Identify the next steps if your proposed solution is adopted, and outline a Plan B in case your proposed solution fails.

Turnitin
This assignment will be submitted to Turnitin.
Instructions
Read the case called A Cry for Help found on pages 84-85 in your textbook. You will then analyze the case independently and recommend a particular course of action specific to the case. Your analysis will be in the form of a written recommendation memo to the hospitals chief operating officer, and is not to exceed two single-spaced pages. The memo must address:
The problem as you see it
A recommended solution or solutions
Support for your perspective
Use your knowledge of the material covered in the course thus far to create an original analysis and recommendation. Many cases have multiple issues, so select one you feel is the most pressing problem. Assume your reader (your hypothetical manager) will use your memo as a decision support tool when making difficult decisions. State the key problems presented in the case and briefly explain the context in which the decisions must be made. Describe your proposed solutions to the problem, and indicate which one you believe is the best course of action. Support your recommendation with specific reasons. Identify the next steps if your proposed solution is adopted, and outline a Plan B in case your proposed solution fails. Show how secondary evidence informed your understanding of the case and your recommendations.
Use this structure:
Open with a one-paragraph summary labeled Executive Summary. What is the context, key issue, and your recommendation?
Background. Why are we facing these issues? Identify the root causes.
What are your specific Recommendations? Include your rationale and alternatives.
Next Steps. How should your recommendations be implemented? What are the priorities, timeline, and required resources?
You have only two pages to get your message across. Use a simple and direct style, putting your recommendation in the first paragraph as a way to create a hook encouraging your manager to continue reading. Use one-inch margins and Times New Roman 12-point font.

Leadership Styles: Choose two of the readings from Weeks 4 and 5 and consider the leadership styles presented within them. Are the leadership styles more alike or different? Focus your thesis on arguing how the styles are more similar/different, and support your argument by discussing only passages from the two readings.

Instructions:

Choose 1 of the following topics, and write a thesis-driven essay in response to that topic:
1. Leadership Styles: Choose two of the readings from Weeks 4 and 5 and consider the leadership styles presented within them. Are the leadership styles more alike or different? Focus your thesis on arguing how the styles are more similar/different, and support your argument by discussing only passages from the two readings.
2. Judging Leaders: Choose 1 leader/text from Weeks 1-3 and 1 leader/text from Weeks 4 or 5. How would the leader from Weeks 1-3 judge the leadership or principles from Weeks 4 or 5? Support your argument by discussing only passages from the texts you chose.
3. Modern Leadership: Choose 1 text from Weeks 1-5 and use the principles and ideas regarding leadership presented in the text to evaluate modern leadership (this could be the US government, a specific president current or past, a leader in business, etc.). What would the author of the text think of the modern leader based on their beliefs about how a leader should act? For this question only, you may consult credible, scholarly outside research to help support your argument.

The essay should be in MLA essay format (see the sample essay attached below) and use MLA citations. A works cited entry and in-text citations for each text discussed are required.

The essay should be focused on making a debatable claim about the text(s) in question; informational essays or essays consisting of summary are not appropriate. The claim should be supported with discussion of specific passages from the text(s) on which the essay is focused.
DISCLAIMER: Originality of attachments will be verified by Turnitin. Both you and your instructor will receive the results.

Visiting a Museum

Visit a museum or art gallery before the end of Week 9 (Option 1, details below). If you are unable to get to a museum or gallery within your area, then a “create your own museum” assignment can be completed in its place (see Option 2, details below). The museum or gallery you visit (Option 1) or create (Option 2) should contain art or artifacts from the time period you are studying in this course. Select from one of the following options:
Option 1: Visiting a Museum
Write a 23 page report, 500750 words that describes your experience:
Visit a museum or gallery near you. Select a minimum of 510 works of art by 510 different artists, from different time periods discussed in the text (Ancient Times to the year 1600).
Clearly identify the location, date attended, and your initial reaction upon arriving at the museum or gallery.
Provide a description and summary of at least 510 works of art by 510 different artists.
Provide a photograph of each selected piece if the venue allows it. (Some museums strictly prohibit photography.)
Explain your initial reaction to the artwork you selected and explain why you chose each piece.
Describe the role of museum founder and curator.
Use the class text as a reference (additional sources are fine, but not necessary unless required by your content). Your report should include connections you make between things observed in your activity and things learned in the course and text.
Here are some tips about visiting a museum in person:
It makes sense to approach a museum the way a seasoned traveler approaches visiting a city for the first time. Find out what museums are accessible to you and have exhibits that intrigue you.
Find out what sort of exhibitions are currently housed in the museum you select. When you go, start with the exhibits that interest you or, if there is a traveling exhibition, look at that first. Then later, if you have time, you can check out other exhibits.
Keep in mind that the quality of your experience is not measured by the amount of time you spend in the galleries or the number of works of art that you see.
Your goal is to find 510 works of art by 510 different artists who intrigue you, and then consider those works in leisurely contemplation. Most museums have benches where you can sit and study a particular piece. Take notes while you are there.
Option 2: Create and Curate Your Own Art Museum
This assignment is an alternative option for visiting a museum or art gallery. For this paper, you will select and curate a minimum of 510 works of art by 510 different artists to include in your own art museum. Use your textbook and online sources to help you find these works of art. A good resource for this assignment is the Google Arts and Culture website from the Google Cultural Institute. Here you can immerse yourself in cultural experiences across art, history and wonders of the worldfrom more than a thousand museums across 70 countries.

Find a print ad or television/web commercial of your own choosing and write an interpretation of it. As with the folk tale assignment, you need to go beyond the surface message of the ad: drink Jim Beam bourbon, smoke Kools, wear Nikes, etc.

Find a print ad or television/web commercial of your own choosing and write an interpretation of it. As with the folk tale assignment, you need to go beyond the surface message of the ad: drink Jim Beam bourbon, smoke Kools, wear Nikes, etc. Like the student essay, Stereotypes for Sale, or James B. Twitchells analysis of the Clairol ad in Convergences (544-549), your reading should uncover the ideological or mythical character of the ad. In those example essays, the authors show how ideologies or myths about race, class and gender are at work in the ads. Be sure to look at the target audience, structure, and technique used to compose the ad. Then use these elements to advance your interpretation of the ads ideology. REMEMBER TO INCLUDE A COPY OF THE AD OR PROVIDE ME WITH A LINK TO IT
