Directions: After World War II, key Nazi officials were put on trial for their roles in the Holocaust; however, no one person was responsible for the Holocaust. Nazi soldiers carried out Hitler’s orders, ordinary Germans refused to help or did not know what was happening, foreign governments turned away refugees, and the citizens of the world ignored the problem. Ending genocide means recognizing how such a horrible event can occur in the first place. Make sure to articulate the authors’ argument and support with details from the text. A good start would be to tie in the titles. What do you think they mean?
Do the primary sources suggest that the main reason for the US failure in Vietnam was the inherent difficulty of fighting a limited war, false assumptions rooted in US culture or some other factor? Identify 3 sources that concur with main reason.
