Assessment and Speed vs accuracy

Answer the following questions. Each question should take 1 – 2 pages including references. Each question must have at least two APA references with corresponding in-text documentation as well.
Question #1
You have learned several methods of skill classification. Select a motor skill and classify according to:
1. Environmental predictability
2. Task Organization
3. Importance of motor vs cognitive importance
Explain why each classification is an important consideration when selecting appropriate learning strategies for an early learner.
Question #2

Overall, the variability of practice seems to be a critical learning and performance issue.

1. Provide an example of a specific motor skill that would like to teach.

2. After you have selected that motor skill, develop a three-week practice schedule, three days per week that shows the variability of practice.

3. In your own words, define the schema as it relates to motor learning, practice variability, and transfer of motor skills.

4. What is the schema that you are hoping the learner will develop about your skill?
Question #3
Describe the teaching/learning dilemma of speed vs accuracy. Why is this concept fundamental to both the learning and performance of movement skills?

1. What is the most critical consideration when choosing between each?
2. What are the trade-offs the teacher and learner must consider?

3. Provide an example of applying this concept.

4. Explain your philosophy concerning the emphasis of each in a learning environment.
Question #4
All learners go through various stages of learning from the beginning as early learners to advanced or elite.
1. Select a skill and illustrate how Fitts-Posner’s stages of learning interact with the Schema theory.
2. Where does the concept of degrees of freedom fit within this discussion?
Question #5
Whether it’s feedback systems, digital measurements, or other innovative applications of technology to motor skill learning and performance, we live in a world that is dominated by the application of technology. Identify and evaluate one emerging use of technology used to enhance motor skill learning.

Trust Matters

Book review will be done using APA 7th edition. I will take care of the cover sheet. The paper must include an abstract that begins with the purpose. The two main parts of the paper are:

1st major part: Summary of the book which reports what the author has said. Here is where you paraphrase what the author has said and edit the material. Embedded within the summary should only be 5-7 direct quotes that are “pearls of wisdom” from the book. Never ever say “I think,” “I feel,” “I believe,” or “The author thinks, feels, or believes” in the summary. Only refer to the author by name or the author he/she and report what the author stated, said, or reported.

2nd major part is the Application. You may use personal pronouns referring to “You.” However, still don’t use the words think, feel, or believe. Just describe how you would apply what the author has said to functioning as an educational leader.

To assist with the application section, my role as an educator is a high school magnet Assistant Principal.

In 250-500 words, reflect on how pre-assessments might help you to meet individual student needs and allow for differentiation in the classroom. How do pre-assessments help support, verify, and document student learning? Provide examples.

The first step in implementing solid reading instruction is to determine a baseline for the students in the classroom. It is important to keep in mind that students enter the classroom with diverse backgrounds and literacy skills; some students may enter the classroom with special needs that require basic skills review, while other students may have to have their literacy instruction designed at a higher level than what the teacher initially intended to teach. Pre-assessments provide teachers with the necessary information to develop appropriate lessons and improve instruction for all students.

Select a grade level K-3 and identify a state standard in two of the following areas: phonological awareness, alphabetical code, print concepts, and/or oral language. (You may use the grade of the field experience class.) Create a developmentally appropriate pre-assessment aligned to each standard.

In 250-500 words, reflect on how pre-assessments might help you to meet individual student needs and allow for differentiation in the classroom. How do pre-assessments help support, verify, and document student learning? Provide examples.

Support your reflection with 2-3 scholarly resources.

APA format is not required, but solid academic writing is expected.

This assignment uses a rubric. Review the rubric prior to beginning the assignment to become familiar with the expectations for successful completion.

You are required to submit this assignment to LopesWrite. A link to the LopesWrite Technical Support Articles is located in Class Resources if you need assistance.

nursing leaders

You will submit a power point presentation to include the following components:

1. Problem Statement – what problem did you work on; what are you trying to improve? Why did you select this problem? What data do you have to support the problem?

2. National Context:

State how your problem is linked to a national quality or safety indicator for JC, NQF, NCQA, or Healthy People 2020; state which indicator is included in one or more of these databases that is similar or the same as yours.

State THAT your problem is linked to a national nurse-sensitive quality indicator, which one?

3. Background Information about the problem

Your quality framework should be briefly described. Summarize evidence-based articles relevant to your problem and clearly state how you used this information in your QI process. This section should include the identification of the QI Model. Identify the model (Refer Wyant (2017) utilize one of the commonly used models as a framework for your project); describe how the model is used to guide the process.

4. Narrative summary of expected outcomes.

The narrative should also include the following:

If your project is successful, what methods and specific plans do you have to maintain/and extend a successful project solution.

If your project is not successful, what methods and specific plans do you have to revise/and or terminate an unsuccessful project solution.

Describe specific plans for feedback in the work setting and for communicating the project and its results to professional groups and/or colleagues external to the project.

Describe barriers in the chosen setting and identify the plan to overcome.

5. Conclusions/ recommendations for practice, research and/or education

6. References- Include 4 evidenced-based current references from nursing/healthcare journals.

Aristotle Philosophy

Write a paper on the following: Wisdom (Greek sophia), of which philosophy is the love
or pursuit, is a form of knowledge. Knowledge, strictly and properly so called, belongs at
the top of a ranked sequence of cognitive powers and accomplishments discussed
in Metaphysics A 1. Drawing on the first two chapters of the Metaphysics A (bk. I) and the
first chapter of Physics bk. I. explain what knowledge, in this strict sense, and wisdom are
according to Aristotle. How do they differ from, but depend on, the other cognitive
powers and conditions with which Aristotle contrasts them?

Musical Theater

(1 1/2 – 2 pages) How does experiencing musical theatre differ from experiencing the spoken text of a nonmusical play? Based on your reading in the course so far and examples from the lecture on musical theatre, discuss the way music changes the nature of theatrical expression and the audience’s response to what is happening on stage?

CHOICE TWO:

Pretend one of the following characters was in a musical version of the play in which they appear: Joe Pitt, Masako, Emiko, Seth Holly, Mattie Campbell. Write an “I am/I want song” for your character (like you’d find toward the beginning of a Disney musical).

Note: Short writing assignments are informal in tone, but should still be well organized and display correct grammar usage and correct spelling. Be sure to address all parts of the question and make connections to material in lecture and section as appropriate. These are assignments in which creativity and personal reactions should flourish.

environmental disaster.

The assignment is to draw find a connection between the following articles. all five articles have to be included and the questions below are guides to help draw the main point from each article.

“The great earthquakes of Lisbon 1755 and Aceh 2004 shook the world: Seismologists’ societal responsibility” (K. Fuchs)
– Discuss this article, linking it to concepts such as black swan, vulnerability and therapeutic/corrosive communities (Freudenberg reading from September 17).
– To what extent is the world better prepared for catastrophic tsunamis now, compared to the Year 1755? Why?
Discuss this sentence on p. 216: “The New Orleans catastrophe has become a vivid paradigm for the inaction of the powerful in modern times in one of the most developed countries on earth.” Do you agree? Why or why not?

“Contamination, Corrosion and the Social Order: An Overview” (W.R. Freudenberg)
– Freudenberg discusses pitfalls of distinguishing between “technological” and “natural” disasters. To what extent do you think it is meaningful or meaningless to categorize types of disasters? Why?
– Discuss “Are All Disasters Anthropogenic?” (p. 23). To what extent do you think this is true? Why?
– Discuss WF’s framework of 3 stages of a disaster. To what extent is this framework useful? What, if anything, is missing from it?
– To what extent do you think that the concept of “ambiguity of harm” (p. 27) is culturally relative? Why?
– Discuss the “therapeutic” vs. “corrosive” communities effect (p. 29). Provide examples of each.
– Discuss WF’s section on “Sociological Disruption” (p. 31). To what extent does this state of affairs characterize contemporary societies in terms of “polarization”, “loss of beliefs”, “legitimacy of institutions”, “erosion of trust”, etc.? In the wake of disasters over the past few decades, is the process of disruption that is described irreversible? Why or why not?

“A bridge to challenging environmental inequality: Intersectionality, environmental justice, and disaster vulnerability” (S.S. Ryder)
– To what extent, and in what ways does this article “develop a more holistic understanding of environmental harms and disaster vulnerabilities”?
– In what ways does the concept of intersectionality bridge (or potentially bridge) environmental justice and disaster vulnerability?
– On page 6, Ryder discusses “overarching, preexisting social conditions” and “differential disaster impacts”. This article was published well before the Covid-19 Pandemic. In your view, to what extent do Ryder’s arguments apply beyond the disaster cases discussed in this article, to the Covid-19 pandemic?
– On page 7, Ryder makes the point that disaster vulnerability literature has broadened. In your view, what is still missing, and in what ways does the literature need to broaden further?
– On page 11, Ryder discusses the prospect of “Examining the multiplicity of social variables in the context of a particular disaster….”. This implies a broad and inclusive approach to analyzing disasters. In practice, many would agree that disasters are usually NOT analyzed in particularly broad and inclusive ways. Do you agree that the typical scope of disaster analysis is often too narrow? Why or why not?

“An Unsustainable Modernity: democracy, the global climate emergency and environmental ethics”. (B. Smart)
– In this essay the author makes the case that the world is on an unsustainable path and argues that current approaches are ineffective. Smart argues, among other things, that business as usual capitalism, high levels of consumption and lack of long-term vision are making matters worse. He argues that: “The action that needs to be taken is revolutionary in form, in scale and scope….” (p. 35).
– Do you agree with the author’s overall argument and the outlines of his proposed remedy? Why or why not?
– Is “revolutionary change” in the direction of sustainability possible? Why or why not?
– What are some shorter-term actions that might be taken to address “unsustainable modernity” and the range of environmental problems and disasters that the world is confronted with?

“From the Margins to the Mainstream? Disaster Research at the Crossroads” (K. J. Tierney)
– Tierney discusses the evolution of how disasters are perceived and framed. Why is this evolution significant? Do you think this evolution makes it more possible for disasters to be prevented or better managed? Why?
– The author makes the point that there is considerable room for improvement in disaster theory. What do you believe some of the most important needed improvements are?
– Tierney argues that the field of disaster studies and management was not diverse not long ago and is changing slowly. Discuss.
– What are the implications of viewing disasters as “events”?
– What are some limitations of the “natural hazards” perspective?
– In what ways was Hurricane Katrina a “turning point” in disaster research?
– How do environmental disasters result from conventional policies and practices?
– Disaster research was slow to recognize factors such as vulnerability, class, race and gender (see p. 514). Discuss.
– Discuss the point about disasters as “normal” (p. 518)

Genetics

The term test will include short answer and long answer types of questions. For example, diagrams (drawn
or completed), fill in the blanks, short essays, and problem solving. These exams will be conducted online. Answers must be in own words no copying from
anywhere on the internet when midterm starts. failure to do so will result in a 0 grade on the midterm. so be prepared and read over all the lecture slides and make notes.

Not sure how many questions will be in the midterm yet… undertsnad the material really well especially word problems.
chapter 1-5: (Know everything in these chapters of genetics to be prepare for a timed midterm)

Summary and outline of the social Dilemma

your summary and outline of the documentary, The Social Dilemma.
Summary:
As we learned, to summarize is to shorten and report. It is not about your perspective at all. Instead, it is about accurately presenting the argument and information someone else has crafted. In the process of summarizing, you will be paraphrasing and perhaps even quoting. But you do make decisions in the process of summarizing. You must decide what you think the “primary claim” is. You must decide which are the secondary claims, and what evidence is most important to report given the claims being made. In other words, a summary is presentation of your critical reading skills focused on another text.
Your summary should be written in paragraph form and should be 350-500 words. Use the techniques of summary and paraphrasing as you learned about them in the video. Quote minimally, if at all. If you do use a quotation, of course you need the quotation marks.
Outline:
For the outline, use a tiered “traditional outline” format as I outline below. Have at least three tiers, or levels of hierarchy, in your outline. While you don’t need to use complete sentences in the outline, you will need phrases. Phrases will help me understand how you are outlining the argument presented in the documentary because they will allow you to express more complete ideas that you can express with just a word or two. Many, if not most, of the entries on your outline should be phrases.
It is up to you to determine which claims and ideas are the “biggest” ones. This involves making decisions about the hierarchy of ideas. Which ideas are the big ones, and how to other “smaller” ideas” work to support those larger ones. With our text this week, there are many ways you might organize the argument from the film. Don’t present the ideas merely in the order they were presented in the documentary. Instead, reorganize them according to your own critical reading of the argument presented in the film.
Use this format for your outline:
Primary Claim of the film: [Here you should try and summarize the “main idea” or “primary claim” from the film. This might take a couple of sentences.]
Then use something close to this template for your outline. You’ll need to decide how many secondary claims there are, what reasoning to present, etc. Again, the outline is a way that you exhibit your skills of critical reading. Remember to use phrases rather that single words for most of this. I need to be able to follow your own thinking in this outline, so give me enough information in your phrases to do that.
