Discuss why increasing generalization also increases the probability of response maintenance.

You are an experienced BCBA who is consulting at a startup ABA company. About six months ago, the owner asked you to design a shaping procedure for staff attendance. Good news! Your plan was effective! Staff attendance significantly improved in months two through four and reached desired levels in month five. However, in the last 3-4 weeks, the data reflects an increase in staff call outs. The owner will be opening a second location in about six months from now. They would like for attendance to return to the improved levels of month five and for that improved attendance to carry over to the new location.

Discussion

Please complete your assigned readings and respond to the following:

Detail three approaches you could incorporate into the shaping procedure that would increase the probability of the desired attendance occurring in the new location, as well as future clinic locations.
Explain how these three approaches increase generalization of modified behavior.
Discuss why increasing generalization also increases the probability of response maintenance.
Explain how technician evaluations align with the guiding principles for promoting generalized outcomes.
Illustrate how the programming for generalization and maintenance are aligned with the BACB Ethics Code in maximizing client outcomes in a given setting and responsibility to supervisees and trainees.

This paper does not require citations, but must adhere to APA paper format. A sample reflection paper Download sample reflection paper is provided for you. Download this document and then proceed with the action items.

Part 1 – Working With Your Team

Write 3-4 paragraphs (about 100-150 words) in which you:

Review Tuckman’s Model of Group Development Download Tuckman’s Model of Group Development.

All participants are important to creating a highly successful team. Discuss your perceptions of your performance and interactions within the team as it moved through Tuckman’s stages.
Reflect on how you fit into your team and completion of the project. Specifically, identify the role(s) that you assumed within the team. Which Task Role (goal-oriented) and Team Building and Maintenance Role (interaction-oriented) did you fulfill within your team? Identify at least one Task Role and one Team Building and Maintenance Role. Provide examples that demonstrate your performance of that role.
Part 2 – Reflection on the Course

Write 3-4 paragraphs (about 100-150 words) in which you:

Identify one relevant piece of information you are taking away with you from Learning Strategies.
Explain why you have identified that material as particularly relevant for you.

Predict how this material will impact your life.

Consider the Franklin Values identified in this course (see the Module 1 Overview). How have these values been reinforced in the assignments you have completed in the course? Predict what relevance these values will have in your future school and work career.
Part 3 – Remediation Plan for Communication Skills

There is no doubt that communication skills are critical in today’s work place. In this section of the assignment, you will create a remediation plan for improving your communication skills.

Think back through the course and the communication skills you have applied (APA assignments, grammar diagnostic, writing, presenting, working with a team, etc.). Identify at least one communication skill that you want to improve.

Formulate a plan to improve this communication skill. Improvement goals should be Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Relevant, and Timely (SMART). For example: What aspect of the skill do you want to improve (be specific: if you are having challenges with writing, is it spelling specifically that is difficult for you, or is it the organization of your writing?) What resources do you have to help you to improve?

How will you know that you have improved? Consider setting specific goals for yourself. Perhaps there are ten key words (perhaps they are specific to your major) that you will learn to spell correctly, so that you never spell them incorrectly again.

What goal will you set for yourself? Make it attainable, but don’t be afraid to stretch a little. How is this plan relevant to your present and/or future employment goals?
Set a date by which you will try to meet your goals.

Communication Research Paper-Can you believe that 45% of our communication hours are spent listening?

The University of Missouri Extension Office released an interesting article and here is a quote from it. “A typical study points out that many of us spend 70 to 80 percent of our waking hours in some form of communication. Of that time, we spend about 9 percent writing, 16 percent reading, 30 percent speaking, and 45 percent listening. Studies also confirm that most of us are poor and inefficient listeners” (Lee & Hatesohl, n.d., para. 1).

Can you believe that 45% of our communication hours are spent listening?

This week, Floyd is going to discuss nonverbal messages as well as listening and learning.  think in a professional development class, we can always look at our listening skills. If you are interested on how well of a listener you are, click here to take a short listening quiz: Listening Quiz.

As the assistant store manager at Kohl’s, almost 60% of my day was spent listening to others. Employees would request to chat about problems at home or work issues. would have meetings with my area supervisors and listen to their concerns and the department leads. Then, we would have a store management meeting with the district or our store manager. Now, let’s add in the customers that requested the manager on duty, and if it were my turn to run the floor,  would have to listen to customer complaints. As a professional, listening is a significant part of your development. Also, as you move into the employability seminar course, you will utilize these listening skills as that seminar takes the professional development skills and applies them to being an employee or a potential employee as you initiate the job search.  have plenty of stories I can share. To provide you information for your business toolbox, we are going to complete a research paper on listening. Below are the steps that needs to be completed. This assignment will address the following outcomes: SLO 2 and SLO 3.

Would this taking be different if the project were a public facility, such as a school or hospital?

Assignment 1 (1/2 page) Answer Prof N questions cites references.

Prof. Navarro posted
Hello Class,

To expand our discussion, I will include additional questions that pertain to our Unit 5 readings. You are not required to participate in the additional questions that I post. However, responses to the additional chapter questions will count towards your required discussion board postings.

The town of Fairview is struggling economically, with vacant storefronts and high unemployment. A major tech company proposes building a state-of-the-art headquarters and research park, promising 5,000 new jobs. To do so, the town plans to use eminent domain to demolish an old residential district and transfer the land to the company. Most homes are older but well-maintained, and many residents oppose the plan, saying they are being forced out for corporate gain.

Questions:

1. Should the economic benefits of the new tech hub outweigh the rights of homeowners?

2. Would this taking be different if the project were a public facility, such as a school or hospital?

3. What legal arguments could the homeowners make to challenge the taking?

Assignment 2 (1/2 page) Answer Prof N questions cite references.

Hello Class,

To expand our discussion, I will include additional questions that pertain to our Unit 5 readings. You are not required to participate in the additional questions that I post. However, responses to the additional chapter questions will count towards your required discussion board postings.

The state of Texas wants to build a new highway to connect two major cities, reducing traffic and increasing trade opportunities. The proposed route cuts directly through a generational family farm that has been in the same family for over 100 years. The farm provides fresh produce to local businesses, and the owners argue that losing the land will devastate both their livelihood and the local economy. The state insists that this is necessary public infrastructure and offers financial compensation.

Questions:

1. Should infrastructure projects automatically justify eminent domain?

2. Would it make a difference if the government rerouted the highway but at double the cost?

3. How does the government determine “just compensation,” and can emotional or historical value be factored into that assessment?

Describe how trade-offs between different configurations could accomplish the mission

Hardware Design:

Definition of the UGS high-level requirements to accomplish the mission
Descriiption of the UGS hardware components and their functions
Overview of the hardware design process, including component selection and integration

Discussion of any specific design challenges and solutions

Please reference the attached paper. I identified the problem my proposed new Uncrewed Ground Systems (UGS) design will solve.
Now, you will describe the mission, requirements (configurations, systems, components), and their rationales for operating this new system. Start by outlining the specific mission and problem this new system will solve in two to three single mission statements.

Next, choose several high-level requirements that will govern the design of your new UGS design. These may include performance requirements such as speed, endurance, and payload capacity, as well as functional requirements such as sensor capabilities, communication systems, and control interfaces. Remember to consider the environment in which the system will operate and the stakeholders who will be impacted by its success or failure when developing requirements.

Throughout the report, it is important to clearly state the rationale behind design decisions and the expected benefits and limitations of the proposed design. Describe how trade-offs between different configurations could accomplish the mission (e.g., wheels vs. tracks). Be sure to consider Human-Robot Interactions (HRI) in your requirements. This may be more important in accomplishing some missions (e.g., helper robots).

It may be helpful to use a decision matrix or other decision-making tool to compare the relative benefits and drawbacks of different design options.

What is one thing that you’ve realized about your own learning since arriving at UCSD?

ASSIGNMENT INSTRUCTIONS

Word count: 500-750 words
COURSE DESCRIPTION

Our MMW 122 course examines some of the most significant ideas, movements, and trends that have defined our world, from approximately 1750 to the present. Beginning with the Enlightenment and ending with climate change, this course explores the complicated notion of modernity and the emergence of its assumed components – liberalism, democracy, the nation-state, and capitalism – in the context of slavery, empire, war, decolonization, neoimperialism, and ecological crisis.

We will examine how the concept of “rights” has persisted and changed since the mid-eighteenth century; trace the development of capitalism and industrialization from its emergence in the eighteenth century through the nineteenth and twentieth centuries to the problems of urbanization and global warming in the present; examine revolutions – political, social, and cultural – and the responses to them; see the complex causes and effects of war; and delve into the complicated legacy of imperialism and neoimperialism.

We will center race, gender, sexuality, and their intersections. This course argues that the processes, systems, structures, and events that shaped the modern world were, and are, simultaneously global and local.
Reflection 2 introduces you to the general format of the rest of the quarter’s reflections.

Purpose (paragraph 1): Consider the lecture topics, course readings, and themes from the last three weeks (Weeks 2-4) and identify how the assigned readings and the lecture are connected to each other and to the themes of this class. In your answer, make sure to explicitly state the specific topic and theme that you focus on and explain why you’ve chosen it. You should cite at least one of the readings and at least one of the lectures from the relevant weeks.

Connection (paragraph 2): What new insight does your chosen topic, theme, or text(s) give you into your own project for this course?

Synthesis (paragraph 3): Keeping the specific topic and theme that you stated in your Purpose section in mind, identify a connection between that topic and theme and another topic, theme, or text(s) that we’ve examined in this course. What connections do you see between the two? Why does the additional topic interest you? What makes it worth pursuing? In your analysis, cite at least one additional reading and at least one additional lecture.

Reflection (paragraph 4): What is one thing that you’ve realized about your own learning since arriving at UCSD? How did you come to this realization, and how have you (or will you) adjust your work or study habits to accommodate it?
