The focus of this week is understanding the different sampling techniques, the types of research they are used for, and the benefits and limitations of each one. Using the research article for this week (Bornstein et al., 2017), respond to the following prompts (200 words minimum, per response). You can reference themes presented in both the textbook and article, with appropriate citations and summaries.
In the article, Bornstein and colleagues discuss arguments for and against the use of jury simulations. Jury simulations are the use of individuals acting as mock jurors, rather than studying jurors directly (which can be hard to do). What are the benefits and limitations of using jury simulations for a sample, when it comes to both sampling and generalizability? Note: You do not have to follow the findings of the research article, but can use the findings to support your argument.

Structure
A scholarly paper always comprises three major segments: the introduction, the body, and the conclusion. Begin your writing by making an outline to sketch out the parts of your paper. An outline will demonstrate whether your arguments are logical and lead from the introductory section, which defines the issue, to your conclusion. It also indicates any future research needs or practical applications you will have identified.
Abstract
The abstract is a summary of the key points presented in your research paper. It should be 100-150 words and should appear at the beginning of your paper. It is, however, easier to write the abstract after you have finished writing the rest of the paper.
Introduction
The introduction to your paper addresses the following questions in a scholarly manner:
What do you intend to do? What issue(s) will you discuss and from what point of view? Be specific, mentioning not only the theme of your paper, but also any unique aspects of that theme that you plan to address.
Why is it worth doing? What is the importance of this issue, and how does it fit into the area of social psychology?
What approach will you take in addressing your topic? Here you will need to explain your strategy, which might be to examine a particular theory or body of research, to compare several theories, or to consider the relevance of some particular theory or body of research to everyday reality.
What will be the limitations of your research and your discussion? The length of your paper will most likely limit the extent of your work. This section should define what you will and will not cover. Be sure to note any obvious relevant variables that you will have to omit.
Body
The body of your paper is where you do what you said you would do in the introduction to your paper. Pay attention to the clarity of interpretation and the relevance of the theories, concepts, and research findings to social psychology. Any quoted material and any ideas attributable to someone else must be acknowledged in proper in-text citations, and must be listed in correct reference format at the end of the paper. Refer to the APA 7 Style section in the Assignment section of the course site.
Conclusion
The conclusion of your paper reviews the relevance of the topic to social psychology. In it you summarize the argument you have developed and include any suggestions you may have about what should be done with your work or about what further research is needed.

The Occupational Safety and Health Administration’s (OSHA) Process Safety Management of Highly Hazardous Chemicals (PSM) standard (29 C.F.R. § 1910.119) contains requirements for the safe management of chemicals for facilities that exceed OSHA’s threshold quantities for highly hazardous substances. This standard requires the establishment of a PSM program that contains 14 elements for the safe management of hazards associated with the use, storage, manufacturing, handling, or moving of highly hazardous chemicals.

You have recently been promoted to the position of health, environmental, and safety (HES) manager at Marz Pulp and Paper, Inc. (MPP), a pulp and paper manufacturer that is located in the Pacific Northwest region of the United States. The company employs 120+ management, supervisory, operations, and ancillary personnel, including contractor employees.
from 15 different companies. MPP uses the kraft pulping process to convert wood chips to a pulp for use in their paper production process. The pulp mill is considered a covered facility pursuant to the PSM standard (29 C.F.R. §1910.119). You have been accompanying an OSHA inspector this past week on a PSM inspection of your pulp mill process facilities, including the review of all PSM-related operating procedures, process information, hazardous material, mechanical integrity inspection, and incident and training records. Your MPP management team is not familiar with the requirements of OSHA’s PSM standard. Although it will be several weeks before OSHA provides the formal PSM inspection report and findings, you plan to proactively schedule an internal follow-up meeting with your management team and operations supervisors to prepare them for what to expect, including possible citations and fines for violations of the PSM standard. 1. Discuss the purpose of OSHA’s PSM standard, including why it was initially implemented and its scope. Explain why MPP’s pulp mill manufacturing process is considered a covered facility under OSHA’s PSM standard. Based on the OSHA 8-hour permissible exposure limit (PEL)/time-weighted average (TWA) for your three identified oxidizers, which one would pose the greatest threat to human health? Explain why, and elaborate on how you should respond if this oxidizer is accidentally released.
