Final Project Milestone Two: Stock Analysis and Portfolio Development

FIN 340 Milestone Two Guidelines and Rubric
Overview
In the first milestone, you prepared a client analysis. In this milestone, you will create the stock analysis and portfolio development sections of your final project.
First, you must understand what you are investing in. You have to know the underlying characteristics of the investment. What type of asset is it? What type of security? How is it priced? What are the expected cash flows? Who are the typical investors and what are their typical motives? If you do not understand the answers to those questions, then the initial expectations you develop about the value and risk of the asset will be fundamentally flawed. This sets you up for missteps that can lead to underperforming your investment objectives.
Second, you must be able to estimate the value of the asset. Valuation is about assessing the estimated cash flows of the asset. This is a key component of discerning absolute return potential and the differences between competing assets. It has a significant influence on the third step in the process as well.
The third step is developing a thesis about an asset’s expected return and the associated risk. This is accomplished by assessing your valuation estimates against the current market price and any developing economic or market dynamics that may impact your expected valuation or its pricing. The market is constantly changing, and these expectations need to be monitored on a regular basis to ensure they continue to correspond to the objectives you are trying to achieve.
Finally, you must understand how the assets in a portfolio interact with one another. It is likely that you will not have just one investment, so any additional assets will impact the overall performance of the portfolio. You want to formulate a plan to add assets that, when combined together, will have the potential to meet your objectives. Putting all of these steps together into a consistent, thorough process will position you to better meet the investment objectives laid out at the beginning.
Prompt
This milestone involves creating a draft of the stock analysis and portfolio development sections of the final project. Use the provided spreadsheet to calculate your portfolio’s standard deviation and the Final Project Scenarios document.
Specifically, the following critical elements must be addressed:
Stock Analysis: In this section, you will select five stocks from the provided list and determine their values by applying an appropriate valuation model from the following options: price to multiple model (earning or sales), dividend valuation model, or free cash flow to equity valuation model.
Determine the value of each stock by using an appropriate model based on the characteristics provided for each stock; use each model at least once.
Provide a rationale for the stock valuation method you chose for each stock. Cite specific information to support your decisions.
Using the calculated valuation, the current market price, and historical performance, determine the expected return for each stock.
Portfolio Development: In this section, you will develop a portfolio for a client (Ezra or Jacob and Rachel) based on the client’s risk tolerance, return objectives, and liquidity objectives. You will select appropriate assets from the provided list.
For the client, develop a portfolio from the list of assets provided that is informed by your analysis of the client’s objectives and (if applicable) the stock valuation you determined.
Calculate the expected portfolio return using the CAPM (beta) model. Based on the risk tolerance and return objective of the client you didn’t choose for this assignment, would you design an investment portfolio that has a higher or lower expected portfolio return, and why?
Calculate the expected portfolio standard deviation. Based on the risk tolerance and return objective of the client that you didn’t choose for this assignment, would you design an investment portfolio that has a higher or lower expected standard deviation, and why?
What to Submit
Your client analysis should be a 3- to 5-page Microsoft Word document, double spaced, with 12-pt. Times New Roman font, one-inch margins, and citations cited in APA format. Note that your submission may be longer than 6 pages as work must be shown for all calculations. You may use and upload an Excel workbook to show your calculations. In your written paper, if you are referring to data that is found within an uploaded Excel workbook, be sure to include a citation—for example, “the portfolio’s expected return is 7.2% (E64, Sheet1, WB1),” where E64 is the cell that the calculation took place in, Sheet1 is the tab, and WB1 is designating the name of your file. This ensures that your instructor can quickly and accurately check data entry, formula use, and financial calculations.FIN 340 Milestone Two Guidelines and Rubric

What constitutes an appropriate role for the judiciary? Some people argue that courts have become too powerful and that judges legislate from the bench. What does it mean for a court to be activist?

Essay must be at least 1000 words. Please include a works cited page as well.

What constitutes an appropriate role for the judiciary? Some people argue that courts have become too powerful and that judges legislate from the bench. What does it mean for a court to be activist? What does it mean for a court to show judicial restraint? Although conservatives have long complained about the activism of liberal justices and judges, in recent years liberals have pointed out that conservative judges and justices are now more likely to overturn precedents and question the power of elected institutions of government. Conservatives counter by saying they are simply returning to an older precedent that had been ignored by liberals. If both liberals and conservatives engage in judicial activism, what is the role of the concept of “activism” (perhaps judicial activism is just a term used to describe a court decision you disagree with)?

Fatherhood Program

Here is an opportunity to Plan a “hypothetical” Program that could serve a community and change the quality of life for our clients.
BTW. I WILL be creating My Own MVP for this course and will be sharing My Efforts and Accomplishments with You (see Chapter 2).
Hope –> I get an A!
Hint: To be successful in these tasks, it will require dedicated research, creativity/brainstorming, critical thinking, and self-motivation. But, MOST of all –> My Program Planners need to be Reading the Literature!
So. Let’s get started…
First. Title Your Post by the Name of Your Agency.
Here’s What You WILL Need to Submit by Sunday, 4/2, at 12 midnight.
1) Post the Name of Your Agency; and any stakeholders, affiliations, or funding sources. Example: My not-for-profit Agency is Meals on Wheels, they are connected to the Council on Aging for Lamar County and they receive funding from Georgia Department of Human Services. Be specific!
2) List at least 2-3 of the Programs offered by the Agency. Do Your Research and Be Specific. For Example: Meals on Wheels (MOW) provides home delivered meals, pet food delivery, transportation, and safety checks.
3) Briefly propose the “pilot” program You want to create and then “pitch” to the Agency in Your Final Presentation to their Board of Directors (BOR). Give the Program a working name, one that is memorable, if possible. Example: MOW takes meals TO seniors. I WANT to provide MORE than just a healthy meal –> My Program will take the Seniors OUT to dinner at a “fancy” restaurant at least twice a month. HOW the program will work is still in the planning stages. But…
My assumptions, based on what I have read and researched in the literature AND personally witnessed with my parents is: that many of the elderly become housebound, have “too routine”, nay, a dulled existence, and are alone or isolated, especially, when they can no longer drive. So, by taking My Senior Citizens OUT, it will not only provide for Maslow’s basic physiological need, eg, food, but also, My Program will offer hope and social support that may lead to a change in attitudes. And, by increasing the number of positive social interactions, My Program will promote integrity over despair (Erikson’s final stage of psychosocial developmental) and will result in measurable changes in My Client’s behavior. Maybe even, extending their life and preventing them from requiring assisted living. The working name of My Program? Heels on Wheels (HOW)–because the women are encouraged to get “dressed up” and go to dinner. What do y’all think? Is there are better name? See. That’s called workshopping!
4) Start keeping track of Your Inputs for these tasks. For example: The actual number of hours of research, # hours reading, # hours of writing, # of hours ____. Okay? BTW. I have been up since 6am to write this ELE. THAT’S 8 hours just today!
5) Have fun! Be creative! Learn by doing!

I have chosen for my program the Child Support Office and specifically looked at the Fatherhood program. I want to incorporate a job program where the fathers can get help in finding a job. I want to do a mother’s day out with other women and plan resources with different people to come and talk with them on mental help, eating right, exercise, parenting, and a transportation program.

The program can be called parents on the move or if you have a better idea.

Conflict Management – Training Manual

This assignment is part of a larger assignment (A Training Manual).

The section we are working on is: Conflict Triggers

In three pages, Define and explain some of the triggers that cause conflict.

The context and audience for your manual are as follows:
You are an expert consultant and you were hired by a corporation to manage conflicts that have been occurring in the workplace. Essentially the corporation wants you to teach them “how” to manage conflict effectively so after you leave they can manage their own conflict without the assistance of a third party.

The purpose of the Training Manual Project is to enhance your skills, knowledge and understanding of conflict management theory and practice. The manual demonstrates your ability to manage conflict effectively.

Use APA guidelines for internal citations and references.

Capstone Paper on Ford Motor Inc and Tesla, Inc.

THIS IS ALSO A REQUIREMENT AFTER THE PAPER:
Additional requirement on business ethics – as a separate accompanying submisstion (750 word minimum and attached after the Appendices), go beyond the comments you will give in your report on each firms’ CSR/ESG and give your own critical review (with examples) of how each firm has demonstrated ethical and/or unethical actions. And then propose specific concrete actions (not just slogans) that management in each firm should take to change/improve their corporate behavior to the betterment of individual clients and society.
