so what?

Ramadan is a traditional holiday celebrated by Muslims every year; it is a time for spiritual reflection and growth, to help those in need, and to spend time with loved ones. It includes fasting during daylight hours for a whole month of Ramadan. When I was eleven I moved to the U.S. with my family. As a kid it was quite difficult at first because the culture shock and the way people lived around me back home was very cultural and religious based. I did not really fit in at school. I would get questioned about the food my mom packed me for lunch as it was different from their normal. As I got older it got easier even though most people around me were not knowledgeable about Ramadan and how it really is. I would always look forward to all the delicious food my mom made including Zorbian, Sambusa, falafel, etc.
My favorite food during Ramadan is Sambusa as it consists of cheese, potatoes, or a meat of choice wrapped around a thin layer of bread as it is fried after that and melts smoothly in your mouth. I used to stand in the kitchen and watch my mom cook when I was younger and I loved learning about the different types of food and how to set it up when it was done. When the food was ready and it was time for Iftar we would all sit around the table and say a Dua before eating and it is a great way to spend time with loved ones. The hard part was most people around me had completely different cultures and values and they did not really understand the point of Ramadan and why it was significant so the would make remarks like “that’s basically starving yourself” or “Oh my you don’t eat for a whole month” questions get overbearing when the person is not knowledgeable about other cultures.
Parents should learn how to educate their kids on different backgrounds and cultures to lessen the miscommunication between kids at school and bring down bullying between kids at school which are caused from a lack of example and education to some of these kids that do not have a full understanding of different values and cultures besides their own.

What would be the consequences of the law in France on the labor market?

In 2006, the French government adopted a proposal for a new bill on immigration and integration which provides for the promotion of “selective immigration” through the introduction of a new type of residence permit for “skills and talents” to be granted to immigrants whose personalities, abilities and projects may contribute to the country’s economy. This new bill is aimed at attracting talented and skilled immigrants whose knowledge and skills are needed. At the same time, the new law proposes tougher controls on the immigration and settlement of unskilled people.
1- Argue for and against the French approach to attracting and keeping skilled and talented immigrant labor.
2- Are the new policies of discrimination between skilled and unskilled immigrants ethically and morally acceptable?
3- What would be the consequences of the law in France on the labor market?

Keep in mind the overall theme: Design, implement, share, and evaluate care plans for species. (This is what the manual should reflect in its entirety!)
Students must be clear as to what kind of facility they are writing about. In other words, the facility has to be in line with others already in existence – not a fanciful, idealistic one.
Project can be modeled after employee handbooks students have encountered that outline best practices as well as rules and regulations.
Students are to refer to the rubric to ensure all elements are included in their projects and contact their instructor with any questions pertaining to point values.
Recall employee manuals you have encountered in the workforce. The writing style should be informative and succinct – not flowery or conversational – but not sterile.
Beware of “unintentional” plagiarism. Be sure to put things in your own words. When paraphrasing make sure to cite appropriately. OWL resources on APA citation are available via the Writing Center, library, and/or at your instructor’s discretion.

What is the rule of confidentiality, and how does it differ from respecting someone’s privacy?

Confidentiality in Adolescent Patients
Katrina is a 13-year-old female who presents with complaints of nausea and vomiting for 3-weeks. She is accompanied by her mother who is concerned and states, “Katrina is just not herself lately.” Her mother shares with you in private that she is concerned Katrina is bulimic. After her mother leaves the room, Katrina admits to being sexually active and tells you that she has had unprotected intercourse recently with her boyfriend and missed a period.
Her parents do not know she is sexually active, and she does not want her mother to know that a pregnancy test is being done or the result of that test. The pregnancy test comes back positive.
This patient, a 13-year-old, has requested that you not convey to her mother that a pregnancy test has been sent. In other words, she has requested that you respect her confidentiality.
• What is the rule of confidentiality, and how does it differ from respecting someone’s privacy?
• Does the law require you to tell the parents?
• How will you strategize what happens next, e.g., sending a test while the girl waits, but not telling the mom what has been done?
• What if her mother asks what tests you are doing?
