create a summary of assigned article and develop an analysis thesis to the article. This assignment should not contain any first person; however, you will want to use your experiences as a student to evaluate the authors opinions.
Required to write a summary-reaction/analysis paper on Alfie Kohn essay.
Assignment: create a summary of assigned article and develop an analysis thesis to the article. This assignment should not contain any first person; however, you will want to use your experiences as a student to evaluate the authors opinions.
Thesis statement: the thesis can react to all, portions, or a specific aspect of the article.
Format: This assignment asks you to write an essay that fulfills two distinct requirements:
Summary:
First, the paper needs to contain an objective summary/introductory paragraph that explains the assigned work. At the end of the summary, you will include your opinion of the work. This is your thesis. The introduction with thesis should not be longer than one page.
A summary should start with a summary sentence that includes the author, title of work, and main idea of work. The summary must refer back to author/work and maintain present tense (Smith discusses, for example). Since this is a rather long article, the summary will need to be 2-3 paragraphs.
Analysis:
Secondly, the paper must possess body paragraphs that directly relate to the thesis and analyze the assigned work. These paragraphs do more than continue the summary; they must engage in the topic, message, and/or deliver of the message.
Analysis paragraphs must adhere to the following organization: Evaluative topic sentence, lead-in, evidence, analysis, *(lead-in, evidence, analysis), conclusion.
*If necessary, include additional lead-ins, evidence, and analysis

CASE STUDY: Albert
Albert Mitchell is a 36-year-old man who will be traveling
to Dubai to give a business presentation in 3 months. Although he has traveled
widely in the United States as a consultant, this is his first trip to the The Middle East.
He requests information regarding immunizations needed
before his trip. Albert states that as he will be in Dubai for only a few days,
he is unlikely to contract a disease in such a short time and therefore
believes that it is illogical to obtain immunizations.
Albert states that he has heard that the side effects of the
immunizations might be worse than the diseases they prevent. He is also
concerned about leaving his wife at home alone because she is 6 months
pregnant.
Reflective Questions
1-How would you address Alberts beliefs?
2-What learning would be needed in each domain?
3-What learning theories would you consider?
4-How might his family concerns be addressed?

The Salem Witch Hunt
Using only the primary source document reader The Salem Witch Hunt, write an essay of approximately 800-1100 words (about 3 pages) that explains what kinds of characteristics or actions might lead someone to be more vulnerable of being accused of being a witch? What stands out about many of the accused were they just ordinary people or did they often differ from many of their peers? The only source need is the book. Must use citations from the book and include a works cited
page as well.
Issues Related to Veterans Paper with Infographic (Social Work)
The purpose of this assignment is to develop a product (talking points and infographic)
that can be used to educate a specific audience (e.g., agency administrators, board of
directors, social workers, teachers, etc.) about a trauma- informed human rights
perspective to practice. *The Audience will be social workers*
This assignment is broken into two parts:
1. Topic Exploration
This section of the assignment is to be produced in the form of an introductory
paragraph followed by a series of bulleted lists that includes literature support.
This styling will help demonstrate your ability to gather, analyze, and synthesize
key details required to effectively communicate about and advocate for a traumainformed and human rights perspective to practice and/or organizations to others
(think: talking points). Without a narrative structure, you will need to think
carefully about how to clearly demonstrate the same breadth and depth of critical
thinking as you would in a more typical written essay format. *Bulleted points should have 1-2 sentences each*
After introducing your topic and audience in an initial paragraph, please outline
your thorough understanding of the following based on your selected topic:
What human rights issues are raised in relation to the topic?
o How is this issue addressed in the Universal Declaration of Human
Rights?
o How can a human rights framework be practically applied when
responding to this issue from the perspective of your audience?
(This could be individual and/or organizational practice)
What trauma issues are raised in relation to the topic?
o What are the risk and protective factors for the type of trauma
focused on?
o How can a trauma-informed approach be applied when responding
to this issue from the perspective of your audience? (This could be
individual and/or organizational practice)
What is the scope and limitation of social work intervention in this area on
micro, mezzo and macro levels, as it relates to the organizational setting of
your audience?
Topic Exploration Expectations:
Be approximately 3 single spaced pages in length, excluding reference
page
(remember, majority of this assignment is bulleted lists).
Use of APA in-text citations to support your talking points a minimum of 6 references are required
(academic journals)

2. Infographic
Infographics are visual representations of information. They can include
numbers, text, images, or any combination of the three. Just as in traditional
writing assignments, infographics can take on any of the various rhetorical modes
informative, instructive, descriptive, persuasive, etc. Infographics provide
authors with a quick way to convey a lot of information. (Sage, 2016)
Based on the topic and audience you chose and the exploration you did in part 1,
create an infographic that advocates for a trauma-informed human rights (TI-HR)
approach to practice. You will choose the specific information you want to share/what about the approach you want to highlightnote that the infographic
itself IS an intervention, so you will need to be strategic with the message you
wish to convey.
Be sure to consider the following:
What do you hope to accomplish by introducing a TI-HR approach
regarding your selected topic to your audience?
What is already important to your audience? Consider values,
mission/vision, numbers, finances, turnover, etc.
What aspects of a TI-HR approach to this topic fit with or enhance what is
important to the audience? What aspects fit with what work is already
being done?
What is the best way to convey this information (graphics, colors, spacing,
etc.)?
Your infographic will include statistics, resources and other data/information
relevant to your target audience. Please be sure to appropriately cite any
information actually on the infographic itself. Must have a minimum of 6 references (academic Journals)

Due date: 28thMay2021(4th June 2021)
Part A. Critical Reading(Two
articles, 20 points. 10 for each).
Read the
following two articles and write a report. The report should provide a summary
on the research. The focus should be on describing and commenting on the
econometric models and analyses used in the study. The common points are how
the data is treated before testing, why the models are chosen, what are the relative
advantages of the used models, and how these advantages are shown in the
results, etc.)
Write in either
report or essay format, about 500 to 1000 wordsfor each article.

Focusing on
the methodology issues
Data treatment: explain advantage
Result: describe the major result in terms of
the statistics words.
How the results are discussed.
Testing procedure, logic reasoning.
Part B (10 points). Practice panel data and binary regressions:
(with the help of R
and SAS command files used in lectures)
Step 1
Download the Stream provided data(Assignment2_data.xlsx)
of Fama-French 5 Factors for the 4 regions (European, Japanese, Asia Pacific
and North American) and comment on the data structure noticing the two
indicators for time series and cross section.
Step 2
Applying the model (Mkt_RF
=a+b1*SMB+b2*HML+b3*RMW+b4*CMA) to do the following operations:
i) Run OLS time series regression for each individualregion;
ii) Run OLS regression using the paneldata (of all 4 regions);
iii) Try various panel data fix/random region/time effects
regressionmodels.
Step 3
Write a report of the Panel data
regression results. The questions to be answered by the regressionresults:
1)
Is there any relation between the
dependent variable and each independent variable?
2)
Is the identified relation(s)
based upon certain conditions in terms of regions or times?
You should interpret and discuss
your results (such as what are the significant factors in each regression, make
your comments on comparing the regional OLS regressions against pooled (panel)
OLS regressions, and fixed effects regression against random effects
regressions, etc.)
Step 4
Continue to use the data set to
create some dummy (binary) variables.
For example, to create the
variable for Japan region and run the probit model.
Step 5
Interpret the result of the binary
model in terms of marginal effects and discrete change effects located at the
point of the mean values. You may need to calculate the values of some
statistics and mean values of the regression variables to meet the requirement.
Submission (to the Stream Drop-Box
of the assignment):
Part A: A Word file;
Part B: A Word file (including the
commands and regression results in your report by copy-paste to the Word fie
of your report).
Marginal effect is also related to

Primary Source Analysis of Abd al-Razzaq al-Samarqandi
Your essay should not merely summarize the source. Instead, it should:
Contextualize the document in its appropriate place and time–perhaps one paragraph. Who wrote it, when, and why? Who was the writers intended audience? What historical events or processes is the backdrop to this account? Utilize your textbook to situate the document (and the cross-cultural encounter it reflects) in its proper place and time.
Analyze the account critically as a historical source. What does the author consider important about the foreigners he is describing? What aspects of their society and culture does he focus on? Why might that be? What biases, prejudices, and ignorance does he bring to the encounter? Was the author complimentary or hostile toward the people being described? What might account for his perspective? To what extent can we trust this account?
Interpret the cross-cultural encounter reflected in the text–the bulk of your essay, where you answer the central essay question. Be sure to distill your answer into a concise thesis statement at the beginning of your essay. The thesis should be substantiated with plentiful examples from the text, properly cited. (See the syllabus for citation and style guidelines.)
Essay: Applying course concepts to your own socialization
In this essay, you will do several tasks. First,
imagine you are writing an autobiography or a memoir, or that someone is making
a movie of your life. Who are the important people? What are the
events that shape your story line? When did the events happen?
Write an outline of the key points you would want a reader/viewer to remember
about your story.
Second, think about the concepts we have covered in the
class so far. Review previous pages in the modules and look for key
terms. Make a list of the ones that you think you can see playing out in
your story.
Later in the course we are going to learn that there are
some important characteristics of the life stories of people who do and do not
choose to run for elected office. As you think about your life story, pay
attention to things like: a) was politics discussed in your house growing up b)
did you/do you participate in organizations that give you opportunities to
organize events/people, communicate in writing or orally, lead meetings c) were
religious activities an important part of your upbringing d) did adults close
to you regularly volunteer or attend organizational meetings (like PTA, Rotary,
or the Masons).
Finally, write a short (2-3 page) essay that details your
life story, making sure to call out (using the terms from class) the
application of particular concepts. I’ll give you an example from my own
life. As a young person, there were several structural forces
that were very important to my sense of self: the church, race, and
region. I was raised in an Evangelical Prostestant church and my
grandfather (a situational factor) was both a high school
civics teacher and a pastor. I am a Filipina who grew up in a small
farming community about an hour north of the Ohio River, near the foothills of
Appalachia. This racial/regional/cultural mix was pretty unique in the
1980s (an era effect) and shapes who I am today.
Please format your responses to these questions as a short
essay (approximately two to three pages, 1 1/2 or double spaced, 10 to 12 point
font, 1 to 1 1/2 inch margins). The essay should be uploaded as a Word file or
a PDF. Submit your essay here by the due date listed in the
syllabus.
