What messages did you receive about sexuality through your family and caregivers? Did they discuss different sexual orientations with you? Did they tell you how they would like you to live (ie get married and have kids)? Did they discuss masturbation, dating, love, and marriage with you? Did they ever talk with you about pornography? Or way to improve sex and pleasure? Ways to improve orgasms?

We learn about sexuality many ways and are influenced by messages we have received – whether they are correct or not. Your task for this assignment is to add at least one message about sexuality you received from each of the 7 categories (Family/Caregivers, Friends, Religion, School, Music, TV/Movies, Internet/digital/social media).
Sexuality is more than just intercourse. Consider other sexuality topics too: contraception, masturbation, sexual orientation, touch, dating, pregnancy, love, puberty, pornography, marriage, gender, etc.

For example, #1 is family and caregivers.

You do not need to answer all of these questions, but give some thought as to these topics and what you learned from various sources. Writing “they told me not to do it” or “it was good” or “n.a.” or “I didn’t get any messages” or derivatives of that won’t earn you points. Writing the same response for all categories won’t earn you any points either. Really give some thought to all of the topics mentioned. In the past some students didn’t consider this a homework assignment and wrote one word answers. You won’t earn any points for that.

Choose one of Hughes’s poems

1.) Choose one of Hughes’s poems we read this week and provide an analysis. Please address the following: how does Hughes use the raw materials of poetry (words and their sounds) to convey a certain feeling to the reader? How is his perception of the African American experience reflected in the poem you chose?

2.) Readers and critics alike have been interested in Hughes’s style and the fact that he is not preoccupied with form, i.e. rhyme, rhythm, pattern— Do you think this strengthens or weakens his poetry? Use a specific Hughes poem to illustrate your ideas.

Critical theory and emancipatory knowing

Think about a recent situation in nursing that you recognized as needing to change in some way and share your reflection with others in the discussion board. Did you take action to change the situation? If not, why not?
If so consider the following:
1. Who did you connect with in some way to create change?
2. What were the barriers that you faced in making the change?
3. What facilitated getting something done?
4. Looking back, what would you do differently next time around?
Submission Instructions:
· Your initial post should be at least 500 words, formatted and cited in current APA style with support from at least 2 academic sources. Your initial post is worth 8 points.

How do these social bonds differ from those you experienced with family?

As we moved through childhood into adulthood, most of us were part of a social group outside of our families; many of us continue to be part of one. Members of a social group typically share interests, core values, and beliefs that help to bond them together emotionally.
Provide a personal experience of a social group to which you have belonged in the past or to which you now belong, or of one for which you have an interest or affinity.
How did/does/would belonging to that group make you feel?
What is the emotional “glue’ that connects members?
How do these social bonds differ from those you experienced with family?
While the rewards of being part of a social group are many, do you see any downsides or pitfalls? (If you prefer not to share your personal experiences, pick a social group that you consider an interesting subject for discussion.)

In your opinion, which do you believe has a stronger effect – innateness, genetics, and temperament, or the environmental influences of parents, family, and school?

Genes and the environment both affect the development of emotions.
In your opinion, which do you believe has a stronger effect – innateness, genetics, and temperament, or the environmental influences of parents, family, and school?
Why do you believe this?
Please provide evidence supporting your notion. (Don’t be afraid to also utilize first-hand experiences as well in your post.)

Do you use probability in your profession or real life? You most likely do without consciously knowing it. Share one example of how you have used probability in your life. Were you able to determine the probability based on the classical method, the relative frequency method, or the subjective method? Explain. Now think about all of the times you do use probability each day and explain which of the three methods you utilize the most throughout the day and why.

Advancing Community Health

This assessment addresses the following learning objective(s):
Develop institutional, local, state, and/or federal policy initiatives.
Policies are put into place with the objective of improving quality of life and civic engagement. But is that always the outcome?
Reflect on the community in which you live.
Identify three issues impacting the health of your community (ex: diabetes, depression, teen pregnancy).
For each issue, briefly summarize the level of government involvement.
Could these issues be improved with more, or less, government involvement?
Propose solutions to address the three issues.
Please be sure to validate your opinions and ideas with citations and references in APA format.
Please review post and response expectations. Please review the rubric to ensure that your response meets the criteria.

Using the Project One Template located in the What to Submit section, generate a report including your tables and graphs to determine if the square footage of a house is a good indicator for what the listing price should be.

Overview
The purpose of this project is to have you complete all of the steps of a real-world linear regression research project starting with developing a research question, then completing a comprehensive statistical analysis, and ending with summarizing your research conclusions.
Scenario
You have been hired by the D. M. Pan National Real Estate Company to develop a model to predict housing prices for homes sold in 2019. The CEO of D. M. Pan wants to use this information to help their real estate agents better determine the use of square footage as a benchmark for listing prices on homes. Your task is to provide a report predicting the housing prices based square footage. To complete this task, use the provided real estate data set for all U.S. home sales as well as national descriptive statistics and graphs provided.
Directions
Using the Project One Template located in the What to Submit section, generate a report including your tables and graphs to determine if the square footage of a house is a good indicator for what the listing price should be. Reference the National Statistics and Graphs document for national comparisons and the Real Estate Data spreadsheet (both found in the Supporting Materials section) for your statistical analysis.
Note: Present your data in a clearly labeled table and using clearly labeled graphs.
Specifically, include the following in your report:
Introduction
Describe the report: Give a brief description of the purpose of your report.
Define the question your report is trying to answer.
Explain when using linear regression is most appropriate.
When using linear regression, what would you expect the scatterplot to look like?
Explain the difference between response and predictor variables in a linear regression to justify the selection of variables.
Data Collection
Sampling the data: Select a random sample of 50 houses.
Identify your response and predictor variables.
Scatterplot: Create a scatterplot of your response and predictor variables to ensure they are appropriate for developing a linear model.
Data Analysis
Histogram: For your two variables, create histograms.
Summary statistics: For your two variables, create a table to show the mean, median, and standard deviation.
Interpret the graphs and statistics:
Based on your graphs and sample statistics, interpret the center, spread, shape, and any unusual characteristic (outliers, gaps, etc.) for the two variables.
Compare and contrast the shape, center, spread, and any unusual characteristic for your sample of house sales with the national population. Is your sample representative of national housing market sales?
Develop Your Regression Model
Scatterplot: Provide a graph of the scatterplot of the data with a line of best fit.
Explain if a regression model is appropriate to develop based on your scatterplot.
Discuss associations: Based on the scatterplot, discuss the association (direction, strength, form) in the context of your model.
Identify any possible outliers or influential points and discuss their effect on the correlation.
Discuss keeping or removing outlier data points and what impact your decision would have on your model.
Find r: Find the correlation coefficient (r).
Explain how the r value you calculated supports what you noticed in your scatterplot.
Determine the Line of Best Fit. Clearly define your variables. Find and interpret the regression equation. Assess the strength of the model.
Regression equation: Write the regression equation (i.e., line of best fit) and clearly define your variables.
Interpret regression equation: Interpret the slope and intercept in context.
Strength of the equation: Provide and interpret R-squared.
Determine the strength of the linear regression equation you developed.
Use regression equation to make predictions: Use your regression equation to predict how much you should list your home for based on the square footage of your home.
Conclusions
Summarize findings: In one paragraph, summarize your findings in clear and concise plain language for the CEO to understand. Summarize your results.
Did you see the results you expected, or was anything different from your expectations or experiences?
What changes could support different results, or help to solve a different problem?
Provide at least one question that would be interesting for follow-up research.
