Identify any social problem and analyze it using the objective and subjective criteria in the first chapter of your textbook. Why does it qualify as a “social problem” as defined within sociology?
You should discuss the following points:
What is the shared undesirable condition faced by people who have this problem? What must they face that other people don’t have to?
Who are the people (the social group) who have this problem?

The definition of a social problem has both an objective component and a subjective component. The
objective component involves empirical evidence of the negative consequences of a social condition or
behavior, while the subjective component involves the perception that the condition or behavior is indeed a
problem that needs to be addressed.

Scenario
It is important to have a clear view of where a company wants to be in the future. Healthy Dynamics wants to increase company revenue, decrease risk, increase customer satisfaction, and possibly add new services (goals) to the wellness programs they offer. As the strategic planning manager, you are tasked with determining what the company must do to get there (strategy) and what direction they must take to accomplish these goals (objective). The CEO has asked you to review the mission statement you developed in module 02 and create a flowchart defining the goals and objectives to ensure they are clear, specific, measurable, achievable, relevant, and timely (SMART) for the company.
