What is a summary?
A summary gives an overview of the main points of a text from beginning to end and be written in such a way that a person who has not read the text will be able to understand what it is about. Please note that a summary is not a review. What you think of the text–whether you like it or don’t like it–is irrelevant. Your personal experience and opinion of the text should not be included in your summary.
Passing Grade:
For a passing grade your paper needs to be written by you in your own words; it needs to focus on the Mediterranean as a system; it needs to contain accurately included quotes that are immediately followed by accurately formatted footnotes; it needs to contain an accurately formatted bibliography. The paper should be no more than 1,000 words excluding the bibliography (990–1010 words is acceptable).
Citations:
When we write texts in history, we cite our sources using the Chicago Manual of Style: Notes and Bibliography. This means that you will write your citations in the form of footnotes at the bottom of the page, not as in-text parentheses.

Write an article review results from critically examining all aspects of an article.

Write an article review results from critically examining all aspects of an article. You will have to read your article several times to understand it fully enough to review properly.
Often, comparing your article to others will help you determine its quality.
Also, think about the article and its ideas in terms of each of the different week’s concepts and frameworks we study in class. Do the ideas in the article fit all the categories of appropriate class concepts, models and frameworks? This often will help you see things the authors missed, think about things the authors write in a new light, or see that the authors indeed covered a topic thoroughly.
You will be required to review an article from a credible and reliable source you choose that discusses any of the codes discussed in this week’s reading. This can be any of the following:
Fire Prevention Codes

What do you want to talk more about?

We watched this film. https://youtu.be/Y858-Ac_Odc

Consider everything that we’ve seen and talked about so far. Reference “MUCH ADO ABOUT NOTHING”
What haven’t we discussed? Or what haven’t we discussed enough? Come up with a couple conversation starters: questions or statements designed to provoke a reaction and a conversation. These shouldn’t be offensive, though we can talk about things in the play that are offensive. Outside of that, we can talk about anything that you’d like. The important thing is that the discussion will be driven by you and your peers.
