Annotated Policy Source and Narrative

Its a combination of a annotated bibliography and a narrative. About 3 pages.

Annotated Policy Source List

PART 1
In this first part of the assignment, you will identify and annotate 6 sources that you plan to use to research the issue you identified. This first should clearly demonstrate your aptitude for critical thought and reflection at a graduate level.
Please note, the sources that you identify for this assignment will be the sources you reference and draw from for Part 2. Specifically, these sources should be cited in Part 2 in the background data section, and drawn upon to inform your thinking and analysis in Part 2 below.

Identify 6 sources you plan to use to research the following topic:
The ultimate goal of child welfare, and more specifically foster care is providing a safe living arrangement for the underserved when searching for permanency such as reunification with birth parents, permanent adoption, or kinship care. Research the social concern of finding foster home permanency for at-risk youth such as youth with behavioral or mental health struggles. Is this underserved population protected by policies that set them up for success or are these youth falling through the cracks of a broken system?
Keep your focus on the population ie: youth in the foster system with behavioral health issues and the aspect you indicate, ie: the effect on permanency in foster care. Although this may be complicated by substance abuse keep your focus on mental/behavioral health.

Utilize only peer-reviewed journal articles for your sources.
Follow APA formatting for annotated bibliographies (see Purdue University Writing Lab)
Annotate each of your sources. For each source entry:
include all access information about each source (eg. web address, library location)
each annotation should include:

a) a brief summary of ONLY the research findings that are relevant to your policy topic and state EXPLICITLY why these research findings are relevant/what these findings contribute to your work.

PART 2

Policy briefs are common tools used by policy-makers to learn about an issue. Often policymakers have limited time and have to deal with numerous issues simultaneously. This means that a compact format with the most important information delivered in a clear and concise way is most likely going to be read. Long and detailed reports often get passed along to the staff, rarely read by the policy-maker. Thus, learning how to concisely make a point is very important when engaging in policy practice.
Objective Alignment: Part 2 aligns to the following objective: “Demonstrate an understanding of the forms and mechanisms of oppression and discrimination.”

Look at the sources you collected in Part 1 to determine which might be appropriate for this.
This part of the assignment is based on the model of a policy brief. It differs a bit in that it is not a one-sided advocacy tool, but rather a full teaching tool that presents both sides of an issue and your recommendation based on the debate between pros and cons. In this brief, you are to:
– Describe the issue.
– Provide factual background.
– Cite the pros and cons of the issue or possible responses to the issue.
– Close with a clear, logical, and convincing recommendation based on your research.

Part 2 length must be 2 pages. It should be a combination of outline and narrative.

Please note, citations are only permitted in the background data section and should draw directly from the sources you identified in PART 1. You are required to conduct an analysis of social concern (youth in the foster system with behavioral health issues and the aspect you indicate, ie: the effect on permanency in foster care) and present, in your own words, a policy brief that clearly demonstrates your ability to analyze and think critically about a social welfare issue. This analysis should also be informed by the sources you identified and utilized in Part 1.

Gender equality in medicine

Below is the topic that I have coosen for my essay. I will attatch the instrutor given sheet with instructions.

I am choosing to do my paper on gender equality in medicine, focusing on how male, female, and patients of other genders are treated differently. I feel that this topic is important in getting the correct treatment of all genders so that they get the medical care that they need. In medicine today women tend to be under treated for pain, and in some circumstances are unable to receive treatment that they need or want because of their gender and/or age. I feel that research in this topic is important so that the inequalities can be brought to the attention of others and then maybe someday things can change.
I chose this topic because as a female with many female nieces it is important that medical care needed to keep patients healthy is available to those who need it. I will not get into the discussion as to whether certain treatments are okay to do or not, but rather how some care is not available to someone because they are female. I am working towards being able to work within a hospital or medical office, and would hope that the providers that I work for would treat everyone equally. Gender equality in health means “that people of all genders should have access to the healthcare they need.” (Gender Equality in Health https://www.paho.org/en/topics/gender-equality-health). I find it fascinating and disturbing that complaints of patients are ignored or just passed off as someone acting with hysteria or anxiety, and because of this they are left untreated. It seems that this treatment of patients is not only done by male providers, that it is seen by providers of all genders.

Philosophy Paper on autonomy of surrogate decision-makers justifies deferring to their decisions for incompetent patient

Write an approximately 12-page double-spaced (about 3,000 words) response to one of the topics below:

Does respect for the autonomy of surrogate decision makers justify deferring to
their decisions for incompetent patients even in some cases where they clearly
conflict with the patients’ best interests? First, explain whether and to what
extent you think surrogate decision makers have a legitimate autonomy interest
in the treatment of incompetent patients that should override their actual best
interests (you may want to consider cases like adult Jehovah’s Witnesses’
attempts to refuse transfusions for their minor children). Second, present what
you think is the strongest argument in favour of your position on whether there
is such an autonomy interest. Third, present what you think is the best objection
to your position or your argument in favour of it. Finally, fourth, defend your
position against this objection.

Application Materials for Group Project

I will send my resume my proposal workshop and just example for view my classmates work .

In this forum you will submit application materials for your classmates to review. You will also review your classmates’ application materials before forming teams for the group project. We will aim to have 4 students in each group, but that may vary slightly depending on how many students are still participating in the class. I will not automatically assign random groups; students will form their own groups in CanvasLinks to an external site..
Submit 3 items to this forum:
1. In the body of your reply, write a brief message to your classmates (think of this like a cover letter). Using a reader friendly design, indicate the following in your written discussion response:
Topic of your proposal
Strengths regarding this project (interpersonal, leadership, technical, or communication skills)
Preference to meet virtually or face-to-face as well as availability
Contact information for potential group member who would like to communicate with you outside of this discussion forum (Canvas direct message or CSUN email is fine).
2. InsertLinks to an external site. or linkLinks to an external site. to your Video Pitch (please read and follow the detailed instructions). Optionally, you can use VMock’s Elevator Pitch to receive automated feedback on your recording.
3. AttachLinks to an external site. your resume. The resume you wrote earlier in the semester will work well.
Do not provide any contact information you are not comfortable sharing with the entire class!

Theoretical review

The 1,500-word theoretical review paper should provide an analysis of two to three
theoretical approaches to the study of nationalism. You need to choose three of the following
approaches to review: primordialism, perennialism, ethno-symbolism, modernism, social
constructionism, and post-modernism.
take each of the theoretical approaches they intend to review and analyze the
main aspects of each approach; its main arguments and how proponents of that theory
understand how and when nations have come into existence. As part of the review of each
approach, students should also provide a critique highlighting the central weaknesses and
limitations of each approach.
As part of the assignment, you should also put forward an analysis of which theory, they
think is most convincing in terms of explaining how and when nations came into existence.
you should include an introduction, main body, and conclusion as you would in a
conventional essay. you should aim to write 450 words on each theoretical approach and
between 75 to 100 for the introduction and conclusion.
you should remember they must draw on the appropriate scholarly literature for each
theoretical approach they cover utilizing the writings and ideas of key scholars for each
approach.
