Write a paper on Mathematical concepts in fingerprint scanners.
Write a paper on Mathematical concepts in fingerprint scanners.Your paper should address the following points. These bullets may be used as section headings in your paper, but are not required to be.
Introduction: Give a brief background/history of the technology. What is the technology? Why is it interesting? How is it used and who uses it, etc.? How does the technology compare to previous technologies that served a similar purpose?
How It Works: Give a high-level description of how the technology works. Of course, you are not expected to understand or discuss all details of the technology.
Problem Statement: Give, as clearly as possible, a description of a role mathematics has in the technology. Try to formulate it as a precise problem statement or question. For example, in our discussion of GPS, we formulated the precise problem of determining the number of satellites needed to identify your location.
Math Concept(s): What math concept(s) can be/are used to address your problem statement? You do not necessarily need to solve the problem statement; but you should discuss how these math concept(s) work toward solving it. You are encouraged to illustrate each math concept with a small example.
Make sure your math concept is not a physics or engineering concept (for example) in disguise, and is discussed at a level suitable for AMS 103 (e.g., familiarity with calculus cannot be assumed). Math concepts include geometry, statistics, number theory, coordinate systems, optimization prob- lems, information theory, inverse problems, algorithmic analysis, graph theory, integrals, differential equations, and many others. Arithmetic and an equation are too trivial of math concepts for this assignment.
Future: Speculate about the future of the technology, if it seems appropriate. How might it develop or improve? In your opinion, will it still be relevant in 50 years?
References: List your sources! These are likely to be webpages, but may not be. Wikipedia is not a trusted source and should not be cited. Instead, verify the information on Wikipedia in other sources and cite them. At least three or four sources should be cited.
– You should use MLA or APA formats for your references (your choice, but only pick one).
– Make sure to include the title, URL, date accessed, and author (if known) for each webpage.
– Referenced works must be written in English (implying that videos are unsuitable).
– You should have in-text citations to your works cited list throughout your paper to indicate the specific source of a statement in your discussion.
– Every resource in the works cited list should be referenced at least once in the text.
You should target the text of your paper to be between 3 and 4 pages in length (double-spaced, 12pt Times New Roman font, 1” margins). The “text” does not include headers, titles, images, or references, etc. The absolute minimum is 2.5 full pages of text. The text may extend onto a fifth page—especially if you use figures or illustrations—but should not go onto a sixth page.
Critically evaluate the challenges and opportunities for Tesco in securing supply chains in its international expansion strategy.
task 1
Given the context of Tesco’s main activities, what are the main issues prevalent in influencing its future internationalisation agenda? In your response, consider the issues for both the firm and the grocery retail sector in which it operates.
task 2
After announcing its entry to the US market in 2006, Tesco failed to sustain its presence in the USA and retreated in 2013. Critically evaluate the extent to which this was due to company firm-specific advantages and/or the lack of location advantages in the USA.
task 3
Identify: the geographic (country) targets; their historical sequence; and entry modes for Tesco’s international expansion to date. To what extent do these conform to established theory and thinking on patterns of international expansion?
task 4
Critically evaluate the challenges and opportunities for Tesco in securing supply chains in its international expansion strategy. Consider Tesco’s firm-specific advantages in managing its supply chains for competitive advantage.

What things did Stewart say in this speech that could have been seen as controversial at the time (early 19th century)?
Background:
In 1831, Maria W. Stewart, a black domestic servant from Connecticut, became the first known American woman to publicly speak before mixed audiences of men and women, white and black, about abolition and women’s rights. Around the age of 26 or 27, Stewart fell under the guidance of white abolitionist William Lloyd Garrison, who published several essays of hers in his abolitionist newspaper, The Liberator. The excerpt below is from her “Why Sit Ye Here and Die?” speech, given on September 21, 1832 in Boston. In this speech (which earned her a significant amount of criticism), she discussed the treatment of free African American women in the North and condemned the attitudes that denied black women education and prohibited their occupational advancement.
Assignment:
Read the excerpt of Maria W. Stewart’s 1832 speech “Why Sit Ye Here and Die?” Download “Why Sit Ye Here and Die?”Then, in a minimum of two (2) well-developed paragraphs, address the following analysis questions:
1. What is/are Stewart’s main argument(s) in this speech? Use at least one (1) example from her speech to support your claims.
2. What things did Stewart say in this speech that could have been seen as controversial at the time (early 19th century)? To put another way, can you see anything in this speech that might explain the criticism she received? Be sure to use examples from the speech to support your claims.
Citations:
Stewart’s rhetorical style was similar to evangelical preaching, so some of her speech can be challenging to read. When addressing the above analysis questions, I’d prefer you paraphrase Stewart whenever possible – put her ideas into your words. That said, paraphrases will still need an in-text citation. For this assignment, your citation should look like this:
(Stewart, page #)
I do not need a work cited page.
Create a chart in which you define and list the benefits of Sheltered English Immersion, Structured English Immersion (SE), and English as a Second Language (ESL) Pull-Out/Push-In.
Assessment Description
Students whose native language is something other than English are the fastest growing population in schools today; however, most school systems do not have the resources or professionals to implement bilingual programs. English-based programs use English as the medium language of instruction while offering English language learners (Ells) the strategies and scaffolds needed for access to instruction. Educators should be aware of the benefits of each program model so that effective instruction is provided.
This assignment has two parts:
Create a chart in which you define and list the benefits of Sheltered English Immersion, Structured English Immersion (SEI), and English as a Second Language (ESL) Pull-Out/Push-In.
In 150-250 words, identify which program would be best for your current school or school in your local area and justify your choice including school demographics and current test scores.
Support your assignment with 3-5 scholarly resources.
While APA format is not required for the body of this assignment, solid academic writing is expected, and in-text citations and references should be presented using APA documentation guidelines, which can be found in the APA Style Guide, located in the Student Success Center.
This assignment uses a rubric. Review the rubric prior to beginning the assignment to become familiar with the expectations for successful completion.
You are required to submit this assignment to LopesWrite. Refer to the LopesWrite Technical Support articles for assistance.
Write a paper applying Verdict & Dadaist Perspectives to a Modern Problem.
Write a paper applying Verdict & Dadaist Perspectives to a Modern Problem.Directions:
• Verdict and Dadaist philosophies are meant to provide practical wisdom for handling daily human challenges and navigating big cosmic topics like ethics, happiness, and mortality.
• This exercise has you experimenting with two different lenses as you analyze a modern problem (objective or subjective).
• Follow this process below to write Think Piece #2.
o Note: It’s important to start with the problem itself so you are pre-focused on what part of these teachings might be most effectively applied in solving the problem (or at least in helping one navigate the problem from a more productive standpoint).
1) Pick a modern problem to be solved, either objective or subjective.
• CHOICE #1: For instance, an example of an objective modern problem could be America’s response to the COVID-19 crisis, the fact of our national debt, our strained relations with another country/leader, environmental problems caused by global warming, etc. Use your imagination to choose a relevant problem.
• CHOICE #2: An example of a subjective modern problem could be the struggles inherent to parenting multiple children while completing college classes, battling an illness or ailment despite being expected to perform at one’s best, experiencing social pressure from peers or another source, failing assignments due to procrastination/lack of preparation, being indecisive about one’s career path, etc. Use your imagination to choose a problem interesting and relevant to you.
2) Pick one passage each from Norton’s selections representing Vedic/Hindu philosophy and Daoist philosophy.
You will apply the perspective represented by your passage to your situation.
• Pick one from each philosophy that seems to address the problem suitably. Don’t try to force a perfect fit.
o Reflect on how the lesson embedded in the Vedic/Hindu quote would affect how the situation should be handled. Take your own notes to organize your insights before writing. Make sure to internally cite what you reference and add a Works Cited entry at the end of your assignment.
o Likewise, reflect on now the lesson embedded in the Daoist quote/passage would affect how the situation should be handled. Take your own notes to organize your insights before writing. Make sure to internally cite what you reference and add a Works Cited entry at the end of your assignment.

This means your Think Piece will require one quote from The Bhagavad
Gita (pp. 1278-1294), and one quote from either the Daodejing (1341-1349) OR a Zhuangzi
story (pp. 1371-1397).
▪ If you pick a Zhuangzi story, just paraphrase (and cite) its takeaways (instead of quoting the whole story) to apply it to your situation. Make sure to internally cite what you reference and add a Works Cited entry at the end of your assignment.
