Behavior Science

I added the website links you need to get sources and info from at the bottom of the instructions!!!!!!!!!! do not take from other sites than the two links I gave you.

Please look for a research post topic that involves an environmental health exposure that impacts human health. Each student will be required to have a unique topic, so look at what people have submitted and pick another topic. It is a
first-come first-post for topics. (So, I am not reading any duplicate posts!) . If you have written a paper on an environmental health topic in a previous course, you must choose a new topic as that would be self plagiarism. (For example, Climate Change is not an environmental health topic in general. However, the fact that climate change may impact vector populations that transmit disease is a potential topic.) Please
consider topics that you are personally interested in or that impact your community, state or nation. As you look for topics, consider areas of air, water, radiation, food, infectious disease, solid waste and hazardous waste. You are to use at least 2 peer reviewed research sources published within the last 2 years (see homepage) and use proper APA citations. Additionally, you will upload your in-depth post into both the discussion page and turn-it-in, for a plagiarism check. Any similarity index of more that 22% will result in a lower grade.

The following stages will help students in planning their assignment:
1. Brainstorm potential topics of interest. Select a topic.
Note: the topic must be Kinesiology-related.
2. Begin doing a literature search to review existing research on the chosen topic.
It is recommended that students begin with reviewing 10 peer-reviewed academic
articles to have sufficient knowledge on the topic. This literature review will also help to
identify the research gap.
3. Select 2-4 peer-reviewed academic articles to include in the Mini Proposal for
background research.
These articles will be used to provide a brief literature background on the topic and will
be cited in proper APA style at the end of the Proposal. Should be current research
(within the last 5 years).
4. Identify the research gap.
What do we not currently know about this topic that the proposed study will address?
Identifying the gap will help with creating the research question for the Proposal. It will
also be explained in the background/rationale section to justify the importance of this
proposed study.
5. Create a research question.
The research question should address the stated research gap. Remember: it should be
appropriate for chosen method( quantitative or qualitative).

• Questions can be answered by number but must be in full sentences. Paragraph format
is not necessarily required.
• The design of the study can only include components taught in the course. Please do not
Google different study designs and include them.
• The proposed study must be original. Students cannot base their study on an existing
one or copy it. Existing studies should be reviewed for guidance only.
• The assignment should be written in future tense as this is a proposed study.
Failure to follow the above formatting and expectations will result in mark deductions up and
including a zero.

Discussion: Identifying Challenges

This discussion activity will give you an opportunity to share your analysis of the case study that you’ve selected to work on.

Firstly, identify which case study you have selected for your project. Discuss the five challenges you’ve identified in the case study.

Have you or someone you know experienced similar situations at your workplace? If you have, briefly describe one or two examples of a situation (please leave out names of both the workplace and parties involved) and how it was handled. In your opinion, was it handled well? Why or why not?

You are required to post your initial substantive response to the discussion as well as respond, in 50 words or more, to two other students’ posts. This discussion activity will give you an opportunity to share your analysis of the case study that you’ve selected to work on.

Research the relevant policies and procedures for each of the challenges identified in the case study you selected. You will have to provide them as reference in your project.

Poem literature

Write an essay of 500-750 words in which you explicate one or two poems (depending on poem length). For this assignment, you choose the poem(s) and you decide which elements it makes sense to discuss. (If, for example, you choose a poem that does not rhyme, it doesn’t make sense to have a paragraph about rhyme scheme.) You do NOT need to do outside research. I would rather all the ideas come from you. If you DO use any outside sources, whether to read about the poet or an analysis of the poems, you will need to cite your sources and make it very clear where the ideas come from the source.

Whether you use outside sources or not, you should include a work cited page in MLA format.

Film/Show Pitch.

This assignment is designed to celebrate the knowledge and experiences you bring to this class by having you design an aspect of the course. You will be asked to pitch a film or Show (TV, Streaming, etc.) that you think should be included in the course. You will present your argument by relating your chosen piece of media to the topics and objectives of the class and using evidence to show why this is a great example.

Review the course syllabus: look at each module and the learning objectives of each.
Choose a film or tv show that you would like to pitch. If you are choosing a TV show you MUST choose a specific episode. The film or show you select can be a fictional, a documentary, or even a non-narrative art piece. It can be a blockbuster film or a festival film, a TV show or a streaming show, or something that somebody put up on YouTube. The one limiting factor is that it can NOT be something already included in the syllabus (so make sure to review past and future pieces we will be covering in this course).
Introduce your selected material which should include:
Who made it, when was it made, and what is it about?
Is there anything that stands out about it?
The name of the film cited in the following format: Title (Director, Year Released), for a TV show it should be Title (Creator or Producer, Years released). Once you have written that information once, you can just refer to the title of the film.
4. Make an Argument: Why should this film or show episode be included in the course? Make sure when making your argument that you directly relate the why to an element we have studied or will study in the course. For example, is it an excellent example of cinematography (Module 1) or perhaps does it present a very important message in a unique way (Module 3)?

5. Analyze the film or show to support your argument. You must include at least one SCENE ANALYSIS to specifically show why this piece of media is so special.

6. Outside evidence: You must include at least one quote from an article, book, podcast, video, etc. about your selected material showing why it is so important. Note: this should be supporting your argument; having a quote about a plot line is not supporting your argument and is something you should be able to summarize. This should be a critical opinion about an aspect of the filmmaker, the piece of media, etc.
