Topic 2:
The great Italian Baroque artist, Caravaggio, did not follow all of the rules of proper Italian Baroque art. He chose to depict holy events with people as being rather ordinary, in ordinary settings. Believing that ordinary people could be called to holy service, he shunned using the obvious religious figures and bombastic theater in his works. He gives the viewer a dramatic quietude. The great Flemish artist Peter Paul Rubens also worked in the same time period, but in a different country. His works are more like Italian Baroque art and its sense of grand theater. Conduct internet research, and carefully examine and discuss the following images from Caravaggio and Rubens:

Mr. John Warhawk (or is it Senator Randall Real Politic) claims that the average soldier was betrayed by the government and if more troops were sent to South Vietnam that country can still be saved from communism.

Instead, assume the historical role of someone who lived in the United States during the era. While addressing the legacy of the war you can move to more recent decades. While defending your stance be sure to address the effect that ground troops had on the war regarding potential failure or success during combat and how the escalation of troops affected anti-war movement. Finally, be sure to bring in the potential effects the war had on Johnsons presidency and the legacy of Vietnam.

The comparative element is not clear. You list similarities, then briefly difference, but do not explain why they are different.
In explaining your works, make sure you do not limit yourself to summarizing, but add your analysis to this summary.
Do not just list similarities, followed by difference. This is not what is required. The main idea is two works that are similar in one aspect, but approach that aspect differently. So there is no need to specifying a full paragraph or two on how the two works are similar, then how they are different. Rather, you argue that both works do (whatever is similar, maybe in a sentence or two. However, though they agree on (whatever it is), they approach this differently as A while B
As you present or analyze one work, try to add a phrase that helps us see you are using it to connect to the other. For example, when analyzing a theme in work A, you can add something like this is not the case with B, as the paper explains later, or In B, this idea is dealt with differently, as I will elaborate later. Similarly, when you talk about work B, remind the reader of the link (this connects to the previous argument made about B, for example)
Can you think of a general significance of such comparative studies to add to your conclusion at the end? (What do we benefit from such comparisons? What do we learn in general from these comparisons? Do they teach us anything about how different people act in different circumstance, for example?
