data set.
Complete in a word document with title page and reference page.
