What were their critiques? Do you agree or disagree with the arguments made by Cameron and Weyland against this simple dichotomy? Be sure to explain your position.

Assignment Question

Latin America’s so-called Left Turn at the beginning of the 21st century brought to power a variety of Leftist Presidents. One common view at the time held that there were two distinct variants of the Left: a ‘bad’ radical populist Left, and a ‘good’ social democratic moderate Left. In this taxonomy, social democrats are open-minded and modern, while populists are closed-minded and strident. We read two essays by Maxwell Cameron and Kurt Weyland that critiqued the view that the Left could be divided into bad populists and good social democrats. What were their critiques? Do you agree or disagree with the arguments made by Cameron and Weyland against this simple dichotomy? Be sure to explain your position.

You are an Industrial and Organizational psychologist in a large hospital and manage a talent development program. You also serve on the Institutional Review Board (IRB). Participants in your program, which includes interns, have been told that their demographic information, personal goals, and personality assessments are absolutely confidential. However, you discover that assessment results have been accessed through an HR data portal and used for hiring/promotion decisions. This use may violate ethical guidelines since the assessments were not validated for this purpose and the use of the other personal information stored in the database may introduce bias in the hiring/promotion process. If the organization makes this problem public, you believe the employee development program will be terminated. Assignment Question

Write a 4-5 page research paper in which you explore a question of your choosing.

To answer the question, you will use valid and trustworthy sources. In this paper, you will not be taking a stand on a topic but doing in-depth learning on something you are genuinely curious about.

This will go beyond a summary of research though. You will be analyzing and interpreting the research done on this subject and bringing several sources together to determine what is known and what is not known.

Hollywood often engages in moral grandstanding and this is morally problematic. This is my argument against political grandstanding in Hollywood both on the grounds that it marginalizes opposing viewpoints and also that it engages in objectionable forms of moral grandstanding.

PLEASE READ ALL OF THIS AND THE ESSAY I STARTED FOR YOU in the file below, and I provided the first part of this essay and the guidelines all together in ONE file below, please read the essay and guidelines. Hi! I am a senior at the University of Richmond taking a 450-level Ethics class. For my final paper, we are required to take on a topic of interest and argue something that someone intelligent in ethics could disagree with. So I am arguing that what bothers me about contemporary hollywood is its extreme political left-leaning ideology and engaging in moral grandstanding with this ideology both with films directly on screen and hollywood culture (media). “moral grandstanding”: “the use and abuse of moral talk to seek status, to promote oneself, or to boost your own brand.” Hollywood often engages in moral grandstanding and this is morally problematic. This is my argument against political grandstanding in Hollywood both on the grounds that it marginalizes opposing viewpoints and also that it engages in objectionable forms of moral grandstanding. I know that there is a longstanding debate about the relationship between politics and art, and this debate can help inform your essay.

I have already started the essay and provided the file of my work, PLEASE read the work I provided so far(its not long) and USE MY ARGUMENT, do not create a new argument, but you may expand onto my thesis of course. Reading what I wrote so far should help direct you to EXACTLY the essay I am looking for as you will see in the file I provided. You may use the introduction and first few paragraphs if you would like, but PLEASE understand what I am arguing and continue writing the paper from here, engaging with my argument, remember that your essay should be engaging with ethics and philosophical writings on ethics. This is NOT a research paper, and the sources should only add onto the argument. We are required to use 3 sources of GREAT evidence, 2 of your sources should be about how 1. hollywood engages in moral grandstanding, and 2. how moral grandstanding is unethical. Here is an essay by Joshi we read for class about moral grandstanding, PLEASE USE it in the essay (https://philpapers.org/archive/JUSMG.pdf)…… MAKE SURE TO CONSIDER OBJECTIONS AND COUNTEREXAMPLES, CONSIDER THE OTHER SIDE AND REPLY TO THE STRONGEST FORM OF AN OBJECTION, USE EMPIRICAL EVIDENCE WHEN NECESSARY, AND DISCUSS THE IMPLICATIONS OF MY VIEW. Below I have provided guidelines for the essay and the essay I have so far… If you have any more questions PLEASE reach out to me, this paper is 30% of my grade and I do not have time for all of my final essays. LAST THING: I go to a great school and am a good writer, but please DO NOT make it seem like this was written by an expert in the field, try your best to write at a college/university level, we are graded more so on our arguments and the presentation of the arguments rather than how good the essay looks. THANK YOU SO MUCH! My # is 610-716-3345 if you have any questions, AND if the paper is exactly what I asked for, I will directly send you individually an extra $30 🙂
