This assignment is worth 25% of your overall grade.

Instructions:

The negotiation plan must be in APA 7 format (formatting guidelines can be found in the “resources” tab of this course). You must upload all writing assignments into your free Grammarly Premium account and make necessary changes. Develop a situation in which you are negotiating (you may not use a home buying situation as this scenario is being provided as an assignment example). Common examples include salary negotiations and large purchases. Feel free to be creative regarding what you are negotiating.

The length requirement for this assignment is 4-5 pages, in addition to your cover page and reference page. Cover pages and reference pages do not count toward the length requirement. The length requirement guides your work, but what matters most is that you are covering each aspect adequately and rooting your approach in strategy learned from course materials.

You must include the textbook and two additional scholarly sources as references. These should appear in your reference page and be sure not to forget your in-text citations.

The writing assignment should include ten aspects of a negotiation situation:

1) Define the negotiating goal.

2) List the major issues in the negotiation related to achieving the goal.

3) Define the relative importance of each issue and define the bargaining mix.

4) Define the interests

5) Define the alternatives (BATNAs)

6) Define your limits, including a resistance point.

7) Describe your understanding of the other party’s goals, issues, and resistance points. What questions can you ask to learn more about these?

8) Set your targets and opening bid.

9) Assess the social context of the negotiation.

N.A. is a Hispanic male, age 7, who presents to the outpatient clinic for evaluation with his parents, for complaints of impulsivity, inattention, irritability with increased psychomotor activity. At school, his teacher reports that he has difficulty with sitting during the lesson, he makes inappropriate outbursts during class, requiring frequent redirection and reminders to stay on task and does not properly complete his class and homework assignments. At home, while with his family, during game night, N.A. often becomes frustrated when he is losing and has trouble waiting his turn to play the game. Overview
The short response activities in the webtext throughout this course are designed to show your understanding of key concepts as you engage with course content.

Prompt
During the fifth week of the course, you will respond to several questions in the webtext as you complete each learning block. At the end of Module Five, you will review your answers to these questions and ensure that you have responded to each question. It is important that you answer each question, otherwise, the words “[no response]” will appear in brackets when you submit the assignment. The questions and their original locations in the webtext are listed in this table in case you want to refer back to the reading as you edit, but you can edit your responses to all the questions directly in Module Five: Analyzing History, learning block 5-4 (page 5) in the webtext, before exporting to Word for submission to your instructor in the learning environment.
